Time Hollow/Disgaea DS/Sonic & Dark Brotherhood/Kirby Superstar Ultra
Time Hollow is just the best adventure game ever since the Phoenix Wright series, and yes, it IS better than Apollo Justice.
Disgaea DS is basically Disgaea with like a punch to the face made up of extras, like unlocking the Most Badass Freakin' Overlord in his book form.
Sonic and the Dark Brotherhood is a pretty solid RPG. Nothing TOO exciting, but it's a good game nevertless.
KSSU = Remake of the best Kirby game ever made, with another punch to the face made up of extras. MetaKnightmare Ultra: play as MK in all the game's original stages, four new bosses and two new Arena modes, plus a whole new chapter.
All of them came out this week. Joy.
EDIT:
SUIKODEN DS
SUIKODEN DS
Afahghrwthgsshhg
SUIKODEN FRIGGIN DS
That's all.
-
I agree that the DS is nothing if not megawinsauce.
I have none of those games (damn budget), but my brother recently got KSSU. I will be kidnapping it soon.
-
Two people can play at the same time. But if only one has a cartridgedigetrig, then the other one has got to watch his screen over his shoulder to see the action.
-
I have megaman ZX advent on my DS. It is quite fun.
-
I haven't touched my DS since I bought my micro.
So much sexier.
-
But can it play DS games?
No? And it cramps the hell out of larger hands? Yes?
End.
-
My list of win games from ds
(phantom hourglass
Metroid prime
Crystal chronicles RoF
FFT Gilmore of the rift
Mario kart
Drawn to life
(need to get)
KSSU
Disgaea DS
Chocobo dungeon
-
Cooking Mama is the shiz.
-
Wha wha wha!?
Does Disgaea DS still give you everything the PS2 one offered?
I didn't think a cart would be able to store all of that! I was
considering getting it but didn't know if it would be a watered-down
port.
EDIT: Oh, is this turning into a PSP vs DS thread? Come
on! Let's be mature! Honestly!
DS > PSP

Bitch please. The DS lite cramps my manly hands. The micro doesn't.
In other news, I wish I had the fund for KSSU D:

Oh, is this turning into a PSP vs DS thread? Come

Monster Hunter. PSP wins.
-
EDIT: Oh, is this turning into a PSP vs DS thread? Come

What? When did that happen? I mean, it's clear that, if you're an actual gamer, the DS is better, but if you're a "x whore", then the PSP is better.
Bitch please. The DS lite cramps my manly hands. The micro doesn't.
Somehow, I don't totally believe this. Which model are you using? I haven't had different results with mine, but I'm curious to hear if you've filed down the edges of a DS Phat or something. The only time I ever have hand cramps with my DS is when I'm playing one of them fancy pants one-handed game like Metroid.
-
No man, just the weirdness of the lite cramps it up. Straight up, shiny, rounded edged lite. The micro is actually really comfortable. Its the easiest to play, say, Mega Man Zero on for me.
Also, Monster Hunter 3. Wii wins.
-
Hmm. Well, I've had very much the opposite as far as my experiences go. My friend has one (he's threatened to abandon it once he gets a DS), and even though he loves it, I can't touch it without cramping up.
The Micro's pixels also mess with my eyes, but I suppose that's because I'm used to them being larger.

DS > PSP
The graphics are downsised, and there's many bit's without voice acting, but yes, it does offer everything Disgaea did.
-
I heard that it was going to be a boatload of Disgaea and extras, and then I heard that it is a boatload of Disgaea and extras, and now you say it's a boatload of Disgaea and extras. That sounds like what it should be. I also heard it's a port of the first one, but I've never played any of them, so while that won't influence my buying of the title, it would be nice to know if that's true or not. I do want it, but I've never had the pleasures of a PS2 to experience the series before.
-
Oh, I just figured out there was a "Prinny Commentary" setting on 'Off'. I restarted the game with it "On" to see it.
Prinnies pop up on the upper screen while the characters are talking and keep commenting on the game. Saying it's amusing is losing an opportunity to say it's just good enough reason for you to no skip cutscenes EVER. You miht have played this game, and remember everything, but some stuff the prinnies say it's just priceless.
Or maybe I'm just too easily amused.
*flashback*
Larharl's dad: Larharl, do you love me?
Larharl:... no I hate you.
(Commentary Prinny: So he's aways been like that)
Larharl's dad: Ha, a tipical answer for a demon, but one day...
(Commentary Prinny: "One day--- I'll crush you!" is probably what he was going to say)
*end flashback*
Larharl: (Ugh, this brat got me thinking of my old man...)
Larharl: (What was he trying to tell me that time?)
(Commentary Prinny: "---I'll crush you!")
-
I own both a DS and a PSP.
The PSP is an all around better system, and has more game selections (a lot are remakes though).
The DS has, IMO, better games and more variations thanks to the touch screen.
-
Dragon Quest IV
Izuna, and Izuna 2
Bangai-O Spirits
Those games have invaded my free time. Whereas, my wallet is wetting itself in mortal terror of Metal Slug 7, The World Ends With You, Final Fantasy IV, and Lock's Quest.
-
I have these:
Super Mario 64 DS
Brain Age 2
LoZ
FFIV (Finally got a FF game after all these long years)
N+
Geometry Wars
-
Well, I now have Disgaea DS, and due to a long-deserved grounding, I also have free access to my little brother's copy of KSSU.
Grandy! Throw Sonic at me! Throw it hard!
-
I'll do it for him.
*Throws Sonic the Hedgehog 2*
It's for the Genesis, but it's the best (and first, out of two) Sonic game I ever played...T_T
-
God I want KSSU!!!

The Weiscool Devils won the match against the Grand Grandinis by 78 to 55, it was one for the records, wasn't it Bob?
Bob: Whatever ye say, chef.

No man, just the weirdness of the lite cramps it up.
Which is why i have an old DS.

MEGA SAD FACE.
-
On a side note, Novemeber 8th Chrono Trigger comes out for the DS.
This excites me.
-
Same here
I want it NOW!
I also want to see a SSB DS
It could work
Although a shitload of features would get cut
Such as My Music
-
On a side note, Novemeber 8th Chrono Trigger comes out for the DS.
This excites me.
What I like is that it's a much-needed revival of a classic game. What I don't like is that it's essentially the same game, only with a never-before-released level...
...is it wrong for me to be more excited about Metal Slug 7?
-
I'd like if they could re-make Super Metroid for the DS... and I too would like to see a Super Smash Bros. for DS. There's enough buttons for it! I just don't know what the second screen could be used for, though... and Chrono Trigger for DS sounds great!
-
Mwahaha, DS lite will be arriving in the mail shortly, already got my FLASH CART!
Oh man im a naughty boy
-
Don't worry, I have one too
Get Still Alive
One of the best homebrew games EVER

Nintendo DSi. (http://kotaku.com/5057870/nintendo-announce-new-ds-the-nintendo-dsi)
So ****ing lame.
-
Can't they just make a new handheld already rtaher than revising an already existing one? Anyway, i dont need a DS to take pictures, i have a camera, and a camera phone.
-

*Has neither* *Is kindeh looking forward to the DSi*
-
No GBA slot = INSTA-FAIL.
-
Yeah... the picture taking ability totally doesn't make up for that at all.
-
I agree.
-
I WAS SPEAKING FIGURATIVELY.
-
AND I STILL AGREE.
-
If you really want a GBA slot, BUY A GBA OR BUY AN OLDER DS. ITS NOT THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT.\
It wasn't until this generation that games have backwards compatibility so stop complaining.
-
In that case, if you want a camera, buy a camera. :p
-
That... has nothing to do with it FFL. If it doesn't have a gba slot, buy a gba. If it does have a camer, buy a camera. That makes less sense XD
Anyways, its got mp3 and sd recognition. Thats pretty cool. Though I still want to get my hands on a play-yan.
-
I'm personally still completely content with my DS dark/heavy/dinosaur. And personally, ZKX, I do see a problem not having a GBA slot. Yes, even though I have an old GBA and the old DS, I don't have room to carry around that much, as I already have a bunch of stuff I always keep in my pockets. It's incredibly convenient being able to just switch between systems like that, and what's the point of having a smaller DS if you have to carry around another system if you want to play GBA anyway?
Oh, and original GBA did have backwards compatibility. :P
-
Orrrrr, carry one and not have an add disorder :D
The original GBA did, but really, just be content with it. If you want to play DS, bring a ds. If you want to play GBA, bring a GBA. I don't know about you guys, but I always have the micro in my pocket and I rarely have enough time to play it.
-
There's supposed to be some sort of download system like the Shop Channel that the Wii has. No word of just how that'll be yet.
But about the DSi's missing GBA port: I use this port about as much as I use the DS game port, so losing it forces me to carry around another handheld. This is massively inconvenient. A minor inconvenience that also turns up is that peripherals that take advantage of the GBA slot (like the Guitar Hero add-on and the rumble pack) are rendered useless. Not a big deal to me, since I don't own either one, but still irksome. Also most of the new software features are already available to owners of a flash cart. In the end, this seems to be a very bad trade-off to me.
Then again, I'm a bit of a tech whore, and having a built in web browser, a better wi-fi detection system, larger screen, built-in SD card support, built-in camera, and all those fancy features with none of that flash cart finagling seems nice.

Oh snap! Chrono trigger fro DS!! with 1 new dungeoun = Win!!!
-
There is a valkeryie Profile coming out for the DS soonish too. As well as new castlevania on the 21st, which looks amazing.
-
Oh snap! Chrono trigger Metal Slug fro DS!! with 1 new dungeoun Fio = Win!!!
There is a valkeryie Profile Metal Slug coming out for the DS soonish too. As well as new castlevania delicious Fio sprite on the 21st, which looks amazing.
Q_Q
Man, someone get the HEAVY MACHINE GUN!! before I get any worse....
-
Not even remotely funny or cute. Fail.
-
I never understood the fascination with Fio. She was never "delicious" or whatever retarded adjective they choose in one of the games. The sprites have always been the same, and the mugs have always been manly. Eri (and Nadia) have always been more attractive in the sense of being females. Fan art doesn't count towards a character being attractive. Its retarded fan art. I was excited about a new Metal Slug, but after 6 I've lost all hope. You can only have the exact same game for so long.
-
I'll never tire of it.
-
Not even remotely funny or cute non-military. Fail Go enlist in the Army to redeem yourself.
T_T
What can I say, I'm a Fio fanboy. Just that simple; I've only played part of Metal Slug 2, so maybe I'm just getting caught in my own hype...
I mean, from what I've speculated, Metal Slug 7 will feature Fio, Heavy Machine Guns, cannon-toting Victorian-era dolls, nuclear strongholds, and Rick Astley as a boss.
-
...You're a fanboy and you've only played part of one of the games? I thought this only afflicted Kingdom Hearts.
-
Wait, there's a new Metal Slug coming out? Why didn't I know about this? I feel out of the loop now ._.
HEAVY MACHINE GUN!!
RAWKET LAWN CHAIR!!
-
RAWKET LAWN CHAIR!!
I'll never tire of it.
See, these guys know where I'm coming from.
Look, I'm starved for a good, fast-paced side-scroller, and Contra 4 is way too much for me. I know that the Metal Slugs are good, as far as 2-D games go, so why not? Who cares if it's just like 2/3/4/5/6/X; I've never played any of them!
...You're a fanboy and you've only played part of one of the games? I thought this only afflicted Kingdom Hearts.
Boy, you should have seen me back before Izuna 2 came out. You'd've impaled me on a blunt broomstick, I guarantee it.
-
Just finished Megaman ZX and ZX Advent, all I can say was PWNT
-
Anyone heard teh newz....Nintendo is making a DSi to rival the Ipod
-
I take it you haven't read the last page?
Anyways I kinda want the DSi, despite the uber fail name and lack of GBA slot
Kinda
Wouldn't give a heart and an ear for it, but oh well
-
no the school website blocker labeled that page as
Violence, weapons , Pornography, Italian Pornography, Intolerance,
Web page has been blocked...
-
.....The hell?! Since when does Alex post his porn here?! 0_o
-
I dunno...it randomly happens...
-
That happened at my school with Wikipedia once
Then we changed filters
And this one is even more strict
-
Anyone heard teh newz....Nintendo is making a DSi to rival the Ipod
As a matter of fact, I have. (http://www.charas-project.net/forum/index.php?topic=23923.msg269733#msg269733)
-
Yeah, school filters are stupid... so many sites blocked for reasons such as violence or pornography while they actually have no such contents...
As for DSi and its missing GBA slot, it doesn't bother me, as I actually never played GBA games on my original DS. The only reason I'd put a GBA game in the slot was to prevent any dust to get in... and also because I didn't like to have an empty slot. Removing it seems kinda like a downgrade, though.
Maybe I'll get one... maybe.
-
The only reason I'd put a GBA game in the slot was to prevent any dust to get in... and also because I didn't like to have an empty slot.
Some games (Pokemon) use it to unlock stuff
And there is a filler-cartridge that came with the DS
-
The filler-cartridge came with the DS Lite, not the original DS. Or well, I didn't have one when I got mine.
And I didn't know about unlocking stuff with it. But anyway, the DSi will come outside of Japan some time next year, so I'll probably just get a DS Lite instead... which will come with the filler-cartridge.

The Joy Of Owning A Penis.
-
I know such a joy. Quite often. Sometimes, while in the bathroom.
-
Sometimes twice a day.
-
Such pleasures are rare for me...T_T
-
The godlike power of taking a leak while standing
-
Orrrrr, carry one and not have an add disorder :D
The original GBA did, but really, just be content with it. If you want to play DS, bring a ds. If you want to play GBA, bring a GBA. I don't know about you guys, but I always have the micro in my pocket and I rarely have enough time to play it.
Oh! Oh! Another reason for me! I have the old GBA with the awful screen, so I basically need my DS to play GBA games. That said, I know the answer to this is, "Well then stick with your original DS then..." which is exactly what I'll be doing. :) Oh, and don't make fun of my ADD. :( (But really though, a lot of times I'm playing action games and platformers that are easy to switch between.)
-
Oh no, I have game add too. I just either stick with DS or GBA at a time XD
-
Ya know, we could just solve all of our problems and get flash carts. :P
-
I've considered this many a time. I just haven't haha.
-
I never use the the GBA port...I never needed to..never will...
I just use my Game Boy micro
-
I already have a DS; I don't have much interest in the DSi's features at all, except for the bigger screen. Other than that, why bother? Besides, I have too many GBA games that I haven't finished yet--I value the GBA slot too much.
-
I've always wanted a bigger penis though.
-
Yeah, I bet...<_<
Still, it's not the size of your penis screen Power Level, it's the speed of your Slowpoke that matters. Nobody wants a fast Slowpoke.
-
Very true
That would rip a hole in space time from the conundrum then Dialga and Palkia would get pissed and destroy us
-

...What are you talking about? What I meant was that if there was a fast Slowpoke, it wouldn't be a Slowpoke anymore--it'd be a Fastpoke, and that makes no sense whatsoever. Who ever heard of a Fastpoke? That's not fun. It doesn't even sound cuddly.
-
I'm all about the Fastpoke.
-
Fastpoke, use give orgasm on Archem!

Exactly
A Slowpoke can't be fast
It would destroy reality
It's specifically named to be slow
It being fast would be impossible, and in succeeding in that impossibility, we would break reality
It's like that episode of Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy when they make Mandy smile
It ****ed everything up
-
Slowpoke can be fast, but as a result, everything else must be faster. Duh.
-
Fastpoke can't give Archem a fast orgasm, it's just finished before it starts :|
-
It's so true. :(
-
Maybe Archem should take some quests to raise his stamina?
-
He can't do that--he's the only one with the Z.O.C. skill! >_<
-
See the edit to my first post.
-
There's a Suikoden DS? I'm suddenly aware and interested as to why I haven't seen a copy around.
-
It's still on the making.

AWARENESS! I have it +1! Thanks!
-
Drawn to Life is right now my favorite DS game. Why? Cause I play as Batman. It also has a kickass ending song, even if I beat it in 4 days. Spongebob will kill the game forever. (Good thing it's not made by 5th cell. It's made by Play THQ in general.)
-
Sigma Harmonics is coming out and that looks pretty sweet.
World Destruction : Michibi Kareshi Ishi looks pretty much like crap, but those who like Xenogears and the Chrono music might like it.
Knights in the Nightmare also looks amazing. It is a tactical rpg where you control a wisp with the stylist. Enemies may attack either your units, or your wisp. If it is the first, then your units just loose health. If they attack the wisp, you must move it around the screen with your stylist to evade the attack. It looks awesome.
Then there's Tales of the Tempest... which I'm iffy about. The cutsceens look terrible and the graphics look decent at best. The trailer made it seem like battles will be very hack-and-slash, so I dunno. Something to keep an eye on I suppose.
Just saw a video for Dungeon of Windaria too. Looks decent, if it comes overseas I might try it. It is basically a 2d runescape.
-
Dude drawn to life was effin awesome....I <3 being able to draw my game out! and make teh weapons!
-
Did you know that the Dungeon of Windaria game is actually based off of an old '80s anime? THE MOAR YOU KNOW! ^_^
The game I'm looking out for is Jump Ultimate Stars--I'll buy an imported version once my scholarship cash comes in later this month. I can't wait to wail on Naruto with Dio Brando! ^_^
-
Dio actually really sucks as to play in that game. Same for Jotaro :/
-
Dio actually really sucks as to play in that game. Same for Jotaro :/
That's funny; I remember checking the character tiers on Jump Wiki, the wiki for Jump: Ultimate Stars. Dio Brando is one of the top 5 characters, while Naruto is below-average...also, Dio has a crotch-grab move. That's priceless.
-
Except tiers are for faggots and I own the game :D I find it more fun to play as Luffy or Goku.
-
Except tiers are for faggots and I own the game :D I find it more fun to play as Luffy or Goku.
Goku was a below-average character, actually--weaker than Luffy (higher-than-average)....
Still, yeah, nothing compares to the pleasure of using ZA WORUDO on Luffy, and Road Rolling his annoying *** into Never.
......Or, I could just play Metal Slug 7, and use a HEAVY MACHINE GUN to blow up s***. Both work. ^_^
-
You know what, just go back to spouting memes and ruining games and anime for people :|
-
I have JUS. It's schweet.
-
You know what, just go back to spouting memes and ruining games and anime for people :|
...Okay, the memes, I get, but when have I ever ruined games or anime for people? It's not like I go around saying, 'Halo? More like 'Gay-lo' or
'lulz, Mario sucks'.
Oh, well.
BTW: You'll never believe this: exclusive video of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia! ^_^
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2b1D5w82yU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2b1D5w82yU)
Changing subject...a friend of mine is this close to chaining me up to the chair; I was planning on getting JUS when my scholarship cash came in, but he's all "No games--you've got 28 games that you haven't finished yet! :yell:"
So what if I haven't gotten around to finishing Valkyrie Profile 2, SO3, and so on (or Fire Emblem 2, or Circle of the Moon, or Tactics Ogre or...). It's JUS we're talking about! That, and Metal Slug 7. Granted, I have that one pre-ordered. I can't wait to get my butt kicked by that game...
-

Only 28? I've got over 100 games that need to have a credit roll...
-
I'm gonna go blow that HEAVY MACHINE GUN like it was a penis!
-
Lovely
-
This has nothing to do with the DS, per se, but I found Phantasy Star Collections for the GBA! And people think the GBA slot is useless...^_^
-
Not I! Haven't you heard?! I use the GBA slot at least as much as I use the DS slot! Then again, I really only got a DS to replace my fried GBA SP... Being the next generation of handheld devices was only a bonus.
-
The only slot I use is the GBA slot.
Cuz my GBA has no DS slot. :P
kay not funny.
-
This has nothing to do with the DS, per se, but I found Phantasy Star Collections for the GBA! And people think the GBA slot is useless...^_^
I have a GBA Micro for this.
-
I has a micro too.... My use of the GBA slot for my D.S. is in the negatives >__<
-
Can't stand to use a Micro. My hands are just too damn big.
-
Wow, another locked thread. Drag's working hard to hide the truth.
-
Quit your trolling. You're not dragging this thread into the oestrogen-filled mire as well.
Now stop talking.
-
lol....I heard something about a game called Skate It ...Is it it's own game or like Skate for the Xbox360
-
It's a skate. spin-off for the Wii and DS. I'm thinking about getting it, but I'm waiting to hear if it controls well. I'll likely get it for the Wii if it does.
-
I want another D.S. FPS game.....metriod was fun, but I want Mowar :x
-
Isn't there a Call of Duty for DS?
-
for Wii I think :|
-
No, I just checked. There is one for DS. It's actually Modern Warfare. Just check on google for some screenshots of it.
-
Not as good as the Wii one.
-
Ah well, probably not, hehe... but the DS version has something the Wii one doesn't... you can play it mostly everywhere!
-
Very very true
Although apparently the DS one is epic handcramp kingdom, due to its MPH setup
-
Isn't there a Call of Duty for DS?
Yeah, CoD4 made it to the DS. It's the only version of the game that's different.
Although apparently the DS one is epic handcramp kingdom, due to its MPH setup
As long as you have to hold the system with one hand (because aiming with the stylus is the ****), this will always exist.
Unless they release that grip that I've been hoping for...
-
I always aimed with A-B-X-Y in Metroid, though. I know it's more precise with the stylus, but I just couldn't play that way. Can you set it that way in CoD:4 DS? Also, can you play against Bots in multiplayer?
And is there any other FPS for the DS?
-
Yup (http://www.gameseek.co.uk/Games/NintendoDS/First-Person-Shooter/)
-
Well, there you go, Felix-0.
And that last game on the list... "Touch the Dead". That name sounds quite... I don't know...
-
I always aimed with A-B-X-Y in Metroid, though. I know it's more precise with the stylus, but I just couldn't play that way.
See, I'm the other way around. The stylus aim was fast, precise, and felt like a mouse. The button method was slow, inaccurate, clunky, and my brain kept switching from inverted y-axis to non-inverted y-axis on the fly, leaving myself flailing about in any combat situation. The one thing I preferred about the dual button control setup was that doing a boost ball was much easier (although you could still use the same method with stylus mode, but you had to change your hand position exclusively for ball mode).
Anyways, I've made my opinion on Touch the Dead known ages ago. Fun fun fun, but the name is so poorly selected. I believe it was the butt of some of my jokes a while back, too.
-
Thanks guys...now mowar games to add to my list of Friggin D.S. Games
-
There's a constant stream of epic flowing from the DS. It's not us, it's the DS. It is by far the best gaming platform this generation.
-
Order of Ecclesia came out.
Or at least leaked. At any rate, I'm playing it.
-
Been playing Ecclesia like a nutjob, its awesome IMO.
-
Hey, the main girl of Ecclesia....does she use the Vampire Killer, or not?
Also...where does the game fit in the Castlevania continuity?
-

Vampire Killer is lost, so is the Belmont family, tho the little village you hang out in "might" have (which means it has) a relation to the former Belmont family. Which tells that its pretty much after the previous castlevanias.
-
I bought KSSU the other day.
**** yeah, Kirby.
-

...So, it takes place in the year 3000, after Soma Cruz deals with the whole 'Dracula's Reincarnate' thing...?
-
No, it would take place before Soma Cruz. Julius Belmont actually KILLED Dracula and imprisoned his castle, so he's dead. Literally, chronologically, DoS is the last Castlevania.

So, it's sometime between 1999 and 20-whatever?

No, probably more like in the Victorian era.
-
So Anyone here play Drawn to life,
did you unlock the secret of the wishing well?
