Hello To everyone!
Once again after like 1000 years I will attempt to make and finish a game
resembling Harvest Moon :o
Well Yes I know many have try including myself :blush: BUT
hopefully this time I will finish it!

For now I just want to ask what system you prefer better I still like RPG Maker 2000
better than all the ones that have come out to the market, even if the graphics are low
but in 2000 you have a lot of more freedom including the map, even if it is more complicated
to use but I will appreciate if everyone give me their opinion because when I star (Actually
I already did :blue-eye: ) I wouldn't like to change everything again.

Google "rm2k9U", just like that. It's a small download and should bring you to a site that has some other fun things that might make your harvest moon game a little easier to work on. The stuff there is a little advanced though, so be warned and be careful when using this stuff. Though, whatever you screw up, there's always a way to fix it.
rm2k is old old old. BUT, to its credit, it can do everything rm2k3 can do. Plus, there are lots of "add ons" for it that were simply never made for rm2k3. The bottom line though, while patches for rm2k/3 allow the programs to compete with the capabilities of its successors, RMXP and VX are still more powerful and they can do it all a lot easier.

But I'm reading now the name that you gave me and installing the program
to my laptop now. I will start seen what the program have to offer but it seems
good so far.

Np. And don't worry about it, I'm still using rm2k3 and I'm pretty content with it. Like I said, rm2k/3 both have the capabilities of producing as good quality games as rmxp or vx, it's just not as easy to get everything to play out the way you want it too. But it's all relatively possible.

Minus the Graphical abilities of the XP/VX
I still use 2k3 and i enjoy it. Maybe cause i know it fairly well. The only thing about 2k3 thats pissing me off is the limited 96x96 pixel size. Its the biggest image size it can handle and sometimes is a few pixels short for what i need. Dont even start me on the 48x48 battle animations!

for 2k3? I also cant find a way to animate the monsters in 2k3 either. Well atleast their idle animation or reacting to damage.

Its called a CBS.
I've heard it can be done in the DBS, with lots and lots of either animations or pictures.

I always loved the CONCEPT of Harvest Moon; being part of a small community that you can see evolve over time in small ways. I just wished there was a way to make it a game without all the farming tedium. Animal Crossing tried this, but it didn't work all that well either.

@RJA, yep. Though, it allows larger sized battle animation picture files. So more frames.
Also, there's one that allows pictures in the DBS which would help make animated monsters.
But I digress, this has little to do with harvest moon.

Hi again!
Glad to see that the post is still alive!
Well about the Harvest moon I have been converting some map
chipset, I still can't part with the idea of leaving all my work from 2k
and make it all new :-\ is like leaving a lot of work especially because
I found 3 maps they are exactly the same but one is perfect for winter
and one for fall. I found a converter that will make all 2k and 2k3 maps in to
rpg maker xp then I think I saw a converter that will make them
work for rpg maker vx all the maps are convert now to xp, now I'm
working on the next step.

Oh By the way for those of you who like Harvest Moon
but want more you should play Rune Factory! Is the same
as HM but with a lot of more thing and you don't need to
concentrate so much in plants and animals just go around killing
monster and you can get everything you need the game is awesome try
the one for Wii !!

Converting is so much trouble I'm using lake 30 maps XD
if I try to convert all that to VX or XP I will never finish this game
and I really don't want to limitate to the chipsets that thouse 2
programs have to offer :'(
I have to re think my strategy for this game :badboy:

Well as lazy as I can be I made 2 maps, one in rpg maker vx and
one in rpg maker 2k that is the one I really like :-*
but well I will let you all be the judges of them.
This is suppose to be the first step of the farm.
