Title: Shadows

I would like to know how to make shadow of building(like the one on picture)so when my characters walks on the spot where the shadow is he is a little darker then when not on shadow.

EDIT:plus as u can see the tree is on the shadow so i want to make that part of tree be shadowed to.

You'll have to create a picture of the shadow, then set it to, say, 50% transparency and show it at a specific point.
