1. In the first map. Create an event with an auto-start trigger. Add the command: "Show picture" and choose your picture. It will then appear on the screen.
When you don not want to show the picture anymore. use the command "erase picture"

2.you can change the passibility and visibility of chipsets in the database under "tileset". The star represents: above. Circle: under. Cross: same layer. Square: can pass through sides.

3.A charset must have the size: 288x 256 pixels. to be imported.
If you make a charset then you must make sure that you put the file into a charset template or something.
Another way is to use CHARAS EX in which you can create all 8 charsets at the same time. And they get lines up and all.

You have to have 4 charsets across and 2 down. They also need to be lined up properly, or they won't move correctly. Then you have to import it. If it still is unvalid size, try a program like Corel or Idraw, and make it 288x256 with 256colours.

About the character set problem

You could use Charas.EX. Just open the character set generator (click File and then CharSet-Generator), then click one of the slots and select Import Image. So yeah, just import the character. When you're done importing, just select Save Picture (it's on the CharSet-Generator) and well, save it. Then you can upload the character set.

And if it's hard to understand my explanation, sorry, really not good at explaining.

Set the hero charset sprite to transparent at the start and have an event looking like the last boss walk around with the "move event" command.
Then when that intro is done - set the hero sprite transparency to opaque again.

After the event have played through - activate a switch or something and add a second page to the auto-play event with the precondition that the switch is on or such. That way the event won't replay over and over.
