Title: Google TV Beta
Post by: Fortet on June 05, 2007, 12:46:25 AM
Okay, I've recently found a video on YouTube explaining how to gain access to Google TV Beta. If you're interested, read this tutorial:

NEEDED:
GMail Account
Spare Time :P

1) Sign on to your GMail account or set one up
2) Click on the 'Settings' link located on the top left corner of the screen
3) Scrol down until you get to the 'General' tab
4) Where it says 'Love Google?', right click the link provided and select 'Copy Link'
5) Go back to your inbox
6) click on 'Compose Mail'
7) Paste the link as the subject and the body, no spaces or other characters.
8) Send it to yourself
9) Go back to your inbox and archive the letter
10) Now, logout and log back in
11) Roll your mouse over the GMail logo at the top right of the screen. The envelope/M should turn into a TV upon rollover
12) Not working? Log back in and out until it does
13) Once the rollover works, click on the logo to refresh the page.
14) Now you should have an invite to Google TV Beta :)

If this works for somebody, please post. I'll post if I can get it to work for me.

Fortet, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

What is that a semi-quote from, Osmose?

Maybe, but explain this (already ruled out false due to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MulSMSJV-U)

If it is true, it is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of, and I think less of Google because of it.

This is the kind of stuff Neopets pulls of. Come on now.

EDIT: Uh-huh. (http://blog.outer-court.com/archive/2007-01-27-n10.html)

Was hoping this would have gone on longer >_>
Oh well, anywho
Yes, I knew it was fake. I was hoping to find out how many people would actually try this.
Darn you Osmose, you ruined my experiment :P

I'm doing some people studies this summer.
I'm testing to see the extent of people's beliefs and gullibility.
So much for this one.
On to the next random idea (not to be posted here :P)

Try making something up yourself rather than using a hoax that can be disproved via, ironically enough, a Google search. :P

Don't ever get between Osmose and the truth.

Ever.

See, even if this hadn't been proved a hoax, it just sounded really fake. This part looked especially fishy:

By the way, if I had a Gmail account, I totally would have tried this.  I would be very doubtful of it working, but I would try it, just in case.
