Title: Cheesy Ramen?
Post by: drenrin2120 on May 06, 2009, 04:29:11 AM
For those of you who may be unaware, ramen noodles are possibly the greatest thing under the sun. Except for shrimp, ugh... dehydrated, packaged shrimp... :x

This topic is about foods you find delicious while others may find strange. Like kalimari, veal, Bull schlong, fiddleheads... etc. What kind of weird, exotic, or flat out disgusting foods do you crave? Are there any strange combinations of food you enjoy? I know this has probably been done before, but it's being done again.

So what's so crazy about ramen noodles? personally, I like to add shredded cheese to them. Okay, so it's not that insane, but I'm a boring person, so it's okay.

I just found out today that pure High Fructose Corn Syrup is nummy.
Seriously.

And now for my explanation:
My third period class is a nutritions class. Today, we were taste testing different forms of sugars, and there happened to be a bottle of HFCS. I was curious, so I got a spoonfull and downed it. It was good :).

Other things:
Chocolate filled strawberries
Frozen Twinkies
Deep Fried Asparagus
Pizza with BBQ sauce
And many many more

Those aren't too bad. The deep fried asparagus is kind of odd, but I myself never eat any vegetable. Hooray for unhealthy lifestyles!

But besides that, I usually add an un-godly amount of my own spices into my ramen, including garlic and chilly powder. and 2 chicken bovilon cubes. :3

Shocked the piss out of us.

I'm a pesceterian (no meat except fish kiddies) so Lime Shrimp Ramen Noodles and Sushi yum.
Scallops I know alot of people who haaate scallops.

I use to drink a small shot of sour pickle juice and chase it with tea.
And I cut up a piece of fish and put it in the ramen with small chunks of pineapple.
Its not bad.
The most disgusting Vegan Food is these nasty vegan burgers that taste like carpet.
Vegan Muffins roock.

Fish with ramen actually sounds like something I'd try out. I had miso soup with a weird fish in it not long ago, and I liked it. Though these two are different things, I don't sound bad at all.

Oh that's another, miso soup. I love those little tofu chunks.

I have had miso soup before its not bad.
Ramen is especially good if your low on money.

The one thing I want try is blowfish.

My friend likes
Rocky Mountain oysters

disgusting

Careful with the Blowfish...those can be deadly

Bread slathered in BBQ sauce, nothing else
Ham and Grape Jelly
I could go on forever, as I am an adventurous eater

Still, nobody thought me drinking just High Fructose Corn Syrup was weird?
Huh...
Title: Re: Cheesy Ramen?
Post by: Nandez on May 07, 2009, 05:09:50 AM
I know it can be deadly but I still want to try it.

I like to mix combos.

Brown Rice fish Ramen noodles a tad bit of sugar sprinkled across little sourcream and slight slight ketchup
with mandarin slices.

Seafood is a tough one for me. There isn't much seafood I'll eat. Clams and scallops just look like snot (poor reason, I know) I enjoy lobster and some sea fish. Most fresh water fish I dislike strongly. Salmon is the worst. It's just so... fishy. >.>

As a little kid I used to enjoy tortilla wraps with mayonaise and olives... nothing else.

And I forget who, but someone said something about adding 2 bouillon cubes in their ramen... That's so bad for you. I love my bouillon/salt cubes but damn.
Title: Re: Cheesy Ramen?

Oysters are actually pretty good if you can get past the smell. The cooked oysters in oil. Ummmm... I have eaten pokeweed even though it is poisonous (boiled three times of course). I've eaten roses, pine needles, and dandylions. Dunno why. Plantain leaves, stuff you'd consider weeds. I've tried each thing at least once. ooh, and I don't mind the taste of Passion Fruit.

I wish I was a brave eater, my stomach does flips when I think about eating spinach. hahaWeird I love V8. and yeah, ramen is bad as it is, even more reason adding bouillon to it is really not that good an idea.

I've been eating ramen like a monster lately. (¢16 a meal.) **** is TERRIBLE for you, but man is it good.

Also, I have a conundrum for you. Every single japanese person I talk to (A lot mind you.) says that Ramen is not naturally japanese. (They spell it in katakana as well, for those of you who knows what that means.) That it's naturally chinese. Yet, every single chinese person I talk to will claim that it's japanese...

So, what IS ramen?

I used to eat banana+honey sandwiches...Try it! GOOD STUFF! Also, has anybody here eaten heart of palm? DELICIOUUUS! Highly recommended.

OH! Also, a popular flavour for candies in Mexico is chili+tamarind, weird as shit, tasty as hell.

BBQ sauce and Mac & Cheese

I get bored a lot

And for things that do NOT taste good:
Me and my cousin were bored one day, so we took the entire spice cabinet and made eggs with a dash of everything

When I made pizza at acompany called Grotto Pizza we made BBQ Chicken Pizza, all it was was dough, BBQ Sauce, Chicken, Cheese and it was the most amazing thing ever.
We had a French Fry pizza, a McDonald's Pizza( hamburger, ketchup, mustard no lettuce, and some other stuff),Hot wing pizza, Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza (no pizza sauce just the Ranch)

All were amazing.

I also Love Ramen noodles.
I can eat the hell out of crabs, I live on the eastern shore so Crab season has started or will be here soon, And I know I'm getting a bushel or two this year.

It supposedly causes migraines, chest pain, nausea, etc. in certain people. It was also suspected of promoting obesity, but that's been disputed. Some scientists say it's okay for healthy people, but you never know what they'll figure out about this stuff a few years down the road.

Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate and MSG, is a sodium salt of the non-essential amino glutamic acid. It is used as a food additive and is commonly marketed as a flavour enhancer.

I still don't understand what a flavor enhancer is. I know that regular salt doesn't make Kool-Aid taste better.

The way I see it, meat is necessary to people's diets, people with certain digestive diseases and people that don't like the taste of meat excluded. To substitute other things is unnatural and is more difficult, harming the person's own pleasure, which I equate to any pleasure an animal could receive not dying or living in poor conditions.

I really don't care for meat and I don't put anything in place of it I only eat fish because I like Sushi plus after watching Slaughter House videos I would never ever want to eat meat again.
I do take protein pills to get protein that I would otherwise miss from meat.
But I eat healthy anyway fish, vegetables, rice and fruit.

Fish don't feel pain which the only reason I eat it and because I love Sushi.

Some animals eat other animals, I don't understand why we should go "Oh, it's cruel! I won't eat meat!"
Plus I love meat.

And plants are considered living as well, how can you be sure they don't suffer when you harvest them (or whatever)?
Maybe they actually suffer even more than animals!

And I doubt fish don't feel pain, I think they simply forget after few seconds. I may be totally wrong, though.

I have but I disliked it and are you fish or a scientist I really doubt you know for sure since even Neurological doctors and scientists don't know I doubt people on charas do.
I don't even know for sure but I think they don't because of their undevlopment and because i'm a pesceterian. Whether it denials or truth on anyones guess because there are hundred of people syaing they feel pain and hundreds who say they don't
Just because you say they fele pain doesn't make it true just because I ya they don't doesn't make it true either.
Everyone who studied it has a diffrent opion guess you don't really know unless you are a fish but they do lack the cells mammals have and a devloped brain  so my vote goes for they don't feel pain.

Fish exhibit behaviors commonly associated with pain.

I think Archem was either being sarcastic or philosophical when he said plants feel pain.

WARNING: YOU WILL BE OFFENDED
Religiously, I think that there is no difference between humans and animals, and that they should be respected equally. I do not, however believe that they truly feel it on the conscious level. I believe everything is just blobs of meat or goo or rock or what not, which in turn is composed of cells in the case of living matter, molecules, then atoms, and so on. I believe the only truly conscious being is me, and I am the closest being to God there is, though I do not believe that my physical self is infinitely wise, powerful, or anything like that. This is known as solipsism, and seems much more common with autistics such as myself, who do not naturally feel a connection to other people, and which most children "grow out of".
Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish#Sense_organs
In 2003, Scottish scientists at the University of Edinburgh performing research on rainbow trout concluded that fish exhibit behaviors often associated with pain.

Seriously, dude (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2983045.stm).

And...why would they not feel pain?

It would make the fish lack a learning response to danger, and while I admit, some do, most would have to in order to survive

More material, this one explaining it a bit better (http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/outdoor-activities/fishing/fish-conservation/responsible-fishing/fish-pain.htm).

haha

but seriously,
I feel the argument of whether fish feel pain is kind of a pointless one... A fish is an animal, a living being. If the only reason you don't eat cow is 'cuz they moo and show pain in a way you understand then you're just weak. Seriously, either you don't eat living things or you do regardless of their disposition to pain, it seems to me that that decision should be based more on you're moral beliefs. If you feel bad about eating cow, then don't eat it, that's a respectable decision.

Being vegan and vegetarian is honestly stupid... But that's just my blunt opinion of it.
