...did you make the correct size image?  What error do you get?  Do you get an error?  What the hell are you saying (as game_maniac mentioned in different wording)?

its going to have to be in a compatible image size.

you cant have one single character sprite and import it. look at other spritesets and notice the differences. You may have to do some copy pasting.
