So, the place died there for a minute. It seems to be back, for now. I'm not totally sure what caused the problem, nor am I sure why things have returned to normal. I'm going to assume that Osmose did some magic. Until he shows up and fills us in (or until whoever is responsible does so), we'll live with the thought that this is a miracle.

However, issue temporary fixed. The VERY issue now will be to understand how to prevent this, Osmose already knows the kind of problem.
IT was not about permissions, it was not about passwords, it was not about our codes.... seems to be SMF, or some big hole at hosting provider level.
But naturally, the hosting provider said there's nothing wrong on their side...

Whew! Though I still had hope Charas would be back, I also feared it was gone... forever.
Glad it's back alive.
While it was down, I also kept receiving a warning about malicious program, file or whatever whenever I opened Charas. Might have something to do with it, eh. But anyway, yeah, it's back.

Everytime I came here, I got a warning from my anti-virus blocking a trojan from losotrana.net or .com or something. That was probably the culprit. I just came back here today to check and it didn't pop up.

Just a comment: Charas is currently up because of a temporary fix. There's a chance that it will fall apart again sometime soon, so don't be surprised if it bombs again.
...and then Charas crashed again. Coincidence? I'll let you decide...

I've never ever had this issue with SMF forums I've hosted, or been a part of. There's either an issue with our version of SMF, or the server host.

I AM OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCING THAT I AM GOING TO CEASE THE BOT INVASION.
Im going to add reCaptcha to the site.
Perhaps and additional means of bot protection as well, if its needed.
Hopefully this will magically fix the threat of forum downtime as well.
