Title: Forming a team! (Voice actors, storywriters, spriters, artwork designers needed)
Post by: Igavustunne on December 01, 2009, 07:20:58 PM
Hi everyone... I am currently working on the fabric of an RPG which I plan on making with RPGMaker2003. Unlike in the past, when I or almost anyone has said that they are starting a game, I am actually planning on finishing mine. It will be a lot of work in my spare time and such, and like many people, I cannot handle every single job without cracking. I COULD sprite, I COULD completely write the story by hand, but I'm almost winging it right now. I have an outline for a story already made up, and I need to put it to work.

At times, I am not exactly the best at winging anything. So, I need people to back me up as I go along. In general, it will mean I will need some spritework done, voice acting when it comes time, storywriters who can help to improve my ideas, skill namers, etc. A small group of people that I can work with to accomplish this task is what I need right now. So if you would like to help out, please leave some information here. I'll get back to you as fast as I can.

Thanks, and hope someone is interested!

Does anyone reads the "Rules and Welcome" sticky here? Anyway, let me quote it for you.
Mini Teams is for people who wish to create a team, to help others in their RPGmaker experience. Please read the following list carefully.

1. Mini-Teams is not for recruiting members for your game.

2. Do not let your thread get spammed or flamed. If you can not help this, your thread will be locked.

3. As stated in other threads, do not leave your thread un-attended, if it is never updated and drops down the list too far, it will be locked.

4. Check around the other teams and mini-teams to see if the team you want to make already exists.

Rule number one is a new rule, so I'm going to explain it so no one gets confused. Mini-teams are only here for members to help other members, recruiting people for your own game is only helping yourself.

Thank you for reading, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

See number 1 there?
1. Mini-Teams is not for recruiting members for your game.

Make this thread again, but this time do it on the "Requests" area. (:
You could try AoA too, but requests would probably be better.

My bad. I realized shortly after posting anyway that this particular forum is not very active, and that I would try my chances elsewhere. Sometimes I suck at reading things. :P

To be honest, few RPG Maker forums are that busy these days. However, I'm sure
people on here will still be willing to help. There's some real talent around these parts.

I'm not trying to be condescending when I say that. While there are people who have finished a game on RPG Maker, but not many. Some people release a short version or a demo, saying they'll finish it, and will never complete it. If I offended someone, then I apologize.

I've started at least 5 things with RPGMaker, and the first 4 of them I got done doing a minimal amount of work before getting distracted by another game or idea. I meant I am going to work my butt off on this game until it is finished to the fullest extent, even if it means making a ton of side quests and a 10-20 hour storyline. The story idea I have can easily be made into a long and epic story.

@zuhane
I'm probably not going to use this forum as an outlet for advertising my need for people to assist me. It isn't extremely active, and the chances are slim, however there are plenty of people here with a lot of skill for RM2k3 that can help as I need it, which is pretty cool.

I too am trying to work out a team, however my ideas are not rock solid, i am wiling to ammend mine so that i may work with someone else.   I have had to create my own sprties from scratch (and they didn't look like NES sprites either), i have some ability to make and modify music (with the software i have, copyright laws may be in effect if used for money), story ideas can come a dime a dozen to me, improveing on ANY idea happens to be one of my greatest talents (for example:  a battle animation looks cool sounds cool but is not look or sound correctly for what it is used for, i then mod it to keep the style awesome while making it realistic, other examples include adding realism to a character, createing original entire classes for characters and so on...)  I can lose track of time working on events (scripts, triggers programing).  I also have LOTS of time,  and need something productive to do.  i am good at pretty much anything to the point of being decent at it, however making something incredibly awesome and totally differnt (unless your talking coming up with ideas) i am going to have trouble with.  just letting you know ahead of time.

if you would like to work with me let me know!

Everybody plans on finishing their game, though.
And having the best characters and coolest minigames and the awesomest maps and the craziest plot twists. . . . yeah.
People are more likely to help if they see progress (you have no idea how many "I'm making an *insert anime/video game/book/cartoon* fan game! Make me charsets!" posts we getw ith nothing to show for it) and planning, so if you make a request, give tons of info, pictures, storyline. Anything you have.

Phayre, I junk binned this for a reason. He kicked an one year old thread that had been posted on the wrongboard. Yeaaaaah... You know, why the heck can you post on the junk bin? Thought it was a locked area, guess I was wrong. Damn these mod powers going all wonky lately.

Hm. Yeah. More stuff to look into.

Edit: okay, there was no posting restrictions whatsoever on this board before now. I set it to read only. Of course, since I'm an admin I have all the permissions. All of them. Which means I can do things like edit this post even though most people shouldn't be able to. So it's always a bit hard to see if what I did worked. Well, I guess time will tell.
