Speaking to Lucas over MSN, I find out he can edit Brawl skins. The idea popped in my head instantaniously.
I don't guarantee the idea will ever take of, but here are some random ideas we had:
Sai'Kar - Zelda/Sheik (It's a male whose female avatar occasionaly pretends to be male!)
Warxe - Isaac (Assist trophy)
Grandy - Ike (Only character whose body fit)
Lucas - Pokemon Trainer
Xen - Charizard
Archem - Mr. Resetti (Assist Tropy and the only character that fit archem's body)
Alex - Lyn (Assist Trophy and bishounen)
Raffles - Ganondorf
Darkfox - Star Fox
Around this time we kind of ran out of ideas.

Yes. The face is not just one big texture, several pieces are scattered on the sheet, and the game itself assembles the face of squirtle. Every character has only one eye texture (per form), and Brawl just duplicates it on both sides.
By per form, I mean there is a single eye texture for normal form, and one eye for when the character has a smash aura.
The most that can be done to models themselves at the moment is to remove bits and pieces. I, forinstance, just finally managed to get off Falco's headpiece for my own Chicken Man skin.

Maybe, but those eyes are just specks. Can't you move them to the outward edges of where the squirtile's much larger eyes are meant to be (which, by the way, reaches just to the corners of the mouth)?

I'm pretty sure they're mirrored. Either that, or the 2 eyes are present on the same texture map.
(EDIT: After checking, yes, those eyes definitely look mirrored.)

I hope to learn enough of moveset coding to be able to remove the transformation part of Samus' final smash, keeping the lazer, but ditching the generation of throwable items and the transformation itself, making the two seperate characters.

I'm going to *TRY* to drag the eyes all the way to the side. But even if it works the way you guys think it does... There's only a few pixels that I can move them.
EDIT: No difference. Remember that squirtle's eye are right on top of his OLD mouth. I made his mouth wider, but I still cant change the eyes location.

If you could remove his arms but leave his hands, it would be good too, considering your current avatar do have hands. Or even better, removing all, but having his hands appear only when he has to use them, but that I guess would be either too complicated or just impossible to do.

I talked to Ed, and it seems quite possible. It's a little more complicated than just retexturing, but basically he says it'd be possible to move the poligons on characters slightly. Squirtle's arms could be moved to inside it's shell, or just have the poligons all stand in the same pixel as to be invisible.

1. Because I have a feeling that by playing around with his square brick model, I can make it his real model, and by then, I'll have a good idea of the moveset coding.
2. Nah, really, it was just a hobby I had for a while, which Lucas got into, spread to Grandy, I think, and then Lucas and Grandy concieved the idea, and I have absolutely nothing better to do with my time.
My real goal is to create a decent-sized roster, complete with character select, in-battle, and name graphics for all of the members involved. (But really, I just want to see how badly I can mess up Nintendo's current greatest game (besides Melee.))

You can just give out Pit blond hair, red toga and a grin and that'll be my avatar. Infact I just noticed how Pit's body resembles Viral's a bit. Side from the proportion, wings, and blade. But if Gurren Lagan made Viral a rockstar why cant I make him into a sort of underwordly winged creature.

Characters have multiple costumes. You could easily probably fit into another Ike slot. Or marth.

Actually joining one of the projects here and doing for the community, it feels pretty good, I tell ya. I think I didn't join any of the other ones like chain games and stuff. I joined some but left them all. Maybe I can finish this one?

I myself don't care that much for personal themes, but am doing a little modifications of my own because I dislike the song choises of many stages. Goodbie Tetris B, welcome Super Mario World Ghost House.

The top hat is giving me a bit of trouble. First, I created a large spike jetting out of Wario's head, and now I've got a divot in it, like a dented car door. So, progress for me is pretty slow, Hobo. D=
As for the red/white combo idea, that sound great, a bit iffy because Popo and Nana share the exact same faces. I have heard rumors of a modified version to support different faces, though, I may look into it after my little model work.
And that suggestion of putting the top hat on Red, I'm afraid, is not doable. In order to put something on a character's head, there must already be something there to replace, and I don't know if the Ice Climbers have any polygons atop their heads.

I've seen two Naruto ones using that dog ninja person and another person who was not the dog ninja person. They had faces.

You're gonna need brawlbox to extract the textures though. You can find it here.

You can also use it to preview stuff, import textures back, and even export models if you know how to edit them.

Fixed.
There is currently no way to import edited MODELs back into Brawl at the moment. You can, however, export and import Vertices back into Brawl. Vertices are the corners of models, so shifting them around will change the model's structure. However, there is currently no way to edit models clearly. The best you can get is moving dots around on a map, and hope you're moving the right ones.
Rumor is that a model injector is well on it's way, once it is complete, vertices editing will be obsolete, and we'll be able to edit actual models.

Hey Lucas, you know how you sent me that Squirtle through MSN, and how you told me how to bipass the MSN's constant bickering for me todownload the antivirus fobiding me from getting the file, and how we laughed at it once I got the file by fooling the MSN that Paint was an antivirus?
Yeah, the Squirtle was infected. I'm doing a full scan as we speak and my mouse is all glitchy and stuff, but everything seems under control. Except when it activated, it kind of shut down the pc by itself.
Just sayin', you better get an antivirus yoursef, I think you may have the same problems soon.

No way. I was just recently attacked myself by a virus. But I'm not sure how long it had been since Lucas sent me that squirtle. It was a couple of days ago. If it's Vundo/virtumonde, use Malwarebyte's Anti-malware. Cleared it right up.
You guys seriously ignored setting up a legit virus scanner for MSN? One of the main reasons it took me so long to get MSn was the stories I had been told about how it was a breeding ground for this kind of thing. They can exploit holes in the program and send themselves with any file you send. I have AVG attached to my MSN, but at least it scanned each file I've recieved so far.

Okay guys a few things before and if my conputer freezes again:
Lucas, it was the squirtle AND the trainer that I downloaded through MSN, and my computer froze shoirtly after, even so I'm not sure either of them were infected, perhaps it was just bad timing and there was a virus already.
Also, reading awile back, Lucario's eyes can be painted black, I know because I got myself a skin based on Renamon, the white part of the eye was black.

Also, reading awile back, Lucario's eyes can be painted black, I know because I got myself a skin based on Renamon, the white part of the eye was black.
If its that easy, go do it! :P

I sure hope this won't end up like pretty much everything else any Charasian(s) started. I really want to see the result of Wolf transformed into Cerebus, especially the mask part, although my guess is that it will be impossible to do.

To be honest, I have been trying to get Hobo's hat to work, but I have tried every vertice and nothing works at this point. I may just have to give it up for now, make a plain Hobo skin, and then when editing actual models is possible, return to it someday.
But I've also started moving a bit forward in life as well, I'm finally looking for a job and finding a place to live. I do have plenty of time during the day, but I'm usually too busy preparing for other things. All it really takes is an afternoon, but I just don't really have the motivation to do this when others things are so much more important right now.

Well at least you admit you lost motivation as well instead of simply blaming the fact that real life took away all your free time like someone did when he could not complete what he was working on.
But yeah, I guess real life is more important than recolouring SSBB characters, too.

I believe by painting black that area of the eyes that show as transparent in Photoshop.

Roy has been replaced by Ike in SSBB. But I think both Marth and Ike were chosen already. And I'm not sure this will continue, unfortunately.

No no, I meant that the Roy ZKX referred to were probably his character and not the fire emblem character as Linkforce seemed to think.
So, I meant the other way around.

I'm still alive. 'twas but a flesh wound, but my Wii is badly hurt and currently only plays WiiWare and VC, so I can't really mod that much (or rather I could, but since I wouldn't be able to test it I'd rather not.)
