Uggy Barfoo

(1/1)

Enduo_Ril:
If you've seen some of my old stuff in the complete resources section, you might notice that I occasionally mentioned working on a game called "Uggy Barfoo."  Well, I was working on that, but I just never got around to posting demos, screenshots, or anything like that... and now it's pretty much an abandoned project, and I haven't touched it in years (last time I worked on the game was back in 2005.)

However, I actually did get a pretty big chunk of it done, and up until now I've never actually uploaded a demo anywhere so that people could actually play the thing.  I figure since I got so much of it done I should at least do that, even if it'll never get finished (remade, maybe... but Uggy Barfoo as it exists today will never be finished.)

Story:Astronauts visit the moon... and instead of just a barren gray rock, they find old ruins and a strange box.  After finding that he's unable to open the box, a particularly unintelligent member of the team punches it... causing the crystal on the top of it to break and an ancient evil to be unleashed: Ma-Du Nebozu, the Lord of Moronism...

Following this event, several people from throughout the United States discover "Orbs" which contain the spirits and power of the ancient Hudawuda warriors, who were responsible for sealing away Nebozu on the moon many years ago with the aid of the bunny-spirit J'daahi Bunprego.  Using these Orbs, they are able to take on the form and powers of various warriors, such as the Wizard, Gunner, Summoner, Foodfighter, and Ninja.  Can they stop Nebozu and the forces of stupidity from ruling the world?

Features:
* Class-change system using the Orbs; each of the major characters has around 5 classes to use, with a few available as soon as you get their Orbs and the rest gained throughout the game
* Several optional hidden characters, one of which uses her own Orb like the main characters
* Loads and loads of weapons to choose from (though sadly, most of them are pretty boringly named...)
* Really weird enemies, a few of which I actually drew myself
* It's pretty long, though unfinished
* Silly casino minigames (though only reachable in the second half)
* Various silly hidden things everywhere, like a strip club type place that you can only get into with a membership card that a certain rare enemy drops
* Inside jokes from 2004-2005 that you probably won't get at all
* You get to fight a giant killer Barney!
* ...yeah, I'm kind of running out of ideas for stuff to put here

Main Characters:
* Enduo Ril: A fairly ordinary fat guy living in the middle-of-nowhere town of Nifclont.  When an unexplained explosion goes off in the forest outside of town, he and Joguo head off to investigate.  Before gaining the power of the Orange Orb, he fights mainly by stabbing his opponents with pens and using the dreaded "Blubber Slam."  My username here comes from his name, not the other way around.
* Joguo Goueng-Zu: A fairly ordinary guy living in the middle-of-nowhere town of Nifclont.  Well, normal aside from the blue hair, anyway.  Like Enduo, he heads off into the forest to figure out what's going on at the beginning of the game.  Has no special skills before gaining the power of the Blue Orb.
* Jakarjo Fosuda: Hailing from the town of Yoa, Jakarjo left home and wandered far to the north in search of a cave he had seen in his dreams.  Like Joguo, he has no special skills without the power of his Orb (though he starts out abnormally high-leveled for the part of the game where you get him, due to his previous adventures.)
* Mejuai Hanyeo: A girl who lives on a hill above the city of Vinctogon.  There are rumors going around that she belongs to an alien species, though nobody knows if it's true or not.  Like the previous two, she has no special skills without the aid of her Orb.
* Robert Yellik: A young Booger Fighter-in-training who lives in the town of Wohgsa, home of the legendary Mr. Bugar's school.  He's a bit impulsive and tends to go wandering off on his own quite a bit, and he's also pretty powerful even without his Orb thanks to his Booger Techniques.

Here's a few screenshots (which are, somewhat disproportionately, from only the earliest and latest parts of the game... mainly because I don't have any mid-game save files sitting around. XD)
