Where MAKING THIS HAPEN!
-
Ummm....
What would "this" be? A smiley or banner contest?
-
Where as opposed to We're?
-
I'm holding steadfast that someone is going to get this reference.
-
Anything involving hugs?
-
Googled and found nothing, if google doesn't know you, you don't exist. Sorry.
-
I'm holding steadfast that someone is going to get this reference.
youget the new hot game everyones buzzing about these days

I'm holding steadfast that someone is going to get this reference.
You call that an obscure reference? I'll give you obscure reference!
MIDNIGHT KNOCKERS!!!
-
I never said it was obscure. It's just awesome!
-
I never said it was obscure. It's just awesome!
And yet it's obscure.
Sweetbroandhellajeff
Just to ruin the fun.
-
"The fun" is mostly me knowing there at least a couple people on this forum with any sort of class. So thank you.
-
Like math class, so glad I don't have one of those :smoke:
-
You're all haooens.
It's an obscure reference too please no deleting my posts Stu
(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
And then, Stu was cool again.

Harvey I love yoooou
I TOLD YOU MAN
-
I doubt that MSPA is classy, but thanks for this! Great fun :D
-
Alright I give up...what?
-
I doubt that MSPA is classy, but thanks for this! Great fun :D
The way I see it, any webcomic with full color, animation, and some pretty sick music is about as classy as it gets.
Everyone else:
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6
Takes a while to get going, but it gets extremely interesting when it does.
-
Oh, this. I tinkered with it for a few minutes before. Lost interest.
-
The weak only strive to be weaker.
-
MAKING. THIS. HAPPEN.
Those of you who do not follow MSPA are officially missing out on pretty much the best thing on the internet.
-
It's true. Best thing ever happened just recently. Out of context its nice to look at but wouldn't be nearly as good.
-
Before this thread gets old and I get my ass kicked for posting in it.
Sai'Kar, thank you. Thank you for introducing me to MS Paint Adventures. This is awesome.
-
If but one person partakes in this awesomeness while it is occurring, I have done my duty. Quite welcome.
I'm fighting down the urge to make Homestuck sprites. They'd be totally useless, but I kind of want to do it anyway.
-
Go for gold, man.
I almost want to draw the WV.
-
Wow, that was epic at the end. Very nice.
-
WV: Ascend.
Made me shed a manly tear.
-
OH THE BRUTALITY
-
Oh, this. I tinkered with it for a few minutes before. Lost interest.
Well, that sucks, because it gets REALLY interestin.
I'm contemplating designing this into an actual engine, because it sounds like an oddly good game, especially seeing as most of the mechanics are actually laid out.
-
Been a rough couple of days for our heroes :(
-
Well, that sucks, because it gets REALLY interestin.
I'm sorry, but I looked at it again. Lost interest. Again.
Maybe my imagination is extremely selective...?
-
*shrugs*
*gets mauled by a rapping puppet*
-
The thing about MSAP is, while a lot of the beginning is boring and slow, the later part contains some of the sickest animations I've ever seen and generally blow every other webcomic out of the water. But they only make sense in context - there's no real way to show someone a MSPA animation if they're not keeping up with the story and have it mean anything to them. So I'd strongly recommend you slog through all the nonsense at the beginning so you can reap the rewards later on.
-
After the first chapter it REALLY picks up.
Probably some of the best story telling I've seen in a webcomic.
Also, I haven't really checked much out besides Homestuck...are the others any good?
-
Problem Sleuth is Homestuck-ish in the sense that it takes a while to get rolling, though I found the beginning more entertaining. Also has very cool ending scenes.
The other two are just flat terrible though.
-
I've mainly checked out Problem Sleuth. I enjoyed it.
-
Holy freakin' crap at today's update!
-
Yes, that was awesome.
Extremely.
Like, omfg that was awesome.
Is it just me or does the supposed leader of the "dark" side look quite a bit like The Midnight Crew?
-
Woah plot twist wtf.
-
Yeah, she's clearly a freakin' loony.
-
We should rename this thread to "Sai and Fruck and sometimes uber and razor talk about a webcomic".
-
Oh just suck it up and force yourself through the first hour or so of comics. The payout is extremely worth it and you'll be able to join in!
-
Arggghhh! Please change it to "we're"!
-
It's a direct quote from the comic. Not a typo!
-

I've been reading them. They're intriguing. I don't feel like talking about them, though.
Freak of nature.
-
It's a direct quote from the comic. Not a typo!
My bad :p
-
Yes, you are.
-
Sweet bro and hella jeff is pretty cool. Couldn't care less about acutal MSPA though.
-
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=pony :D
-
Whoa, where'd you find that?
-
Someone posted it on the forums for that webcomic. I just saw it in passing.
Obviously not canon but still pretty awesome.
-
Hahaha that was awesome.
I presume you've checked out the trickster's code thing, too?
-
The what now?

Oh that, yeah. That was an aeon or so ago. I found the Control-T thing cuz it says it somewhere on one of the cliffs.
-
Goddammit Jade, stop being weird.
You keep breaking all of the combos.
-
What this is so outrageous.
-
VODKA MUTINI :D
-
Mutie for short.
Also: John is scaring me.
-
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA GOOD JOKE!
-
Yeah every update for like the past two weeks has been very WTF-ish so I'm clinging to the few things I understand, such as an extremely chill four-eyed kitten.
-
Jade is quickly becoming my least favourite character.
-
She's been mine since day one. It seems like she's only in the story to make things more random and confusing. She doesn't really do anything other than weird stupid crap. The whole dreambot thing was the last straw.
Bed the ultrapuppy is cool though.
-
The website change just scared the piss out of me.
-
They released some new music. I'm probably going to buy it out of general support for what's easily the best webcomic ever. The full version of Upward Movement (Dave Owns) is one of the most epic tracks I've ever heard period.

What about... EA, or UC?
If its better than those I might have to check out this comic some time.
-
Do it. Now.
-
Though I'm really starting to dislike Jade and her weirdness :(
-
OMGWTF LIGHT KINGDOM?!
Yeah, I kind of disliked that.
-
You guys need a better sense of imagination.
-
I just don't like how she's basically the uber kid right now.
It feels kind of unfair.
-
Haven't we seen the other characters enjoy their moments in the limelight? I suppose it's only fair that she gets a turn.
-
True.
I miss Dave though :(
-
I miss the puppets.
-
Puppet rap(e) is fun.
-
I wannna see Dave's kernelsprite.
-
I wanna see Jade be written out of the story, or at least not focus entirely on her for a few weeks or so.
-
..... the mailperson is a girl?
-
Apparently.
-
I wanna see Jade be written out of the story, or at least not focus entirely on her for a few weeks or so.
I'd like to see everyone else written out of the story.
Not really, but all your whining is obnoxious as hell.

Hey, the fights done.
That's really all there is to say on the matter.
-
Epic ending was epic.
-
Owned (http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002999).
My favorite troll so far is Rose's.
-
Owned HARD.
I think Dave is my favorite.
-
So! Theories!
Who do you think these trolls are, bothering our kids?
One thing for sure, they're almost certainly not bored people on the internet harassing for kicks. When is it THAT simple with MSPA?
-
Man, I don't know. If its some sort of evil scheme, it's a crappy one.
-
And now the Aimless Renegade has some relation to Jade's grandfather
-
My guess is that he's just finding all of Gramps's stuff.
-
1 - I just read quite a lot of MSPA. I didnt like it that much.
2 - Every time you look at Fruckert's sig, from now on, you will remember mine.
-
52 pages is not a lot, considering that he updates like 5 times a day on average.
-
Baby Jade is adorable.
Not as much as baby Rose...but still.
EDIT: Also, these implications are very...bizarre.
Jade, to meet John, sent a present to the future, for a...thing obsessed with mail to send back in the past the present that John sent
-
Oh good, MORE TIME TRAVEL
-
My ENTHUSIASM is waning.
Still going to read it though, because badass moments like the last flash keep happening.
-
Yeah, this is all becoming a bit much. It feels like it's been forever and a day since this story made any sense. :(
-
Let's just hope Act 3 is the time travel act like Season 5 was Lost's time travel season.
More John's Dad!
-
Well after an hour, I went back at watching something that rather made laugh than just wonder what I am watching.
It was amusing at first but then it got blehish. I don't doubt it gets more interesting, but I rather play CoD then trying to reach to a point in this where l I'll say, "Gee I am glad I went through all that crap to get to this point."
-
lolololol @ the most recent update. Finally shifted back to some awesome.
-
At least this thread is weeding out the weak
-
Or harversting the lame. However you wanna look at it. In the world there really is no difference.
-
To be honest, I've stopped reading the letters and the pesterchum conversations. They're too drawn out.
-
And repeated.
-
Self referential humor is a go! This topic's name quote returns!
-
I haven't been around for a couple of dayys and that's the ONLY update I missed, and yet, I am not disappointed.
-
****ing hell.
As an aspiring Flash animator it's hard to even imagine being AN IOTA AS GOOD AS ANDREW HUSSIE DID YOU SEE THAT UPDATE HOLY ****
I love this man
-
That was epic.
All I can say.
Cat-thulhu is weird.
-
Rose is a stone cold badass. That's all there really is to say on the matter.
-
o-o That is all.
-
I'm enjoying this interlude, if only for the nostalgic feelings of Problem Sleuth.

That oven isn't going to last long.
-
It didn't.
-
Finally...
Oh, also I get lagged to hell on this latest game that got put up, but I can definitely tell why the intermission went on as long as it did.
-
Hussie is amazing. That is all.
-
So much technical crap and so many pesterchum convos. At least John's cheating.
-
k, story got weird again. Dave and Rose are playing the game and have gotten pretty far in four months, but John and Jade are dead in this future? What?
-
It was a quick time jump. I suspect he's doing this just to set up some things to come.
TBH I got confused when he started mention dreamselves doing their own thing.

I FEEL FIT TO MENTION THAT THE LATEST ALBUM (http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/album/homestuck-vol-5) IS ABSOLUTELY kind of ok.
I don't know, I just don't like the songs in it as much as I thought that I would.
Still, 3 hours worth of music for 14 bucks is kind of a good deal.
-
I am still amazed by [S] Descend.
That song is fuckin' brill, too. How rad do you even have to be to make an animation work so well to set music.
-
You know, I am greatly enjoying the Troll saga.
Despite the Juggalo.

It continues to remind me of a good number of my friends. They dig that ****, and i can't figure out why.

Yeah I think this bunch of techno remixes and unused original music showed me that it's the animations and music that make Homestuck so awesome. The music, by itself, isn't all that amazing. I liked a small number of the remixes but a ton were flat, boring, repetitive, and showed no real skill. Not buying this album.
-
I actually like the new songs in it the most.
Like the Lotus ones.
The remixes rather bore me though.

Go to the MSPA forums.

Looks like nothing (important) at all: though it does coincide with Andrew's leaving for a week.

I need my fix, man. It's the 27th in Australia now, so only A SEMIROTATION OF THE EARTH until it is in Hussie land
By the way, on the MSPAF, do you need an account to see the pictures, cause I wanna see the rest of the Forapocalypse stuff that was uploaded before the whole thing happened, but they aren't visible.
-
It appears that the pictures aren't loading right.
Not sure why.
-
Well according to the source code, if you go to look at an image directly, you get redirected to the forum.

Eh I'm a lil played out on the troll arc. Gimme a flashy animated finale and let's be back on with the rest of the characters.
-
You should think yourself lucky that he is abridging a lot of it.
But I don't want the troll arc over so fast. I don't want homestuck to end.
sadface.jpg
-
Ok, now I KNOW he's making up half of this as he goes.
-
I lost all interest on the 700th troll intro.
-
700, 10, what's the difference.
Meanwhile, Hussie comes up with new ways to make me hate AG.
-
I quite like AG ever since SHE HAS WHAT!?
-
Wait what?
Furthermore, after this update right now (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004265) I don't hate her so much
-
Ok, now I KNOW he's making up half of this as he goes.
-
So... bored of this arc... :(
-
Though I'm sure none of you are reading anymore *cough cough complainers* it's interesting to note that CC's (Feferi's) cuttlefish are very similar to Rose's squiggle squid thingies. The one she bastardised on her shirt.
-
The only time I got sick of anything was with all the troll romance ****.
Yes, it added character, but you shouldn't need to take three entire days to discuss romance. It just felt awkward.
I do find that kind of interesting, though.
Think it'll show significance?
-
I'm only annoyed with the endless Trollian chats. I mean, I like reading these things, but I'd prefer if they were broken up into two or three pages. I seem to be a bit too pre-occupied to sit and read a whole entry without taking a break these days, so it's a real inconvenience.
-
Actually TBH even I'm getting a bit jaded with the introduction of these last two trolls.
But that's probably because they haven't had much story presense as to make me want to know them.
-
Fruckert this is important
does the pesterchum app work and is it awesome
-
Yes it works, and it's pretty awesome, although I'm personally not very prone to using it, as I'm not a huge part of the MSPA community.
(Links (http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?30475-ChumHandles) here (http://www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?30473-MILESTONE!-Pesterchum-2.0))
Note: If you add yourself to the Pesterchum/Fans page on the MSPA wiki, you're probably going to get "trolled", as lots of people have trollTags, and like to roleplay.
-
That is awesome. I may have to acquire this.
-
Wow...look at the names of the demo characters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj9COPsEsoc&feature=sub).

While showing off the Zodiac, no less.

And that you've ruined it for everyone with your knowledge that we should all have

good job fixing it hero

After you download it, double click on the run.cmd file.
Once the window is up, it'll also run in the tray, so you can close the main window.
The buttons should be pretty easy to figure out.
chumHandles have to be in camelCase, just as in the comic. The little [c] button next to the "My chumHandle" is the colour selector.
You're going to have to add people in order to talk to them, of course.
There's a big repository at here (http://mspa.wikia.com/Pesterchum/Fans), as well as the first half of that link.
Unfortunately, I don't think Andrew uses it.
-
Well it wasn't working initiallyy, but then I registered a name on the irc.skaia.net and it worked so, yeah
-
What the ****ing **** (http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/album/squiddles)?
-
That first song is surprisingly good.
Now to listen to the rest and etc
up to song 7. I'm really liking this album
listened to the whole thing, its pretty good
-
Oh man, these Karkat memos are hilarious.
-
I agree
-
Gosh Sai, this must please you.
-
What, the end being here? Yeah, pretty much. The only one of the trolls I ever liked was Karkat, and I liked him before this entire arc. He has that incredibly bitter frustrated thing going on that's so hilarious. The rest of this month or so feels like it was spent throwing new characters at us, trying to explain that they have VERY DIFFERENT ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS (even though they're just basically lust, deep love, casual friendship, and long-term friendship, but hey, it's alien and we're not supposed to understand or some BS) in an already-too-complicated storyline with tons of other characters.
But mostly I just liked this webcomic more when it was about the kids. John's clueness and his worries about his dad, Rose's sass and bizarre house and her forest fire, Dave's attitude and his downtown pad, even Jade's quirkiness and weird volcanic island. It feels like the trolls mostly just ended up reusing some of the better quirks from the first four kids. Especially Jade, her personality got ripped apart and turned into like 4 of the girl trolls. I wanted to get back to the characters I care bout, not these ***hole trolls that just sort of like being jerks. I mean, come on, that shtick gets boring with one character doing it, but a DOZEN? Agggh what was he thinking?
The Karkat memos were freaking hilarious though, I'll admit that.
Quick reply box is too small for writing long posts like this.
-
Cannot BELIEVE that that flash animation wasn't the end of the troll arc! If I do myself in with a dinner fork, Razor gets my stuff.
-
Don't worry Sai, troll arc is ending. They skipped to the end
-
Uh...where was the buildup to that?
Seriously, **** like this kind of needs to be explained.
"THE TROLLS MADE OUR UNIVERSE BLUH"
...how?
-
JOHN. FINALLY. JOHN.
-
THERE IS HOPE IN OUR TIME.
So I'm guessing that the spades in Karkat's eyes at the end of the flash are some sort of troll bromance. I could settle this if I tracked down the (... two) comics that explain troll romance, but yeah, that's not happening.
-
I thought the ACT 5: ACT 2 was Hussie pulling the ultimate troll. "OH YOU THOUGHT THE TROLL ARC WAS OVER? HAVE SOME MORE!"
But it wasn't, sort of. The kids are back, according to his formspring this is the kid centric half of Act 5. It only took 98 days!
I loved today's pesterlog, can't wait to see more in the future.
-
TG: its like they heard somebody over here was handing out asses and theyve known nothing but years of bitter ass famine
I've missed Dave.
-
True dat
-
He's coming off as kind of an ***hole right now.
-
I think I might be actually done with this comic for good. I just opened it up after a few days and all I see on the recent updates bar is "Troll: do something stupid." After reading the creator's rant about how the trolls were part of the original design process and are now officially entwined into the plot to the point of no return, I just don't think I care muster up the enthusiasm to read a never-ending troll arc.
-
I have to agree with you...the cast of characters is waaaaay too large to feasibly follow without having a ****ing crazy *** pace.
It doesn't help that a lot of the trolls personalities chalk up to "They're not human, so they're weird!"
-
Stop bitching. I like it plenty.
-
This train we're on makes no stops.
Frankly, Dave went back in time and gave himself the thumbsup. I don't see the problem.
-
Well, that was awesome.
-
Yes. For those who may have stopped reading, there's a rather fantastic RPG Flash update right now. It's ALL troll, but the music is really great. Also, Ctrl+T
-
Also, you know when John landed on LOWAS?
This thing has like, at least four times the content.
-
Okay, I finally manned the hell up and caught up. The Dave / John / Karkat memo was absolutely awesome, but I think that's mostly just because Dave's awesome. Flash game was okay but it was just mostly talking and a bunch of stupid chests and the lack of hitting imps with hammers made it not nearly as awesome as LOWAS.
-
Did you Control+T? You gotta ctrlT.
-
Yes yes.
-
Slight spoiler but you should have all seen it by now anyway
I think Rose and Jasper's goodbye is only made sadder by the fact they are both smiling.
Also, that was the first time I've watched that ICP Miracles (MiRaClEs?) video.
You mean they are both white and there's only two of them?
-
Blasphemy.
Rose and Jasper's goodbye isn't sad though. It's just touching. They're parting on good terms. Neither of them is dead (well, Jaspers isn't any more dead than he has been for a while) and we'll prolly see the little guy sooner or later again anyway. And if it comes to it, they can talk on pesterchum, and Rose still has that summony bracelet thing.
-
Maybe. I don't know. I just don't like goodbyes.
And man what has happened to our little Rose. All that negative alternate future/dreams of the big nasty gods have warped her endlessly.
-
Andrew Hussie acid trip.
-
Rainbow Road, is that you?
Edit: actually, the ending part sort of reminds me of the ending of Earthbound, which is a known inspiration for this whole comic.
-
...what the **** just happened?
First I was like "****, this is going to suck" and then the bad trip happened.
-
I've been reading for hours and have only managed to get part way through the detective thing. They're fighting the mega boss in space on the ship whilst the dames do the thin/fat thing with the doors and clothes and the projector.
Anyway, what I've seen so far is totally awesome.
-
I've read like 150 of them and got bored. Fruck was all "Ohh no, but you have to read like 400 before it gets interesting!"
Well, here's a fact. If I gotta drag myself through four. hundred. ****ing. comics. before it gets fun... Sorry, I won't be having any fun >_>
-
It's pages.
They have like a sentence on them unless there's a chat which you can usually skim.
-
I thought it was funny pretty much from the beginning. Well, of Problem Sleuth anyway. Homestuck took a while longer.
-
Man, those chats were awfully boring. All of them. :/
Edit: Eh. Charas's : (http://sd)s is very weird. A mad :s. Instead of the regular sad confused one.
-
The chats suck.
At least you weren't there for the troll saga.
Which had a novella of bullshit romantic explanation.
-
I've enjoyed every irritating second of all this horseshit.
I mean, except for the recaps that show up from time to time. I feel obligated to read them, though. Sigh.
-
Jesus **** that last flash was messed up.
I just had a nightmare aneurysm
-
It was my favorite of the lot.
-
Man, those chats were awfully boring. All of them. :/
The chats suck.
You are both bad people; the chats are good. Usually enough plot to keep you satisfied, but to keep you interested.
And then there are the other chats which are hilarious, like those troll memos, or the daveXmost people logs. Those are the best.
It was with glorious mirth that I read the Dave and Equius chat.
So this flash, ey? And to think I thought Hussie was just having a break for a few days. Nope! He was flashing it like a whore. Awesome.
All the horrors of the furthest ring...
I've been reading for hours and have only managed to get part way through the detective thing. They're fighting the mega boss in space on the ship whilst the dames do the thin/fat thing with the doors and clothes and the projector.
Anyway, what I've seen so far is totally awesome.
Oh man, Problem Sleuth is awesome. You should feel lucky to be reading it for the first time. I remember when I first found MSPA, I think it was up to arouund where you are now, or a few chapters before. I read the whole thing in a few days. Serious archive binging (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ArchiveBinge). **** was so cash.
-
I remember when I first started reading Problem Sleuth... I archive binged all the way from the first issue up to after the first time Vampire PS agressed with the scythe. Stopped there because there weren't anymore pages past that at the time.
And PS gave me the best birthday present ever: DMK finally died on my birthday.
-
Whoa, that is a pretty awesome birthday gift.
-
**** JUST GOT REAL
-
Holy...****ing...****.
It's official.
Nothing after Homestuck is going to be as good...this is Andrew Hussie's magnum opus.
ed: I feel so bad for Karkat.
-
It is nice to have stuff explained after this long of WTFing.
-
Holy...****ing...****.
It's official.
Nothing after Homestuck is going to be as good...this is Andrew Hussie's magnum opus.
The best part is that he said, if you consider Problem Sleuth to be a warmup to Homestuck, then he considers Homestuck to be a warmup to his next big thing.
How a 2+ year project can be a warmup is beyond me.
-
...****. Everything you know is a lie.
-
This whole multiple stories going at seperate speeds really does my head over. And the way he plans it so well, too.
So we're finally back at the exiles on Earth in 2422, directly after the last time we saw them, which was so many months ago. Meanwhile, at the exact same moment Karkat is having his (for Karkat that is) second conversation with John, about something that John hasn't even done yet, and won't do until shortly after their first conversation, which could be ages away!
I love this comic.
-
It's really only enjoyable once you realize he's planning convolution for convolution's sake and just stop worrying about things that don't make sense with the vague confidence it'll all make sense later. Trying to keep solid grips on everything otherwise is both pointless and kills the fun.
-
So this latest turn of events could be somewhat troublesome.
-
Do you refer to every enemy ever recieving Becpowers from the Becspriting?
-
Yes, yes I do.
Also, Dave is still the best character in this. If every strip was just Dave talking to random people, I'd be okay with everything.
-
This (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004908) has to be one of my favourite updates.
The sheer look of "WTF" on Jade's face is brilliant.
-
**** JUST GOT REALLER.
Now we know what Skaia looks like after the fourth prototyping.
The tumor is a bomb capable of destroying the universe.
Scratch wants to off himself.
Rose has a deathwish.
The Green Sun IS ****ing HUGE
-
At this point I'm just flatly amazed John's house is still standing.
-
Maybe the planet just doesn't rotate.
Ahhh, Kanaya, so nice.
But I Hope I Am Not The Only One Who Gets These Bizarre Pauses When Trying To Read Her Words.
-
I read it all at once, personally.
It makes her seem extra awkward.
-
Maybe pauses are not the right word I am looking for.
But I still read it a lot more weird than regular typing.
-
The trolls, have weird typing quirks?! Nonsense!
-
That was a delightful bit of nonsense.
-
I'm not sure if I've said it already but LOWAS is one of my totally favourite themes in this whole thing.
-
I want to know why Lotus Land Story (http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/lotus-land-story) hasn't popped up yet.
It's a very emotional song.
ed: JESUS ****ing CHRIST WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT UPDATE THAT WAS JUST WRONG
-
I'm not sure if I've said it already but LOWAS is one of my totally favourite themes in this whole thing.
Yeah, and I can't believe that this remix is as good, if not better, than the original oO
Actually, I mean I really don't see how this whole Homestuck thing can end well for everyone involved, but I hope these salamanders come out of it all right. They may be gaming abstractions, but at least they're friendly, quirky ones.
-
But but but this can't happen
Vriska's really determined to come out as the bluh bluh hugest bitch by the end of this.
But
if John survives, there's still hope for Bro.
-
There is no hope! It's a null session, he is already here, etc etc.
8888)
-
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
-
Do you know of any secrets in the second LOWAS game thingy? I wasn't able to find anything, unless beating on a uranium imp for ten minutes counts.
-
Nope.
I couldn't find anything.
There's probably something if you blow all of your money, though.
-
The past couple days have been animation-tastic. This one is very flashy, but I'm not quite sure what to make of it as far as practical storyline goes.
-
Yet another LOWAS remix, and John has become sort of dream-man.
According to my research, spending ALL of your money would take forever. And, once you get down to 2 boonbucks, you can't spend any more. But you can still give away thousands to your hatless friends, which makes you go into the negatives.
AND. Spoilers:
The T junction is more of a + junction.
Also:
Press Ctrl+T in the strife screen.
And if you can't figure that out:
It's an analogous riddle. What sounds match the cohort sounds of pap and nak?
And if you STILL don't know:
shoosh:doof
Also, there's a fair few implications from John's ascent.
John had to die in order for his dreamself to awaken as the true Heir of Breath and thus become more powerful by accessing the god tiers.
Similiarly, Vriska died IRL (at Aradia's hands) and got to the god tiers. Whether or not she became the Bitch of Hugeness or not, (I think falling asleep IRL on the stone bed has to trigger it) is another thing. But even if she did, she could have just ditched the fruity costume, as John will in the future (we've seen him in his first conversation with Karkat, right before he and his chums cause the rift).
ANYWAY. What I'm getting at is:
Dave is currently fine. He and his dreamself are alive and well.
But Jade's dreamself is dead, so she can't be the true Witch of Space.
And Rose is planning on killing her dreamself with The Tumor and The Green Sun. And if she does that, she'll **** up her chances at the god tiers too.
Probably. This is all speculation of course, and that's all part of the fun!
-
Yeah I totally didn't find any of that. And what's that riddle even based on?
Bitch of Hugeness
I think it's safe to assume she's got that one covered, God tiers or not.
-
Well dave's gator cohorts say nak all the time
and doof comes up sometimes
so did pap and shoosh with the salamanders
also
did you find them eventually or did you still not find them
-
I don't know what the hell you're talking about right now. Are we even on the same site? I should pay better attention or something.
-
No, I found them with your hints. I don't think I ever really saw the salamanders say more that bloop before though.
-
Why do I keep reading this topic when I don't follow MSPA? It just makes you all look thoroughly insane.
-
Thats why we read it. Its fun to watch them seem insane.
-
The doof nak thing is actually a Formspring meme.
Thing.
That Andrew is doing.
-
Pffft naysayers. You're missing out on webcomic media revolution here by not following Homestuck.
Oh, we kind of missed talking about this one, but we're all in agreement that Tavros has absolutely no chance at running Vriska through with his lance, newfound confidence and robolegs notwithstanding, yes?
-
Unfortunately, yes :(
-
Should have warned him about stairs.
-
In light of the current flash, John's clothing in this page (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004528) makes a lot more sense.

In light of the current flash, John's clothing in this page (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004528) makes a lot more sense.
Completely forgot about that.

Oh, that's the one I was talking about. GUESS I WAS WRONG ALL ALONG silly memory
But yeah. Hussie plans **** OUT.
Also note: John is in the LOHAC
-
So, now Aradia is dead, and likely never to return in any meaningful way. Maybe in an epilogue or something.
Man, Aries always get a bad wrap

And now, furries.

Geez I thought Jade would have been cooler with this
unless this is the Becquerel side of the combinationn talking

Just when we thought Jade couldn't possibly be more annoying >:(
-
Dude Sai bro
check out the new album
there are a couple of LOWAS remixes amongst others, particularly Heir Transparent is really good
Also The Nic Cage Song and the GameBro one are good for a laugh
-
Yeah it's not too bad. Still, I can't help miss the days when the music in the albums was, like, all in the webcomic and it felt less like random people promoting stuff I'd never heard of.
-
What in the **** is up with lesbo Jade?
p.s. i dont like the new album
-
What in the **** is up with lesbo Jade?
I think Jade is still my favorite character after that.
-
Self-lesbo Jade, at that...
-
It's a callback. Go back to the the "Equius puts Aradia's soul in a robot body" part and you'll see RoboAradia slapping the **** out of Equius, which Jade putting some sense into DreamJade mirrors, followed by RoboAradia laying the smooch on him. That was the joke.
The official reason is that for a moment there, Karkat lapsed into the 13 year old boy that he is, only to find himself disgusted over the thought.
I had quite the laugh at the whole HMMMMM thing. But he's pretty nuts to hate himself from hours ago/in the future.
-
GAH seriously, what the ****?
SO.
MANY.
DEATHS.
THIS IS ME RIGHT NOW (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/storyfiles/hs2/03346.gif)

I know, right? I hope something awesome happens soon, because
dead Tavros
has me saddened.
Drenrin, don't read that, it's spoilerific! Like he even peruses this thread...

Pew pew.

Karkat has conveyed my emotion perfectly.

D:
ed: This is all made slightly less disturbing by Karkat's "oh god oh man oh GOD oh MAN" late in the conversation.
Still though.
Who would've thought Gamzee would go all sorts of insane.

Yes, agreed.

Pretty much glad to see the character that sports my sign is still kicking ***.
Bah. My sign is useless fish lady.

For some reason Capricorn got the clown. Kind of strange since Capricorns are traditionally known as the serious, patient, practical types. But maybe it was just another attempt at foreshadowing.
-
Hussie plans **** OUT.
-
I just audibly gasped.
-
**** you, Hussie! **** you for toying with my emotions!
-
Wait... So Scratch is...
...
Hussie plans **** OUT.
-
A douchebag with white text.
-
That's what I was thinking.
If you were going to say First Guardian...that was said a long time ago.
Before we even knew what Bec was.
ed: lol
Wow that was so surprising.
I am absolutely shocked at this turn of events
-
A douchebag with white text.
The scandal of it all!
-
Wonderful writing there, Hussie.
ed: I was talking about the "THE POWER IS WITHIN WOOOH" ****.
-
I think Rose has finally meet her match in snarky dialog.
-
Alas, poor Rose.
-
Getting sick of all this dying horseshit, Hussie. Cut it out.
-
This is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through.
Well, not ever, more like in a while. Throughout the existence of HS.
-
This was unexpected and cool. It's good that grimdark Rose hasn't taken complete leave of her senses.
-
Poor Pillar Prospitan.
-
If only he wore less gaudy attire...
-
NOOOO JOOOOOOOOOOHN
-
I refuse to believe this.
-
John has to be sick of getting stabbed through the chest
-
John can't die like that. Remember what that white text dude said? God-tier people can only die if their death is just or heroic. John isn't a tyrant or anything so it's not just to kill him and getting stabbed like a punk isn't a heroic sacrifice. He'll be fine. Somehow.
(Yay, I'm actually starting to follow the plot!)
He's gotta be sick of it though.
-
we are 4 days away from the most important day of the year, and Andrew does not appear to have set himself up for ending the act, what with being busy and ****.
Perhaps in this expected Flash, Dave will reach God Tier the wrong way?

I agree, but I direct it at this entire thread. What is wrong with you people?!

There's a new album out, but it hasn't been announced in the news for some reason.
ed: It's extremely experimental sounding, and in my opinion, boring.
I'm not even sure why I brought up the fact that there's a new album up...I mean, same as ****ing always.
-
Apparently the new album was designed to mashup the two songs of each world so that they'd sound good together. Um, but why weren't they just released as mashups instead of separate, slow, rather boring songs?
MSPA has been slipping more slowly into comercialism, with songs unrelated to the comic being advertised there as somehow part of the experience. It's been tolerable since things have been pretty high quality. But the monthly albums that have nothing to do with anything, plus the failure for a really awesome 4/13 flash (the long, randomly note whining about how hard it is to time these is BS - come on dude, you set the date yourself. You had a year to plan this out) is stretching the coating a bit thin.
-
I started reading this and it basically owns in every way yeah. I'm up to the troll arc now. It's good apart from HOLY **** WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PESTERLOGS THEY'RE SO LONG WHYYY
-
Later on, Hussie starts breaking them down into more manageable chunks that span a few pages. I much prefer this method, since I feel like I'm progressing, and it's not as overwhelming. Plus, I can just save and leave if I'm short on time, or if it's getting a bit much.
-
So you can probably guess now why I changed my signature the way I did.
-
Because he's finally reading this? You know, I was reading it waaaay before he was, but I don't get any recognition? I call horseshit on that horseshit.
-
No but you see, here was a lad who was not like us. He had no interest in Homestuck. But then, he gave it a chance. He kept giving it a chance through the admittedly slow Act 1, and then he kept going and now he's become one of us.
-
Act 1 was pretty good actually. Pretty much all of it has been fine, the only time I was really annoyed at all was OH GOD SO MANY CONSECUTIVE TROLL PESTERLOGS **** OFF PLEASE AHH. But I'm past that now.
-
See? Act 1 was great. **** you guys and your need for fast-paced adventure games.
-
It had a steep learning curve. I don't think all the syadex-related stupidity was the best way to hook newcomers. It seems for every fan, there's someone who couldn't get past that. But Act 1 got jawsome and never looked back from the introduction of Dad onward.
-
Oh man
OH MAN
OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN THIS UPDATE
That was a level 9 Psyche right there. Hussie's gonna be filling out paperwork for weeks on that one.
And I refer primarily to the switcheroo at the beginning.
The rest of it was also pretty cool
-
Holy frick. And here I thought the guy was just AWOL or something.
"{S} Dave: Ascend to the highest point of the building." is, to date, still one of my favorite flash pages. I'm very happy for the homage.
-
I must be missing something.
-
After the "load" click on [S] Seer: Ascend.
Don't worry, I missed it too.
-
No, I saw. In fact, if you just sit there and let it load, it auto-loads the next page. I guess I'm just jaded, given that every long pause seems to culminate in a Flash moment. I'm just not blown away like I used to be.
Also: (http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9555/unled1my.jpg)
Unless, of course, you aren't auto-redirected after it finishes loading, and can see the single-frame message without problem.
-
I just liked the lack of [S], which as we all know by now denotes sound. And it looked like it was going to be a boring, soundless Flash.
BUT THEN: It loads a hidden [S] Flash. Everyone wins.
hahaha I accidentally triggered the strike code.
-
I caught on pretty fast. It was fine and all, but I was far from surprised.
-
Archem is trying too hard to be a coolkid.
-
So I caught up and stuff.
-
Archem is trying too hard to be a coolkid.
So hard it hurts.
Speaking of hard and hurting, I've got something to take care of.
-
so how about that KARKAT ANCESTOR
-
What makes you think that's Karkat's ancestor?
-
The crab-like horn stuff? Cancer? Bluh bluh huge switch?
-
I'm not buyin' it, at least not without stronger clues from the next pages. What does Karkat have to do with being a judge? Judge Tyranny was mentioned by Terezi way back when she was being introduced. He's a separate character. And, if I want to meta this a little bit, I'm pretty sure that the very concept of the trolls even having the ancestors hadn't been thought of at that point.
-
I'm not totally sure if I buy it, either. I'm just pointing out the likely reasons for Razor's conclusion.
-
Well I don't know the MUTANT CANDY BLOOD RED colouring gave me the idea.
Anyway, reading the forums, while Andrew himself seemingly mocked the idea of that being his ancestor, some of the fantheories were a little more compelling. And its not like Andrew is an easily read person.
Time will tell?
-
If he is, he is. As for me, I don't think there's nearly enough reason to suspect that. I try not to injulge in fandom too much - I find it warps the fans' sense of what's actually canon for the material.
-
I think today's update pretty much proves my point.
-
What, how he was killed offscreen the moment he appeared? You're probably right.
lol at Equius' ancestor being called "Darkleer"
-
He may need a towel.
-
I just finished
reading skimming all most of Homestuck.
I am confused to no end.
-
That's the normal state of things. I was going to do a situation summary before I realized that this comic has like 50 characters and I can't remember what more than a handful are up to.
-
Don't skim, it makes things a thousand times worse.
-
Don't skim, it makes things a thousand times worse.
Given how some of the chum pestering can lead to exceptionally verbose pages, not skimming is not an option.
I do understand the key points, though.
The four chums are going to try and blow up the Green Sun, which would make Jack Noir not be god-tier and thus make the game winnable.
Trolls are going currently through puberty which in their species means murderous ranpages, and that means quite a few of them are currently dying for good. Currently dead for good are:
Tavros
Nepeta
Equius
Feferi
Not dead are:
Karkat - Escaping Gamzee with Sollux
Sollux -blinded-
Aradia -risen to god tier, can only be killed in a just or heroic way-
Terezi -Few steps away from being killed by Gamzee-
Gamzee -Awakened his true blood thanks to Dave showing him a video of Insane Clown Posee, currently in a murderous ranpage-
Vriska - killed Tavros but feels bad for her backstabbing nature, is currently heavly ship-tease'd with John. Also, God-tier.
Eridan - Gave up all hope and decided to defect to Jack Noir's side to be spared.
Kanaya - Was dead but awakened as a troll-vampire.
All players are created by the game in order to be chosen ones for the game.
People who die irl can awaken as their dream-selves, if trolls die and still have a dream-self they can be revived.
Things I do not understand:
Who actually are the Midnight Crew
Lots of small details pertaining time traveling
How THIS KEEPS ON HAPENING BRO
-
Remarkably decent summary, best I can understand things myself. Only correction I can think of is that Eridan is also dead. Killed by crazed vampire Kanaya. Nepeta is maybe possible not dead since we never really saw her die, but it's a very safe bet at this point.
Who actually are the Midnight Crew
In the context of the story, they are archagents of Derse that do various nefarious things. Once Spade goes all regicide they basically take over running the badguy show.
Lots of small details pertaining time traveling
Really, it's better off not thinking too much about them.
How THIS KEEPS ON HAPENING BRO
It's because of the stairs. I warned you. I WARNED YOU ABOUT THE STAIRS.
-
Reading the wiki always makes me discover some obscure bullshit I would never normally pick up on. Like how all the Denizens are actually named after their respective kid's web browser. And that retarded looking snake thing in the foyer of Jade's house actually looks like the logo for John's web browser.
-
Remarkably decent summary, best I can understand things myself. Only correction I can think of is that Eridan is also dead. Killed by crazed vampire Kanaya.
Thank you. I forgot Eridan died, yeah. Honestly that happened so fast I was like (http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/03346_9258.jpg)
Nepeta is maybe possible not dead since we never really saw her die, but it's a very safe bet at this point.
Yeah, Gamzee was wearing her hat and he killed everyone up to that point. I'm afraid it doesn't et clearer than that.
However, this IS Homestuck. AFAIK she was past Nepeta that was supposed to die because of a 50/50 bet or somethin.
In the context of the story, they are archagents of Derse that do various nefarious things. Once Spade goes all regicide they basically take over running the badguy show.
Okay, but what's with the killing the time-controlling gangsters? I read that was actually Jack from the Troll's version of the game and that Snowball is their version of the dark queen, but how did they end up in that wherever it is?
Really, it's better off not thinking too much about them.
True enough. To be fair it's one of the heavy time-traveling plots that I'm least confused about.
also, one more doubt I remembered: How did Aradia die? The first time I mean. Her first appearance was already of a ghost.
I remember Vriska manipulating Sollux to do it, but I was confused because he was holding a pot of mind honey, and that seemed to be the present sollux then, the one who accidentally put mind honey in his mouth and went ciclops insane.
Also, take that paragraph out of context and imagine some random citizen tryiong to make heads out of tails of what I've written.
-

Spidertroll.

I could be wrong but I don't think enough has been made clear about this to make any real solid explanation just yet. It's sure to be a lot of time fuckery though.
-
We only just a couple of weeks ago saw Mr. Vanilla Milkshake start getting Jack into the Lord English role.
So yeah, probably lots of time fuckery.
ed: So, apparently I read that wrong or something, according to the wiki.
It still says that Lord English is still unknown.
-
Mad respex for Grandy
so mad
Anyway: Spades, Boxcars, Diamonds and Deuce are the trolls' session's equivelent to the kids' session's guys. The kids' Spades, Jack, killed the Black Queen with Jade's gift and became a superpowerful dude, whilst the trolls' Spades, Spades, worked with Karkat to exile their Black Queen. She was later met by Doc Scratch, given powers and recruited into Lord English's crew, The Felt. Spades Slick, after being exiled, forms the Midnight Crew with his friends from Derse. They left the session somehow and wind up on Alternia, and literally build the city somehow. It's then probably populated with Dersites and Prospitans, but that's just a theory. Then they have many adventures, and it's implied that they've had run ins with the Felt before, so this is likely set many many years after where we are with the trolls now.
Also we saw Nepeta's body recently, didn't we? Apparently not. Strange, I could've sworn we had...

We still have no idea. I think all we know from what Hussie has said, is that we have seen Lord English and that he is going to be one of the characters we've already seen.
But Jack/Slick (both of them) is too obvious, right?
We only just a couple of weeks ago
Actually that was the beginning of March. I love this comic.
-
Skimming was what killed it for me. When I learned to appreciate the humor, it became a million times better.
-
Yes. Pesterlogs may be long, perhaps even a little hard to sit through at times. Despite that, the humor exists in spades within those lengthy chats, and missing them is like missing half of the fun.
-
Well I ain't going back to the start and re-reading all that just to fill in the few pestering I skipped, that's for sure.
No, I'm instead going to skim over Problem Sleuth while I wait for this to update.
-
You can't skin Problem Sleuth, really. No massive essays worth of dialogue. No dialoge at all really.
-
Never underestimate my lazyness.
-
You're doing it so wrong, it's criminal.
-
Yeah, Gamzee was wearing her hat and he killed everyone up to that point. I'm afraid it doesn't et clearer than that.
Netapa had previously given the hat to Equius. He had put it on for their little roleplaying session before he went of to die to Gamzee, but he had sweated all over it like a creep and she didn't want it back so she told him to keep it.
-

But she attacked Gamzee.
I don't think he'd let her walk away.
-
I don't think so either, thus the "at least a 90% chance she's dead" thing. There's just an annoying lack of actual body. All the other characters that died offscreen, like Mom, Dad, and Bro, were at least seen once being dead.
-
True
-
This is Hussie we're talking about here. Nothing is ever certain ever.
-
John is really a ghost this entire time and the plot is just Rose reminiscing about a lost friend in some bizarre fanfiction about the Sburb beta.

-
John is also from the future and is really Jade's pen-pal.
-
John is also from the future and is really Jade's pen-pal.
Now theme the characters after certain mundane yet enigmatic game and/or pop-mythology, like checkers or king arthur's knights.
-
We've cracked the code for success.
-
Dave's pesterchum tag is turntechGodhead, so when he ascends to god tier he'll become Godhead Pickle Inspector. Reasonable assumption?
EDIT: A conversation with a friend led me to make this
(http://i.imgur.com/aME1z.jpg)
-
Love it.
-
Looks awful. And by awful I mean legit.
-

I went overboard with the artifacting maybe? I don't even know
EDIT: My magnum opus:
-
That was the most amazing thing that I've ever seen. You should make more of these, Hobo. You're quite good at them. :D
-
Funny how good he is at being shitty.
-
My friend showed my shitiness to AbortedSlunk via Skype. Apparently he said I should have his job.
-
So... it usually takes this long to update or is it just because I began reading?
-
It means something awesome is about to happen.
Usually.
-
Read the news updates. He's away in Toronto at some kind of convention or something.
-
He's back now. His hard drive broke so he bought an entire new computer.
Hussie is strange. Anyway, he said he's working on a flash now.
-
He was away, yes, but updates have been REALLY SPORADIC ever since year 2 passed. It's getting pretty bad.
-
So the scratch on the disk was more meaningful than first thought?
-
JOHN. WHY DID YOU CATCH MISSINGNO YOU TWAT
-
I'm curious. What?
-
It's making these things unwatchable.
-
Literally. Still tried.
-
How the **** did he do that?
Specifically I refer to how he managed to do all those artifacts. I don't think there is a button in Flash for that.
Also I loved the remix of whatever that was.
Also also WHY DID GAMZEE CUT OFF ALL THE HEADS
-
He would have used extensive photoshop editing on the frames for the artifacting, I'd think.
-
Well...that was interesting.
I liked it, up until the end, where it just got annoying.
I'm curious as to what the point of this meta plotthread is, though.
-
I have only now started reading this.
-
Keep going, it gets awesome.
And the last update (if you get to it today, somehow) is crazy weird.
-
Man this scratched disk is getting annoying.
Still watchable, but annoying.
-
According to Hussie that song is on Bandcamp (http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/bl1nd-just1c3-1nv3st1g4t1on)
Which I guess is true, considering I just linked to it.
-
Name sure sounds a lot like something from Phoenix Wright.
-
He would have used extensive photoshop editing on the frames for the artifacting, I'd think.
That's likely how I would have done it.
-
He would have used extensive photoshop editing on the frames for the artifacting, I'd think.
yes but that would have taken literally forever. literally. actually literally.
anyway, look where we are now. amazing. He's gone full horse with this one, new css and everything.
-
Figured he'd do some fastforward or something to accellerate things. Shame, there's some cool potential for flashes in the parts we're now going to get summarised.
-
Can't say I saw this update coming.
Also, when I clicked the "Quit" command because the cd stopped working, I got a blue screen of death.
-
My guess for the artifacting is that he made the artifacts seperate and layered them over whatever he wanted in Flash.
Also, when I clicked the "Quit" command because the cd stopped working, I got a blue screen of death.
...that's weird.
-
Also, when I clicked the "Quit" command because the cd stopped working, I got a blue screen of death.
For real or as part of the Flash?
-
So, apparently Scratch Mode works with any page.
This includes Problem Sleuth.
-
For real or as part of the Flash?
For real.
Funny, eh?
-
Yeah, very.
-
**** yes this better be a flash
-
Does Rose look stoned to anyone else?
-
Yes.
Also, ****, Jack's scary looking there.
-
Uuuuuh... what, man? Round two? Like, for sure.
-
[8^y]
-
That's so out of character it can't not work.
-
According to the bluebird, Hussie's got software problems on his new computer.
-
According to the bluebird, Hussie's got software problems on his new computer.
The Scratch is affecting his computer.
It's canon.
-
I'm not sure I really care for the current pacing of the plot.
It's like "Hey know all those flashes and fight scenes you liked? Yeah I'm tired of that ****. Here's a white text on green background."
-
Pacing has been terrible for a while now. Introducing the trolls at all was a risky move. Introducing their ancestors, which really nobody gives a toss about since they don't appear to be even remotely connected to the plot, was all a bit too much for me. We've been bouncing around between so many subplots for so long yet nothing really seems to be happening in the story.
I wonder if the current, completely lazy approach is because the creator himself is getting tired of this whole mess? Problem Sleuth lasted a year - Homestuck just crossed two with no real signs of tying things up.
-
The hardware + convention + software issues all at once has been a bit of a gut punch, and it does feel like he's cutting short story for timessake. Feels bad, man.

NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT IS LIKE
WHEN PEOPLE LOSE INTEREST
ON THEIR COMICS
-
Right, Lucas?
What is this, a convention of people who started work on a comic then gave up?
-
HEY GUYS WHO HERE EVER FINISHED AN RPG MAKER GAME.
-
Right, Lucas?
What is this, a convention of people who started work on a comic then gave up?
Oh, ****, I forgot about that... Damn. >__<
Oh well, your hands aren't exactly clean either.
-
Yeah, I know. That's part of why that second sentence exists; I wanted to make the joke before someone else could.
-
Okay.
So, yay.
I should go finish something right now. But not a comic. Why would I do that.
-
HEY GUYS WHO HERE EVER FINISHED AN RPG MAKER GAME.
I finished my entry into the Crappy Game Contest, back when it was a contest. THAT COUNTS
-
Amazingly the comic got meta yet again, and how.
And I still don't know why Lucas is in the MSPA thread.
-
I'm even more confused about why he hasn't taken to reading.
-
I can't say I didn't see that coming. The Meta, I mean. But it was done in such a meta way I didn't see it coming as well.
-
I finished a crappy game too.... )=
-
Hey... I got PESTERCHUM. Guess what my handle is.
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess missingName.
-
I will guess dickButt
-
I'm voting revoltingBrontosaurus.
I wouldn't mind that name.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess missingName.
HOW DID YOU GUESS
-
Um...wow.
Apparently all of the trolls are dead.
****ing Vriska.

bad end

NEW ALBUM REVIEW: (opinions, I got opinions)
Black Rose - Green Sun: Oh look, it's that song from the Rose walkabout flash. I think. It's p. good.
At the Price of Oblivion: Oh look, it's that song what the album is named after. It would appear to be a remix of uh, Hardchorale. It's alright I guess.
Even In Death: Oh look, I don't even know. But it has that drum bit from Descend, and I really like that bit. I think it's actually a subtle (or not?) remix of Crysanthemums, or whichever was in [S] Make Her Pay. I like it.
Terezi Owns: Oh look, it's a remix of Descend, right after I mentioned it. This is the one from [S] Seer: Ascend. It's got that touch of one of those other songs that I like, plus Descend, so win/win?
Trial and Execution: Oh look, it's a slower remix of the Lemonsnout Turnabout, I think is the one. It would appear to be Redglare's theme, I suppose. It's alright, though I've never been a fan of the wailing woman effect.
The Carnival: Oh look, it's a Gamzee-esque song. Could you guess? It would appear to be a remix of that song from early on, when John is getting his *** kicked by those two ogres on top of his house. You know the one. This starts slow, but speeds up in all due time. Oh god, the honking. Salright.
Spider8reath: Oh look, electric guitar out the wazoo. Vriska themed, not sure if it is a remix of anything yet. I guess I could save us all the trouble by waiting until I've listened to the song until typing but **** you, some guy. There's a little bit of MeGaLoVania in this song, I think (that's the one from when Aradia freezed OH **** ARADIA Jack, right?) Oh and there's a sample of Vriska's theme there too. Salite I guess.
Lidoff: Oh look, this is the first SBAHJ related song on an official album, is it? The song is strictly not quite SBAHJ at all, though you might get visions of Sweet Bro preparing for some unreal air in a clounless sky. Maybe. Pretty orchestral.
Awakening: Oh look, it's a bit chiptuney. I don't recognise this as anything though. Oooh it got better, that's a plus. In conclusion, it's okay.
Havoc to be Wrought: Oh look it'd been a minute and I still don't know. Reminds me of the Felt album though. Perhaps something Doc Scratch related. Shrug.
Play the Wind: Oh look, this isn't what I was expecting at all. I thought it would be more John related. MAYBE IT STILL IS? It's certainly different. Ain't really doin' me favours though.
Rumble at the Rink: Oh look, I have no words. It's a upbeat hoot and I can't help but think it's a giant injoke towards that greaserfad that took over the MSPA fandom for a week or something. I thought it was stupid. Actually, sounds a bit Jack-y. Eh.
Let's All Rock at the Heist: Oh look, synthy. It has a sample of -something- but then I guess most of these things do. It's pretty alright I guess. Oh god what is this vocals, why? I have a history of not liking vocals. These aren't as bad as say, whatever ruined DKC2's OC album, but it's no Gamebro/Nic Cage song/Don't Wanna Miss a Thing/the other one.
WSW-Beatdown: Oh look, a remix of Walk-Stab-Walk. Much faster. Probably a remix of Beatdown too, I can't remember what that sounds like. This is good though. WSW is a pretty good track. I approve.
Earthsea Borealis: Oh look, a remix of either a John track or a John tracks. I am not too fussed tee bee aytch.
Warhammer of Zillyhoo: Oh look, it's that song from the Warhammer of Zillyyhoo flash. Really a joke track and little more.
Saviour of the Dreaming Dead: Oh look, it's the one song I was looking forward to most when I saw the tracklist. Aha, it is as I suspected - a remix of Saviour of a Waking World, which is in turn a remix probably of whatever the original LOWAS track was. Unless that was it, but I don't think it was. This is pretty good. I like this one. A good track to end the album with.
-
I hope this is a bad universe.
But the fact that Scratch is talking about it is making me think that that's not the case.
ed: Not really 100% on the new album.
I really like the first song, and Terezi Owns, but...that's it so far.
All the rest have been meh-ish.
So, like, double meh, because it's not even really a full meh.
Which totally made sense in my head, because it's 3am.
-
3am.
That's one of my favourite tracks, incidentally.
-
Quite :P
-
Gunna be clear out of trolls pretty quick here :D
-
Time will be reversed to a point previous to any troll's death.
Calling it.
-
I had more fun listening to that album than I did playing the Duke Nukem Forever demo
-
Ouch.
That bad?
-
I was mixed on that. It had plenty of promise, but they really didn't give us much to work with. I liked the puzzle with the first minecart, and there was some fun with what little actual combat existed, but there was so little that we got to see that it was underwhelming. Lots of hope for the full game, but for a demo that they made such a big deal about, they could have shown more.
-
Well, the 2 weapons thing is terrible. It's somehow worse than I was expecting.
Duke himself is still a funny one-line machine. I only played through once but I heard an allusion to half-life, and an almost direct quote from Starship Troopers, so that's cool.
The health system is worse than I thought. I was under the impression you regenerated health by killing enemies. Instead it's just the plain old hide-for-five-seconds crap.
The first level you have to make your way to the stadium and kill a big boss with one weapon. The level shows off more of the interactive side of things. Also when you throw crap at the EDF guys they don't react so it seems lacking in some places. You can't even [use] the other humans to talk to them or anything.
The second level you drive around in a car which has an incredibly shakey camera. I still haven't decided if that's a good thing or not. Then you fight a large amount of pigcops with an array of weapons instead of them just having shotguns. I guess the variety is a nice touch. You solve a few puzzles, punch a lantern only once, kill some spiders. I guess the desert is the worst part of it all. It's so uninteresting. DN3D's levels were tighter for the most part.
I just feel that they didn't show off the right stuff in the demo. They should have done one of the levels in the city with the aliens attacking. Those levels look interesting. I guess they were just too proud of the car?
-
Pretty much. The two weapons, while irritating, I can understand. Console ports don't have enough buttons for everything. Still, being held back again isn't desirable. The regen thing is what I expected, and I was disappointed from the start. Still, at least they took one step forward with it - Your "Ego" (shields) grows when you kill bosses, so you get more health as you go. Still would have preferred old-school health.
Really would have liked to see a few more things showcased. Jetpack, a new gun, whatever. They barely even let us use the pipebombs (which I love, by the way). I hope there's a puzzle involving them and an unlimited supply nearby.
-
So how about that Homestuck
-
Well I played it again last night. I was less disappointed, since my expectations had been taken down a notch or 19.
Anyway: Why is Sawbuck there? HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD.
Also, that's Sawbuck, right?
-
I looked it up, he's Matchsticks.
Which is likely why he's there for the fire.
Also, time shenanigans.
-
Also, that's Sawbuck, right?

Too much Pokémon for me.
-
Holy ****
Hussie JUST DID THAT
-
Hey guys I just **** WHAT IS THIS **** HAPPENING
But hey, was that heroic or just?
-
She was just about to bring Jack over, killing all of her friends due to her hubris.
So yeah, I think it was just.
-
But she wasn't intentionally going to bring Jack over, that was an unfortunate side effect.
I don't think this is the last of Vriska.
-
It may not have been intentional, but her vanity (not the correct word, but my brain is mush right now) was out of control, and she was about to doom quite a few people just so she can take part in a losing fight.
By my judgement, which I admit is flawed, that sounds pretty just.
-
But if we go over these things, then John's death was also heroic. He died facing someone he would never have a hope of defeating.
Vriska was killed by a backstab, with no chance to defend herself. Hardly a just death.
-
But John wasn't about to get a ton of people killed.
Also, the Gamzee plotline isn't finished and it wouldn't make sense to just end it by having Vriska get Jack to kill everything.
-
Aye, but Vriska wasn't about to get everyone else killed on purpose. As far as she knew she was going to fight Jack, and from what Scratch was saying, quite possibly win.
And surely it wouldn't be the first time that this comic has killed plotlines before they could go somewhere.
-
Who ever said this had any level of finality? I certainly don't think so. There are too many things left unanswered, and it's too far in to simply abandon. This is only the beginning of something more beautiful, I'm sure.
-
Hey look, a shiptease!
-
Man all I want to know is WHAT IS THE CRITICAL MOMENT
-
One of my friend's (IRL) songs has made it onto the Homestuck album. He's very proud (and surprised).
-
Which song? I NEED TO JUDGE HIM.
Also OH **** OH **** OH **** OH **** SNOWMAN ALL SURVIVING? TROLLS SAVE ARADIA AND OH GOG
-
He has clarified the situation to me:

Underwater Basketweaving's "Vs. Gamzee" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfbLS-W0V9A)
-
It was pretty good I guess
-
>dat snowman
-
Anyone else notice the alligator clock tower from Hook being on that thing?
Just curious.
-
Oh wow
Also, there are figures on either side as well, but as you look up to their heads, they taper into darkness leaving only a familiar set of eyes
-
In after you can't say Vriska's death was Just with any level of certainty
-
Yeah, that convinced me.
Although the ship-teasing is getting ludicrous.
I don't really give a ****, because I just think that wherever the story goes, it goes, but goddamn. People who actually care about that bullshit are probably frothing at the mouths.
-
I think I liked her better when she was dead.
-
We can still hope.
-
Hate snog is best snog.
In other news, as someone who shipped JohnxVriska, I am now WHAT THE ****.
-
Why? Things gotta be goin' pretty well for you.
-
Yeah, with she dead.
-
I am posting from TAFE just to say how much this last update made me laugh.
A lot.
-
.......GODDAMNIT JACK
-
I demand a callback to GOOD DOG BEST FRIEND
I don't know what context that could possibly happen in but it has to
-
So, I recently wrote a Wild Mass Guessing at TVTropes.
However since I know you guys won't go in there in deep fear you may get lost and never come out, I'll replicate here;
Jack Noir (Troll session) and Bec Noir (after having his powers toned down from the current god mode) will eventually fuse in a single Noir (or at least join forces)
This Fusion!Noir will equip the Troll section ring to his left hand, and the kids ring on his right hand, having powers from both sections. This ensures the "last boss" to be beatable, but still tougher than previous Kids!Jack, who apparently struggled to be at the same level as Bro. Alternatively, the kids and the trolls will have to team up to defeat the two Jacks, or a fusion of both. What makes me think they'll fuse? Well, they seem like polar opposites; Bec Noir (with his sprite facing right) has a scar on his right eye (AFAIK it's deep enough to make that eye blind), and doesn't have a left arm, while Slick Noir (with his sprite facing right) doesn't have his left eye and his right arm. In any other comic I would disregard this as a coincidence, but on one so rooted on symbolism as Homestuck, it really strikes to me Hussie is turning them into two halves of a whole.
also i wish to punch the solid snake in the signature of hobo's. SO. ****ING. HARD.
-
Alternatively: What'll happen is what John was originally planning, and he'll have no arms and no eyes.
If the two should meet I imagine he'd probably kill Slick. Also, Jack only really had problems with Bro BEFORE he Bec'd up. Afterwards it wasn't even a thing.
TBH I am more intrigued in how the exiles managed to get to their respective session's planets.
-
also i wish to punch the solid snake in the signature of hobo's. SO. ****ING. HARD.
Also, Scratch is about to slap a bitch. This should be good.
-
so, she dead for good.
goddamnit hussie
-
I did not notice that Nicolas Cage
-
so, she dead for good.
goddamnit hussie
At least she managed to die onscreen. Even the catgirl didn't get that.
-
Oh **** combo attack
-
About time the kids (or at least just john) started getting into the loop about troll deaths.
-
I am now aware how much I've missed Karkat/John conversation
-
I am now aware either Rose or Dave will die for good when the Green Sun blows up.
As in, they won't have any more replacements dreamselves.
-
I still think the Karkat/John/Dave conversation was the single funniest log in the comic thusfar.
-
(http://mspaintadventures.com/storyfiles/hs2/scratch/room75.gif)
The best Jack expression
-
Indeed.
-
I wish Hussie wouldn't spriteflip as much as he does with Jack
He's doing it in every second frame these days!
-
Oh god
updates like this make it feel like there could be another 2 years of homestuck
-
Nah.
Knowing hussie he'll skim ahead and just write "shenanigans"
-
oh hay a huge-*** update.
-
INTERNET
ohh man that update was so good
SOOOO GOOOOOD
why aren't you all talking about it
Jaspersprite is so sweet he plays all my heartstrings like the rain
and I am also so happy to see Davesprite again
-
comense Davesprite/Jadesprite shipping.
NOW.
-
Waiting for my real internet before I can check out the new stuff.
-
comense Davesprite/Jadesprite shipping.
NOW.
Oh please, that happened as soon as a second kid became a sprite.
Although it's become so much more likely now.
-
It'd be nice if this started at least attempting to have a coherent plotline again though.
-
hey look another big ****ing update
-
It's all so very eerie. I can't explain how this is all making me feel.
-
Poor Nannasprite, finding out her "son" of many years has come to his end.
An unfortunate twist for Vriska, that she is in Doomed Timeline John's dreambubble.
And interesting turn of events for Dave and Rose, neither of who are dead apparently.
-
This is the official thread for commenting on this new avatar I found.
-
It's horrifying.
-
It's beautiful.
-
Hey look at me I'm relevant too!!
Also, on a non-attention whoring topic, where are my updates. I need them, Hussie.
-
I want to make a HS Avatar Contest right about now. I don't know which direction to take my avatar, thouwait Becghost.
-
I'd totally prototype you post-entry. Archemsprite
-
Who could resist my clever advice? I'm sure my constant innuendos would eventually penetrate your brain's defenses and impregnate it with a proper piece of plot-related information that might ok I ran out of puns.
-
I'd totally prototype you post-entry. Archemsprite
Is that sexual innuendo?
-
If it isn't, it certainly should be.
-
Wow, the fedorafreak update actually happened. Does this automatically validate all the batshit stuff Hussy says on formspring?
-
It looks like he'll be dead soon, though. Sadface.
Also looks like Nannasprite does not know about Dad's death.
-
Oh, Christ... These Ring shenanigans are getting out of control.
-
Oh, Christ... These Ring shenanigans are getting out of control.
They were under control?
-
Yeah! Well, to an extent.
At any rate, they weren't this out-of-control.
-
So, was that the Gamzee-Tavros rap-off we were promised? Sure seemed like it.
Also, that Jack. Oh man.
Also also, does that mean Kanaya has also survived THE CRITICAL EVENT? It would appear that way.
Also also also, AVCON this weekend! I wore my record shirt and my devilbeast shirt. Saw a John/Karkat (same person, different days), 3 Gamzees, 1 Sollux. One Gamzee and the Sollux were guuurls but w/e. Nobody really pulled it off! The miracle of Cosplay. Except for one Gamzee. He had a club and a horn and grey skin. Kind of scary looking though.
-
Razor, my 3D avatar is better than yours.

RAD.

Hahahahahahahaha.
No.

Lucas - The ultimate funny man.

I don't know what Razor's is supposed to be but man mine has such brilliant and amazing artistic skills, detailed realistic textures and stunningly beautiful modelling! You can't beat that.

I don't know what Razor's is supposed to be but man mine has such brilliant and amazing artistic skills, detailed realistic textures and stunningly beautiful modelling! You can't beat that.
Ok, literally everything about this sentence is depressing.
-
Lucas stop posting in the MSPA thread when you don't even follow Homestuck, you'll only drive yourself further insane. Or read Homestuck. Then you can unserstand Razor's avatar and be inducted into the Hall of Cool.
-
For real. Hobo did it, and so can you.
Dumpass.
-
Yes, Natako indirectly got me into that.
She told me the start was boring, but the story became awesome after a while. So I decided to give it a try.
(Yes, I know you probably all mentioned the boring start as well, but it appears her opinion is more important to me, deal with it!)
So yeah, it's actually true. It's pretty awesome. I'm currently at the part where this Troll with a... well, let's say it, very gay name, is being introduced. I'll keep reading from time to time, when I have free time, so I can catch up with this.
-
Something gay is being introduced? Yay, anal sex.
And I'll post wherever I damn please. *shakes angry fists*
-
Again, I loved the intro. You all can go to hell for not agreeing.
-
Well let's just say that it's far, very far from being the best part.
-
Well, maybe not the best part, but not that far off.
-
Clearly our opinion differs on this. We might have to go for a second duel to the death, after we've gone through our first one.
-
So much dueling. You'd think this was an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!
-
"You think you won? But you didn't see my TRAP CARD!"
"Oh, nice trap! But I have a TRAP CARD too!"
"Oh! But I counterattack your TRAP CARD with my hidden TRAP CARD! You can't escape!"
"Nooooooooooooo!"
That's how Yu-Gi-Oh always looked like to me.
This thread is about yu gi oh, right?
-
Again, I loved the intro. You all can go to hell for not agreeing.
I liked it too. I can easily understand how all the needless dicking about bores some people and is a significant barrier to getting into the plot but I found it really amusing.
-
Honestly, I could have enjoyed endless dicking about. Seriously. I mean, it's not like they ever stopped dicking around. It's more like they have more color, something resembling a plot (but not that closely), and shenanigans.
Also, Lucas, you're pretty much right on the money about Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is kind of odd, given that it sure doesn't seem that way once you take a serious interest in it. It's weird that the more you like it, the harder it is to see it for what it really is - endless traps and counter-traps.
-
Troll with a gay name? I honestly have no idea which one you're referring to.
And Archem I think I understand where you are coming from. While the popular opinion is that the start of Homestuck is slow, back then it really was something completely different to what it is now. Dicking around with inventory issues, exploring every little thing. It was a lot of fun. If what I've read is true back then is when he had the suggestion box open the whole time.
-
It's actually his Trolltag.
Let's just say I'd have a hard time taking someone named "centaursTesticle" very seriously.
I'm now with underwater Trolls, though.
-
If that was the thing you found most troubling about Equius, you have some issues. I found his choice of wall decoration the most worrying.
-
I preferred not mentioning his wall decoration. It is, indeed, disturbingly worrying.
-
I think they're pretty cool. I sure wish they weren't all blurred out...
-
What're you guys talking about?
Equius is the epitome of MANLINESS and STRONG and BOWS.
-
I love just how fast Equius' walls are taken down.
-
D:
-
D:?
*goes to read*
-
:D
Wait, I think I messed up...
-
Oh man we are learning THINGS here today
It looks like at that critical moment
Jack will (attempt to) DESTROY the very universe that we are in
But 413 years later, the exiles will be on Earth. So... ?
-
I'm assuming you guys remember Goggles, right?
That thing where you draw on the webpage?
Well, somebody had some fun on the Nightmare Fuel (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/HighOctaneNightmareFuel/Homestuck) page on TV Tropes.
honk
-
Yeah, they sure did.
-
Cute.
Also:
>Most of the **** on the Nightmare Fuel page
>not nightmare fuel
>SBAHJ "are you next? ARE YOU NEXT? ARE YOU NEXT?" after Kanaya died considered Nightmare Fuel instead of (well I didn't check but) Mood whiplash
I can't take this **** seriously
TVTropes you full of schmucks
-
I've noticed that the folks at TV Tropes are really wimps when it comes to "scary".
The only thing on that page that I believe absolutely belongs there is:
Gamzee's descent into madness.
and Jade's nightmare.
-
That's as simple as it gets. People acting up? Confiscate breathing privileges.
-
Electricity, too.
-
I've ctach up with it again.
So Karkat is Angry Space Jesus' Second Coming?
-
I can dig it.
-
I started reading where I left off months ago. I'm way behind at act 3. As confusing the plot is, as obnoxious as pesterlogs are, I'm oddly amused.
-
I started reading where I left off months ago. I'm way behind at act 3. As confusing the plot is, as obnoxious as pesterlogs are, I'm oddly amused.
Haha oh god you're going to love the later acts
-
I genuinely loved them. Pretty much everything has been awesome, except I was getting tired of the trolls at the early stages of the plot focusing on them. Too many, too much plot skimming, not enough depth, blah blah blah.
Then they got some character fleshed out, and they became beloved members of the family.
-
I'm loving Hussie's antics in the top bar. Especially the sweeps pun
-
A pun worthy of the gods.
-
I genuinely still don't get what this topic is all about.
Is it the "general, all-purpose slowchat topic"?
-
Oh phuck. It's Gary.
-
It's about a webcomic.
-
Out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea of when Homestuck is going to wrap up? I enjoyed Problem Sleuth immensely, but I can't imagine reading it daily - it just seems like it would move too slowly. So if there's any indication that it's going to end anytime soon, I'd prefer to just wait until it's done and read the whole thing in one or two sittings.
-
No way of telling. It could end tomorrow, it could go on for another year or two.
-
I genuinely still don't get what this topic is all about.
Is it the "general, all-purpose slowchat topic"?
That, as well.
But mostly, it's about bros warning bros about things and being promptly forgotten, then repeating their previous statement that they had, in fact, warned their bros.
-

Uh IIRC he's said he has plans for at least the next year or so. I may be making that up though. Also, those would be ****ing huge sittings.
-
I have a lot of free time.
-
Just don't get DVT.
-
So what the hell is this?
-
An amazing Hussie interlude?
-
Yes. Is our big bald albino host a puppet now or some ****?
-
OH GOD THE UPDATE JUST NOW
IT IS
AMAZING
IT IS
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well, this was anti-climatic.
But at least the story is back on trails.

Wait, is it over? I'mma be pissed.

So, the lastest link links back to the first mspaint ever.
What.

So, the lastest link links back to the first mspaint ever.
What.
News post says it's to re-familiarize with all of it.
-
Also, filler for the next few weeks before HS story progress happens.
-
Sick relevance, bot bro.
-
(http://mspaintadventures.com/scraps2/EOAprogress.gif)
So where the fruck is it?
-
Isn't it airing on the 25th?
-
I really should start reading those again and getting up to date. Damn you, real life... even though it has nothing to do with you!
-
Yeah, 25th, whatever. It's 100% right ****ing now, why should I have to wait even longer?
Theses last few days will be the worst...
-
Numerology of the date or some crap. I personally couldn't care less if the date is 612+413 or whatever the hell it is, I'd rather see the flash now. Goddamn Hussie.
-
The worst? What, have you guys been waiting on baited breath for two-frickin-months?
Any other webcomic pulls these shenanigans and they'd lose their viewer base within a week and a half.
-
Well, yeah. It's like crack or something, and I haven't had my fix in a very long time.
Ok, it's more like the wait is almost over, and knowing that it's done, but not there means the waiting is difficult. Like Christmas as a kid. A regular week is no big deal, but the week before the 25th (December, not October) is killer.

-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
So I decided to write up the entire thing, just so if you forgot a minor detail I GOT YOUR BACK.
No seriously, the whole thing is in the following spoiler.

On beat mesa, John continues the Scratch that Bro started. He kills all the monsters that try to stop him.
Over on Jade's tower, Jack is sad over Jade's death. Jack kills Clubs Deuce in response and gets Dad's wallet from him.
Later, Jack in the troll universe, face to face with Bilious Slick, kills him with his RED MILES. This sends waves of destruction throughout the kids' universe, which eventually reaches Earth in the distant future where the trolls are having their shenanigans.
Seeing the RED MILES, the exiles begin their plan to destroy the SBURB pods. AR arms the detonator. In the frog temple, WK waits outside the pod thing where WK has spent the last 413 million years. A second pod reaches its last 10 seconds.
Back at Jade's tower, Jack sadly takes dead Jade to her planet's quest bed. Looking up to the sky, he heads off to the frog temple, sitting in the asteroid from before it left the insipisphere, where the WK is already in statis. He jumps into the second pod.
Back in the future, Jack emerges from the second pod and decapitates WK, who drops Rose's book. Then he kills WQ. Outside, he approaches PM and AR. He approaches PM, who readies up for battle, but AR distracts Jack accidentally by blowing up the Bec pod. Then he blows up the Egg pod. Jack appears in front of him. As he steps closer, AR blows up the Apple pod. Just as he is about to destroy the last pod, and WV with it, Jack decapitates AR, much to PM's horror. PM swings to kill Jack, but he teleports into the cork pod where WV is. Noticing the pod is out of fuel, Jack reaches in and grabs the uranium from WV's stomach, gaining his bloody hand in the process. Jack powers up the pod with the uranium and uses the teleport, leaving PM with the a dead AR and a universe on the edge of destruction (those red miles!).
Just as the trolls are about to step into their new universe, Jack is teleported to their location. He destroys the entrance, Aradiabot sends the trolls to the lab and many Aradiabots from doomed timelines come back to fight Jack. Prospit and Derse are destroyed, all the dreamselves killed, Dream Aradia awakens as God Tier, and later she and a dead dream bubble Sollux hang near the Green Sun.
Derse's moon from the kids universe travels onwards with Rose and Dave, through the outer ring. DD is killed by Dave, Rose holds the Tumor that Liv Tyler stole from CD. Dave, Rose and Liv head into the center of the Derse moon. Inside they find their own God-tier beds, and they stand on them accordingly. Rose removes The Tumor from the card, and it breaks open like an egg, revealing a machine with two tubes, one red, one blue. Inside the red tube, the destruction that Jack's RED MILES is doing to the kids' universe can be seen, along with Earth. Inside the blue tube we look into the troll universe, zooming on to Alternia. On its green moon, SS and Snowman stand on a roof. Snowman goads SS into shooting her with Scratch's pistol. She is shot through the heart, spilling blue blood everywhere, beginning the destruction of the troll's universe. The destruction matches that of the RED MILES in ther other universe and can be seen in the blue tube of the machine.
In the forests of the LOFAF, hummingbirds fly around. From the Cork pod, Jade can be seen on a monitor before it fades to black. PM is dismayed over finding WV's corpse. On LOFAF, the hummingbirds flock to Jade's corpse. As the reckoning continues, meteories fly towards Skaia, and only so many a teleported away via gates. Others rain down on Skaia, where Jadesprite and Davesprite are. A large one hurtles right at them, while Jade's questbed begins to light up. Jadesprite and Davesprite exchange last looks, before Jadesprite suddenly changes. She turns into godtier Jade, Witch of Space. Using her space powers, she turns the giant meteor into a small basketball sized rock. She lifts a Prospite battleship into the air and boards it, then shrinks Skaia right down until it is as small as the previous meteor, with Davesprite still on it. She teleports the ship over to LOFAF, so she can shrink it too.
On the Beat Mesa, John has completed the Scratch. On Earth, PM looks to the skies as she has dragged WV out of the pod. In doing so, the WQ's ring he had falls out of its hiding space, which she notices and picks up. Jade teleports John from the Beta Mesa to the ship. Jade shrinks all the kids' planets down and juggles them! Dave and Rose watch on as the machine ticks down its final minute. PM puts on the ring. The Beta mesa moves towards Skaia (?) and the destruction Jack and SS have done to the two universes begins to reach their conclusion. Jade begins teleporting the defenstrated window from her house ball, scaling it up in size. Within the window we see many scenes from Jade's adventure and Gamzee's conversation with Scratch after he killed everyone.
TC: that's all motherfuckin done whitetexted bro.
TC: NOW WHAT?
TC: oh yeah?
TC: AND JUST WHAT THE MOTHERFUCK IS IT
TC: that we motherfuckin are?
Gamzee highlights Scratch's response, "S u c k e r s" as he watches Jade's house ball fall over, right at the critical moment.
The Derse moon continues onwards, and the machine explodes, creating the Green Sun. Outside of the Green Sun, Aradia and dream bubble Sollux float in space. In the distance, Jack sees the Green Sun. At the time over the 5x troll standoff, Terezi, Kanaya, Gamzee and Karkat look up to the sky. Sollux is blind. Terezi points out the direction of the sun (Karkat corrects her), and Sollux uses his mind powers to launch the asteroid they are on towards it. This overexertion kills Sollux. Jack sees this, and teleports to the plateau where the entrance to the new universe is. Here, he sees something.
Killed in the explosion, but by standing on their dream beds, Dave and Rose rise out of the green sun in God Tier form. Aradia greets them.
Elsewhere, standing at WV's body, PM has undergone the prototyping of the ring. She stands at the plateau, WV's body behind her, staring back at Jack.
At the defenestrated wall, Jade continues to scale it up, showing us in reverse order her adventure. It becomes much larger than the battleship, which goes right through the lower left pane. In the final movements we see the beginning of John's adventure, ending with frame 1. And then the curtains close and the act is ended.
-
I watched the whole thing and then had to read your explanation to understand what I watched.
-
Apparently
they CREATED the Green Sun
so I fixed that in my summary.
But I am glad I could help.
Christ, this whole conversation is ripe with foreshadowing (aren't they all) http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004936
Well at least this line: TT: It is nearly twice the mass of our universe.
-
Christ on a bloody pogo stick. Megaupload file? 52.33 MB file? This is ridiculous.
-
Am I late?
ed: Finished watching it a few minutes after I posted this.
Honestly, I've lost interest in the overall story, and this didn't really help.
-
Okay, I finally remembered I downloaded this.
That was LONG AS HELL. I can see why it took this long to make. And it murdered like a dozen guys, and updated every current plot, and I admit I didn't understand like 90% of what was going on but that's pretty much to the norm for these flashes.
Best part is the new mixes of John's planet and Jade's grimdark (see, I've forgotten essentially all the names of everything by now).
What I don't understand was why it was made at all. Is the dude just getting sick of the comic format? Cuz all of that would have been a thousand times more epic given in pieces over the past 2 months rather than thrown at us in one big flash. Especially now that he's probably going to take another huge break. I don't get it. He practically invented the sound and graphics webcomic format himself, and now he's murdering it with stunts like this.
Ah well, whatever. It was fun until it wasn't.
-
Well if it isn't Nancy Negative and his friend, Also Nancy.
Keep in mind he didn't really start it until like a month ago, since we was busy doing all that other ****.
Would it have been more epic broken up into pieces? Maybe. Maybe not.
-
I have seen the face of God.
-
I'm a negative nancy for wondering why there was a 15 minute animation all at once when 3 5 minute ones would have been better?
If you want to blindly praise the thing and chew out people that don't like it, there's official forums for that.
-
I think the massive flash was a great end to what was the biggest act so far. Makes the wait worth it.
-

I would hardly call "Nancy Negative" chewing out. I just don't really agree with multiple smaller releases may have been better than one big one.
I will agree that, while reaching an arc number is nice, if it was possible to release it earlier he should've done so. But then again it sounded like it was up as soon as he could, what with the hosting issues he had.
Now, you'll argue that, if he had released them separately, hosting probably wouldn't have been an issue. And you'd probably be right!
But in the end I think it was one big story that needed to be told at once. Sure, we could have watched them one after another in the end, but that would slightly lower the impact. Maybe. Maybe not. OPINIONS.
Anyway; ultimately the Flash brought a LOT of the storylines and updated them, either finishing them or combining them with others to make less storylines in total. This I'm sure you'll agree is a good thing. Less to keep track of and all that.
-
Definitely good to update and consolidate a plot of plot threads. Though I can't help but feel that the body count trivializes a lot of them. I mean, there's now one surviving future denizen left after years of those guys bumming around and not doing much.
-
Mailbec is pretty awesome though.
Surprisingly, my spellcheck isn't catching "Mailbec"

Mine is. You have quite the awesome spellcheck.
Well, awesome or terrible.

Nope.
Right off the top of my head.
Mine is. You have quite the awesome spellcheck.

I'm guessing terrible, because it's catching it now.
Weird.

Hussie covers the Flash in a lot of words.
Now we know -why- the exiles were blowing up the pods: to stop Jack from going to other universe.
He also -implies- that WV may not be dead. This is why PM brought him to the Troll universe with him.
We are set to resume updates on Skyrim Day.
-
There's supposed to be an intermission though.
-
Having to explain your work like that just proves that you didn't do a good enough job with the work itself...
When is Skyrim day?
-
11.11.11.
-
Man, what's is even this guys his deal?
Releasing his **** on the same days as big video game releases. He just tried it with Battlefield 3, and now Skyrim? Hussie, chill.
-
Man, what's is even this guys his deal?
Releasing his **** on the same days as big video game releases. He just tried it with Battlefield 3, and now Skyrim? Hussie, chill.
I can see it working with Battlefield because eh shooters suck, but really, trying to get any views on the day that all nerds will be orgasming over Skyrim? Yeah, nice try bro.
-
**** your opinions. Battlefield is basically the bomb.
-
I have to agree that Skyrim is a bigger release than Battlefield 3.
However, I've actually played quite a bit of shooters and don't have a low opinion on the genre.
-
I can see it working with Battlefield because eh shooters suck, but really, trying to get any views on the day that all nerds will be orgasming over Skyrim? Yeah, nice try bro.
You underestimate the Homestuck fanbase. They're rabid animals. Except us cool, level headed fans.
Having to explain your work like that just proves that you didn't do a good enough job with the work itself...
He didn't HAVE to explain it at all. I got everything he said out of the flash, save for a few metaphors which aren't relevant to the plot in the grand scheme of things at all. The explanation was heplful, but hardly neccesary. The only thing people mostly fucked up on was the Green Sun being created, which I fail to understand. It was really obvious. Bomb explodes in empty space. Suddenly a green sun. Interpreting that as it being destroyed is kinda stupid. It's pretty obvious what the intention with that scene was.
-
They'd have to be, with one update every 3 months or so.
-
They'd have to be, with one update every 3 months or so.
Except the normal update rate is like once every two days, if not faster? Hate to repeat Razor, but you're really just a bit of a negative nancy in regards to this whole thing.
-
Skyrim is bigger to nerds. Keep that in mind. Battlefield is competing with Call of Duty, which means it's going toe-to-toe with the biggest entertainment source in the world. Too ****ing many people play that ****. So it'll likely sell better than the still likely to be a massive success "Skyrim".
Of course, I could be full of ****, but I'll wait for post-holidays sales reports to verify.
-
Nah Archem, you're right. Shooters sell more, always. Shooters appeal to non nerds. Shooters are casual games. Every self respecting nerd with a 360/good enough PC/PS3 will get Skyrim. But lots and lots of non nerds will get Battlefield.
-
SO HOW ABOUT THAT HOMESTUCK GUYS
-
Oh, that thing sucks.
-
Until I'm shooting dragons with nukes from tanks in spaaaaaaaaace, nobody gives a crap.
So how bout that frequent updating, guys?
-
Oh, that thing sucks.
I still don't understand why you even post in or read this topic at all.
-
The same reason why Missingname pops into the Ponies thread to bitch about ponies.
-
I still don't understand why you even post in or read this topic at all.
This is Charas. It is my place of living. I must lurk and speak my mind in every corner of it.
-
But you literally have no mind on this subject. You lack a mind. No mind. Mindless. Without mind. An absence of mind detected in this quadrant.
-
True true.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYh1OlRWzp4
This song for me is an aural orgasm. My favourite track from Volume 8, I think.
-
Well, that was something. Something I didn't expect. BUT THEN IT HAPPENED.
-
i hope Hussie finishes the intermission before 11/11/11! Gonna be tough.
-
See, this is the type of thing I'm talkin' about. Well played.
-
*slow clap*
-
Nice to see nobody here is disappointed about LE's appearance.
He looks just like a Felt, which I guess is to be expected. And he looks like Lil Cal, which is just plain creepy.
-
Gotta watch this later. After staying up late putting together my computer last night, I saw that there was another flash, and I said "oh hell naw" and went to bed.
-
IT'S HERE
-
This is mighty strange.
It appears the scratch fucked everything up.
-
Just as planned. We're looking at the grand/parents/brother this time round. Hopefully this will explain how they knew all the **** they knew in the prescratch session.
-
Time for me to bitch and moan.
-
Okay, this **** is getting too bloated and going to such high levels of nowhere that even I am starting to feel like I'm watching Lost all over again.
-
If people are bitching about things going nowhere and being too complicated and bloated I don't know how any of you got into Homestuck in the first place.
-
Hobo has a point :V
It started getting bloated a long *** time ago.
-
Yeah, and I didn't terribly like that. I feel that Homestuck's golden age was before the troll arc began.
-
Indeed. I didn't even like the trolls for a good amount of time. They grew on me, but man, this is getting too deep.
I'm fairly sure this is mostly a reboot of sorts, though, so I don't think we can complain about the bloat right now.
-
If people are bitching about things going nowhere and being too complicated and bloated I don't know how any of you got into Homestuck in the first place.
It was bloated and going nowhere in the perfect ammount.
-
In other news, without any provocation on my behalf, one of my IRL good friends has started reading Homestuck as of a week or so ago.
He's up to Act 5.1 now and to my surprise, he's enjoyed everything up to and including now. Someone enjoying everything in Homestuck? What a concept!
-

Preposterous.
-
So after a long time of playing Skyrim and not reading MSPA, my friend just finished Act 5.1. After being told that a lot of people didn't like it due to the lack of kids, he responds "Lol I liked the trolls story"
He also hates Vriska, so that's cool too
-
Speaking of, is anyone able to get into the current storyline? I can't find myself willing to get interested in yet another group of new characters, especially since these are some sort of parallel universe ones and I can't imagine the main cast never coming back ever again.
-
The main cast are definetly coming back. The cascade flash pretty much set everything up for that. And I'm really liking the new characters, actually. They all seem pretty interesting and the whole thing reminds me of Act 1 (naturally) which is great.
-
It's kind of meh right now. I think I'd like the new kids more if I hadn't known the old kids and the trolls and Jack (and friends) and the whole White/Black kingdom. Basically, too much to keep up with, and despite things looking like I should ignore all that before stuff, I can't. That, and these are basically the same kids, but something is wrong. Like store-brand Oreos or something.
Also, I <33333333 Vriska.
-
>can't keep up
I'm like, a moron or something and I can follow everything
stop being worse than me
-
I make up for it in all those other ways.
You know the ones.
-
Alright, now I have no idea what is going on.
I bet the jews did this!
Friend update: He's nearly finished Doc Scratch's intermission.
-
So uh how about that update.
-
Well that was quick.
-
So, what, is this just him admitting this whole deviation was stupid?
-
So, what, is this just him admitting this whole deviation was stupid?
She has an awakened dreamself, and hell, it isn't even confirmed she's dead, Hussie's pulled bigger bullshit before. I REALLY doubt it's the end for the character.
-
Just look at that page number! Hussie's reached my hallowed grounds!
-
I hereby quit Homestuck.
I seriously can't stand the ****ing thing anymore.
...yup, I think that's all I got.
-
Ah, as long as you realize that every bit of dialogue is him trolling us and stop paying attention to the storyline, it's a fun, albeit constantly confusing, ride.
-
Weakkkkkkk.
-
So, new Flash update and ****. Pretty cool. I like the music a lot. Also, told you Jane wasn't dead. I don't see how anyone could believe that was a legitimate death.
-
Prospit, duh.
-
So, new Flash update and ****. Pretty cool. I like the music a lot. Also, told you Jane wasn't dead. I don't see how anyone could believe that was a legitimate death.
Hope

Hope
So you'd like it if he killed off all the new characters who are actually interesting and went back to all trolls, all day, every day? You silly.
-
Eh, the new characters were trolls with different skins. I got through about 10 pages of that new chick being sort of like John but not really because realizing how little of a crap I gave.
-
Eh, they're kind of the same characters, so it's hard to care as much.
-
The kid versions of bro and mom are some of my favourite characters to come out of the series. You clearly both suck.
EDIT: Okay woah maybe I spoke too soon
-
Well that was pleasant...
-
You know, somehow, I'm suddenly really liking this again. I mean, I never stopped liking it, but I'm enjoying it almost as much as I was about a year ago, and for no good reason.
-
Meanwhile I never stopped liking it. And now we see that Jane is not dead at all!
-
Well, that's at least half-right.
-
Not dead at all quite yet then
-
Holy ****, Pony Pals is the best.
-
I theorised that Ro-Lal has killed Jasper after appearifying that book.
-
Remember that time I had to go to the first page of this topic because everytime I see it on the front page I forget? I mean though, after 47 pages, who knows if a topic has stayed on topic.
-
It pretty much has surprisingly.
-
Deadly missiles? They're not fucking around.
-
That was a clever way to "black out" the site.
-
IKR
I was amused
-
How many of you are still following along? Cause man. Man. Dat update.
-
I'm about to check it out now. Not big on early morning.
EDIT: Done. No Grampsprite?
-
*checks*
Still on alternate universe whatever kids?
*unchecks*
Wake me when or if John comes back.
-
The other kids do, in spurts. It's shaping up to be rather important. Not really alt-universe at all. More like looping timeline. Typical Hussie bullshit.
-
Ehhhhhhh
Then I guess I'm okay with being done for good.
-
Pansy.
-
*still not giving a damn about the whole thing*

We're coming up to a new intermission, so you may get some of the original lineup, Sai. But you seem content to be a whiny bitch hating on the plot for reasons I don't really understand (there's a lot of good reasons, you just don't seem to be conveying any of them), so whatever. I'm loving the new stuff now Hussie's gotten over the relationship pesterlog bullshit.
-
pesterlog bullshit.
Reason why I finally gave up.
jesus wall of text
-
I've just drawn the proverbial line in the sand for how many new characters I can actually care about. And considering Hussie intentionally trolls his fanbase at every opportunity, it's been an effort to want to keep up with things for like a year now.
-
I've actually been able to keep all the characters in mind pretty well. For what it's worth, Hussie sure does enough to make them all memorable. Hell, I not only know who these new kids are, but I give some shits about them. Considering how they relate to the old kids, it's less of a "new kids" thing, and more of an expansion on existing characters.
But Sai would know that if he kept with it instead of jumping ship as soon as more characters showed up.
-
I'm pretty neutral to Jane and Jake. They're kind of... meh, I guess. Don't grab my attention, but do nothing to make me hate them. I pretty much like every other character Hussie's introduced before to some degree.
Also, it's pretty ironic how Feferi had near to zero plot relevance, and now her Ancestor is so goddamn significant it hurts.
-
I fuckin' love all of it.
-
hi i edited a comic
(http://i.imgur.com/UC6CB.png)
Also Lord English with the King's Sceptre ahhhhhh
-
I follow the guy who did the original on dA.
-
Dave/Karkat drawing time is officially the best thing that has happened thus far.
-
Yes, absolutely. I got to wake up to that, best thing ever.
-
So that was a pretty cool update.
Just like I am updating this thread!
-
I visit a lot of Anime conventions...
homestuck has exploded.
-
Tell me about it.
Last year at my cities annual convention there were 3 gamzees and a karkat. I'm scared to think of what I'll be seeing there this year.
-

Colossalcon has upwards of a 200 body photoshoot.....
-
I suppose my comment comes off as hilariously sarcastic. But yeah that was the first of Homestuck's fandom I've seen in Australia, and after having seen some of the ridiculous photos (so many Johns, so many Daves) of yank conventions, I do suspect this year will get pretty ridic.
-
Why did my subject line get changed by some goon? Whaz up wit dat?
-
It must have been hit in the great "So" outbreak of 2012. There were few survivors.
-
So, Dirk gets **** done. So badass.
Oh damnable hell, I didn't mean either o' those "so"s.
-
just noticed the "so" attachment.
-
Oh my GOD that HOMESTUCK UPDATE
LOOK AT IT
-
No.
I've stoped with that site for months ago.
I'm clean man, clean. There's no more of this "casual homestucking" at parties.
-
SWEET JESUS TITS THINGS OF AMAZING PROPORTIONS ARE OCCURRING UP IN HERE AND I'M PRETTY SURE I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING WITHOUT SPOILEoh hey there Grandy...
-
No.
I've stoped with that site for months ago.
I'm clean man, clean. There's no more of this "casual homestucking" at parties.
True dat, bro. Feels good to be clean.
-
Well either go watch the update or get out of this thread.
I'm going to start throwing spoilers around and at this point you'll be directly responsible for them.
You have until my next post, whenever that is.
-
Welp, you've been warned! I have warned you and a warning has been issued. The spoilers begin.
So Archem, how about how HORRIFYING that part was where HE KILLED EVERYONE?
And wasn't the music amazing? English with spots of Descend, Revelawesome, Psych0ruins and even a quiet bit of Doctor at the end.
-
I am shocked at the murder of characters specifically mentioning Dave and John and also Dave. The leg-gnawing was also unexpected, and I definitely get the nod to the Saw films. And that thing with Jack at the end? Isn't it weird seeing him/him without thinking of him as some super-badass?
-
Totally agree on the Jack thing, considering the angry merciless demon he's been so far it would surprise me if Hussie does not have him killed by the kids' hands by the comic's end.
But it certainly does look like he might have a temporary change of heart. Maybe.
And that black hole, what the **** even happened I don't even. I read theories that since since UU and uu are two people sort of, there were two kernalsprites, and since they came out all up in each others' grills, they prototyped with each other, freaking out and causing said black hole.
But man, that Dave and John, killed forever. That's superharsh. That's the same John that Vriska had a d8 with. What an end. Speaking of, though, the internet has noticed Vriska wasn't visible, nor Tavros, so mayhaps after the spritesplosion, they wound up in a different bubble altogether.
Time will tell.
-
So do the God tiers actually die for real? I mean, does that count as a heroic death? I'm not certain, given the circumstances. That kind of obliteration doesn't exactly seem fair, and it doesn't seem just or heroic in the slightest. It just seemed like rap.
e.
-
That's an interesting point. I mean, sure they were god tiers, but they were from a doomed timeline. Does the latter override the former?
Based on their eyes, they were all already dead, so, I dunno.
-
The already dead part brings up another interesting thought. Do you kill a ghost? Or perhaps the all-out attack was more of an assertion of power than a genuine attempt to wreck their ****?
I wonder how this will all play out in the grand scheme of things?
-
*ahem*
I read problem sleuth a while ago, and loved it. Well, I don't think I finished it, but I reckon I got close.
I never managed to get into homestuck though. All the placing items in the house with a mouse etc... I mean, I love the inventory systems, and I know that later it'll become amazing, but I can't quite bring myself to slug through it.
-
Do it because it's worth it.
That's what I say to everyone who doesn't make it through the early stages (which, by the way, were my favorite parts).
-
So how about
that kickstarter?
-
Yes, and that update that really wasn't all that big of a deal.
I'd like to fund that HSKS, but money.
-
He said his original plan was to do 3 game updates, but because of all the updates he hasn't had in the past months, he's going to update normally AND do the other two game segments.
I would have liked a scalemate.
-
I suppose that would help make the deal big, but until then, I'm still waiting to see why the long hiatus happened.
-
(http://www.mspaintadventures.com/storyfiles/hs2/scraps/CAUCASIAN.gif)
This is why I'm still reading this. How many of you are also still reading? Conversely, how many of you are massive tools?
-
>implying I would ever stop reading Homestuck
I like how little shits Hussie gives about the over-PC tumblr-based fandom.
Though I do worry this won't make any sense to anyone who isn't aware of that dark side of things.
Slightly related note: I am working on graphics for a website.
edits: he changed it to PEACHY because reasons
-
I've been reading it. Incredibly late to the party, but I'm massively enjoying reading it all in one go.
Just ended Act 3. I've avoided most of the thread to avoid spoilers, although I did see the latest page a few months ago back when I didn't think I was going to read it all, and I saw a lotta stuff blow up.
-
I've got to start reading this again, if only because my IRL friend found out I read it once, and she was like "DUUUUDE YOURE THE FIRST OTHER BRAZILLIAN WHO I KNOW WHO HAS EVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS THING" and now she goes on with her yaoi shippings of characters I never even know existed and bugs me to read it again and again D:
On other news, I made IRL friends this past year, some of which are girls.
She is like 7 years too young, tho.
And the one girl who was cute and funny and the appropriate age had a boyfriend of course.
Still, I'm fairly happy that I'm getting friends.
That went on a tangent. I dunno, I just feel really happy tonight for some reason. Wanted to tell people that.
-
Act 3 is great because intermission.
-
Sweet and sour Christ, yes.
-
Ok now I'm up to date.
Sweet jeez it's awesome. I'm not quite as interested in the alpha kid's problems as I am the other's, though... So the last lot hasn't been quite as great.
EDIT: Looking back and noticing that Sai bitches about the new kids quite a lot, I feel I should explain that I like them less, but I still like them. It's just that the trolls and the original kids are the ones who already know each other and I'm kinda emotionally invested in them more.
Particularly Rose and Kanaya. I'm understating this a lot so I'll repeat. Particularly Rose and Kanaya.
-

-
I read back through most of this topic and it makes me sad that I wasn't experiencing it when y'all were talking about it and more people were still reading... But honestly I think I got the best deal. Reading so much in one go was so good... Basically the equivalent of reading a book instead of reading a paragraph a day.
Weirdly, I didn't really see any of you talk about who your favourite characters were, apart from some vague mentions of Dave early on. Who is your favourite character? Mine was Terezi for a while, and now I'm not really sure.
-
Kanaya or Dirk. Or Vriska. One of them.
-
Reading so much in one go was so good... Basically the equivalent of reading a book instead of reading a paragraph a day.
That's what I usually do with webcomics like dr mcninja and such, beats reading a new one every month or so.
-
Oh God I forgot about Dr. McNinja!
-
My first ever update! Yay!
Do they usually come lots at once nowadays? Because that's really cool.
-
They're pretty varied. Some days, there's one at a time for a few days in a row (used to be daily), sometimes there are large chunks all at once. Sometimes, there are several updates a day at different parts of the day. Sometimes, there's one awesome update that comes before (and typically leads into another) long pause. I miss the days when updates were reliably a daily thing, but given how impressive the format manipulations get, I can forgive the delays. Plus, the story is like goddamn crack.
-
At the moment, given the nature of this 2x combo thing he's got going on, you'll be expecting a bunch of pages several days apart.
And also, how about that update? I don't think anyone saw THAT coming. (The whole Jack thing)
-
I admit I did not. Then again, I'm not used to theorising about what's gonna happen next. I'm used to it just happening within the next minute or two : p
He seems to be throwing up a ton of different leads to keep people guessing about lord English. I kinda thought it was a shame that Caliborn hadn't been beefing up on his planet as he unlocked the screens, because for a while back there we didn't see his whole body, just his face, and that would have been a cool reveal.
-
I don't know what to think about the future anymore. Hussie's hardcore brain-****ing me right now.
-
Hussie's hardcore brain-****ing me right now.
The fact that the entire comic does this constantly is a big part of why I stopped reading.
I think it got old.
-
Nah, the majority of the previous stuff was shenanigans and shitty twists. Now it's full-blown brain-****, and I'm loving it.
-
Big-Time Oh Shits™ with a side of Mega Seizures™.
-
Woah momma!
So I guess they're all gonna be god tier now? Also, this pretty much proves that Lord English actually wants them god tier, for whatever reason. It's part of his plaaaan.
If they do become god tier I kinda feel like it's all been a bit rushed. I mean, Roxy's the only one who's even started to come to grips with her unique powers. Jane still doesn't even know what she's doing!
-
Alpha Kids: Ascend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpjFcWXiVWI#ws)
-
Holy ****.
Where are his pants?
-
he took them off because he was banging her mom for a minute there
-
Oh wow, a reference to MSPA that I actually still get.
-
he took them off because he was banging her mom for a minute there
There he went, making that old refrence
and now. fruckert is involved, jesus chris
i cant BELIEVE what he made take place
-
dude come get the ruler check this out
Fruck is making references like that is UNREAL, it doens't even HAPPEN.
-
I love you guys.
-
And there he goes... the big man has raised the stakes yet again.
-
That was... Unexpected >_>
I guess Dave, Rose John and the trolls now have to save the day?
-
Man, just when I was ready to breathe a sigh of relief...
-
I just wanna put it out there that I love the updates loads at the moment.
Meenah is becoming a surprise favourite character of mine! (you in my crosshairs sucka)
-
So, there was more updates after an interlude of Andrew being at a convention.
-
Yes there was. Cherub mating, huh.
-
I need detailed XXX pics to believe.
-
Screw that. If he's going into intricate detail on a sexual partnership I don't want him wasting it on cherubs. In fact It doesn't need to be explicit: It'd be nice if he paid relationships any respect at all. We found out Jade and Davesprite were going out and that they'd broken up in the same panel. Dave and Terezi only had, like, one panel together during the time they were going out, and they weren't even looking at each other. And that had been building up for a while. It's like he's anti-gratification of any sort.
-
I have received my pics. Anti-gratification theories can suck it.
-

The update didn't prove me wrong. Just confirm my worst fears.
In all seriousness, Homestuck's great right now. But if I've one bone to pick it'd be the 'off screen relationship' complex it has.
-
So in case you all forgot, I totally love Vriska.
-
:,(
Massive hiatus...!
Guess I have to forget it exists for a while and get on with other things.
:(
-
Shucksbuster. Guess who is running the show now.
-
Awesome! We have lift off once more!
-
dude... looking back to this comic. Page 2. Just gives me feels.
I can't believe I opened that link on page 2.
Opened it up and was just too confused. I had no idea what was going on.
and then I closed it. Looking back now I really regret not giving it a chance.
-
You just made me re-read the first half of this thread. I made it through 25 pages worth. I am reminded of the old PesterChum formula of novellas with a picture attached, partially because the subject kept coming up, and partially because reading through all those posts adds up to roughly one PesterChum conversation.
-
I can't believe this thread is 4 years old.
-
I can't believe this thread is 4 years old.
A thread with more than 10 pages has to be 4 years old on this forum.
-
I can't believe Homestuck is 4 years old to be honest.
Time flies.
Anyway, I heard Karkat died? Well that kind of just killed any interest I might have on returning to read homestuck, and I had very little interest.
It's like game of thrones; I just can't stand literature that disincourages mefrom getting attached to the characters because they might die at ay given moment.
-
To be honest,
everyone died.
Not that it matters.
-
Man, I remember when I first started thinking that the story was dragging.
a couple years later, and you reach today
:|
-
Grandy, Grandy, Grandy.
Who was the last character to die and not show up somewhere? It was like Bro or Mom or something.
Do you really think for a minute Karkat is DAOOTS?
-

Still, Karkat was the least convoluted character, and IIRC he ranted a lot about how everything around him was convoluted. NOW HE IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Hussie's making a browser based dating sim based on high school versions of Namco-Bandai characters. (http://comicbastards.com/sdcc-13-shiftylook-announces-namco-high-browser-based-dating-sim/)
Yes, I'm serious.
-
**** it, I'll play it.
-
Dear God, these developments guys.
-
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK
-
So, Gigapause. This is it. The big one before the end.
It's at least several months away, and I ain't ready for this.
-
Neither am I. It was very sad news.
I just have to kinda forget Homestuck exists or something. I get why he did this but considering how long it'll be, even I'll care less about the characters when it's done...
Having said that, if he does it properly, it'll be an incredible read in one go.
-
Oh the damn thing is finally ending?
-
Apparently! Except "finally" and "ending" might be generous words, since nothing will be happening forever.
Hey did you all scoop the new SBAHJ, the first one in over a year?
-
Sure did. Two new ones, in fact.
Pupes.
-
0_o I did not see that.
The plot thicken.
This does mean that my limited run hardback sweet bro and hella jeff book is incomplete now, though : p
-
Oh man, you got one too?
-
^_^
-
Well, it only seems right that this thread comes back for one last ride now that Homestuck has officially ended.
Did anyone read to the end? Thoughts?
-
The news post was updated, there is going to be an epilogue. It's not over just yet.
Welcome to the Epipause.
-
I got pretty close, but one of those insufferable and tedious multi-select things fatigued me to the point of putting off finishing it. I'm very close to the end, but far enough away that I'd need to dedicate a good chunk of the day to catching up.
I'll do it soon.
-
Haha, when you do, bump this thread and we can all talk about it properly. I'll have a more level headed opinion on it by then.
-
rest in stuck. Wish Act 7 was a full act with dialogue but that animation was pretty gud.
(Homestuck is my favorite anime)
-
Ending was well animated and has great music, but everything recent just smacks of "Okay I'm done with this time to end it." I'd have a hundred questions, if I remembered what those questions even were. As it is it seems the ending was basically "big battle k end" which is 100% not how I expected a story this convoluted to go down.
I guess it really did just get too big and overwheming. The standard bar went up so high that trying to meet it squelched out all the little things that made the story charming.
Well, its been like a billion years since it started, so I guess I can't complain about how much content we got anyway.
Problem Sleuth's epilogue was good. I expect the same out of Homestuck's.
-
This went on for like 7 years? That's a pretty good job
-
I am confused. Everyone I know says Homestuck is a web comic I think yet I hear it has music and animations and now multiple choices?? Sounds more like a visual novel or whatever that term is for things made to make a story more interactive and game-like. While I can see how that'd make in interesting....When I read a web comic it's much like reading a novel for me. I hear, feel and see things as actively as if I were wearing an 3D headset with a nice pair of speakers. To have music suddenly come from my phone or to be offered choices like an old school Goosebumps book would be...distracting and mind breaking methinks. ^^;

It has a few segments like Openbound where you can actually move around and talk to people.
-
It's a more multimedia experience, though primarily a webcomic.

O.O Wha...? Hmm...maybe I should try to make my web comic as a game liek everyone suggested but with this kind of idea in place. Gonna research that since my ability to draw may be high but comic panels remain a firm weakness. - -;
-
I'm glad you stuck with it to the end, Sai. It made me sad that you'd given up when you'd been so passionate about it before.
I mostly agree with you; the comic started like an amazing chocolate sculpture carved in the shape of a riddle, but act six was mostly like a bunch of delicious chocolates sitting on the floor with no real shape, and the riddle was never truly answered.
-
I'm glad you stuck with it to the end, Sai.
Ehh, you could say that. More accurately, friends would periodically get all passionate about Homestuck and I would catch up on a few months of updates to be able to talk to it about them. The story definitely had some big ups and downs - honestly, I never got really into the post-scratch Earth kids and their drama, but whatever. I can say I've read it front to back. Its weird, because I remember hearing about this starting when I was still in college, like, what, seven years ago? ****. I know where the time has gone, but its just unbelievable what a run this thing had. It was originally scheduled for two, three years tops?
Well, whatever.
Wake me when the epilogue hits.
-
I hope people don't think Homestuck is over. Homestuck is def crafted out to become a franchise of itself. Hussie himself said he didn't consider Homestuck to be his Magnum Opus yet. Homestuck still has Paradox Space, the side web comics for people to dive into, and then we have Hiveswap, the Homestuck game that's still being worked on.
-
Visually, the animation was fantastic. Plotwise though, well... My thoughts at the time were
*animation ends*
"Wow, I can't wait to see what happens next"
*The end*
"I see."
Lord English's death was worse than Bane's in The Dark Knight Rises, and that's saying something.
-
I hope Archem is assuming there'll spoilers by this point.
I agree; Lord English's defeat... ... ...the trouble is timey wimeyness. So the four kids had been trapped in caliborn's juju by Caliborn... Shortly before he himself had his soul trapped inside lil cal with Equiussprite and Gamzee, eventually creating Lord English. So I guess when Vriska unleased the juju the kids emerged and did battle... Off screen? At the same time that Calliope's Black Hole was consuming the universe anyway? I mean I know that was needed to remove the Green Sun but it also seemed to be eating everything by the end?
Unless I'm missing a bunch of stuff.
The actual battles against Lord English in Collide were a little silly anyway. Unlike the Conderce's battle with Roxy John Rose and Kanaya which was awesome.
-

It's amazing how any of that is reasonable. I haven't followed this so it's like I'm reading a foreign language right now
