Title: 5th Annual Rm*Misao Awards: Category Nominations Open

Welcome to the fifth annual Rm* Misao Awards, where the community decides the best and the worst from 2005 in the categories it chooses.

A simple rundown of the rules:

First, although this is a publicly voted award, this year, a "viable" contribution to the Rm* community is necessary for nomination and voting. ( There is an exception that is listed below ). A "viable" contribution can include a substantial demo release or Rm* original resource. ( RmXP scripts, midis, sprites. ) Please post your qualifications here ( http://www.***** ) so your nominations and votes will count! ( Note: The definition of "viable" is fairly flexible. )

There are 3 rounds of participation in the general awards. The first round is category nomination, which takes place at http://www.***** . In this round, the properly qualified public will decide what categories Misao awards will be offered in. To get a rough idea of what these categories consist of, links to the previous winners are listed at the links on the bottom of the Misao webpage.

The second round consists of game nominations for each of the categories in the first round. A game needs two nominations to be eligible for voting, which takes place in the third round. After the third round, winners will be announced.

After the general awards, to commemorate the 5th year of the Misaos, a special committee will be nominated by the public to choose 5 "special" Misao awards. The categories and winners will be decided by the committee, and any game over the course of Rm* history is eligible. Again, only properly qualified nominators ( Post your name and qualifications here) can participate in the nomination process. However, they are allowed to nominate ANYONE within reason, even people who would not otherwise qualify for participation in the Misaos. ( So, for example, Hiretsukan, the developer of the Fury^2 engine, can not participate in nominations or votes, but can be nominated for the special committee. )
