Title: New Moderator Applications
Post by: Osmose on July 26, 2008, 01:56:09 AM
Due to inactivity, Midnight and DragonBlaze have been removed from their mod roles (They are still ranked as staff currently, much like Sai'Kar as "advisors" until a decision is made what to do with them).

We are in need of new mods. Forums that have been opened and may possibly be assigned mod include:

There may be more forums that get mods. This is not a definitive list.

What we want from YOU guys are applications to become moderators. You feel that you can help quell the site? Submit an application by posting in this thread.

You choose how much or how little you want to say about your abilities. You do not get to choose what you get assigned. By applying, you're saying that you're willing to help the site by being an active moderator, participating in staff discussions, etc. You will be responsible not only for watching your own forum closely, but keeping an eye out for any other bad posts and getting a global mod or admin to handle it if you can't.

Don't apply if you aren't sure that you can do the job; If you're unsure about how much time you will be able to spend on Charas, don't bother - we want active people.

You also need to not be afraid to do things without permission. A mod can't rely on their superiors 24/7. If you feel your forum needs stricter rule, do so. At the same time, don't fight with the admins. I get pissed off easily and I'm okay with firing people I don't like. :P

This thread is for APPLICATIONS ONLY. Don't post here with anything but applications. I'm not liable for what I do (3 day ban, smacking your grandmother, etc) if you post anything besides an application. *twitch*

I'm quite fairly active, (I'm on any possible moment I can be...), and I believe that I'd be able to follow any kind of order given to me easily.  It also would be good practice for me to have some kind of control over a group of people and a great experience for my future.  Uh... I hope that's good...?  I've never done an application before...

I'll apply. Any position works for me, although I'm not really active in RPG Maker Programming or Tutorials since I don't do that sort of thing, so I probably wouldn't be a good choice for either of those. I'm active to the point of being here pretty much every day that I can even go online. I might not post as much as others, but this is because I only post when I have at least decent input concerning the topic at hand. I try to take an objective stance on issues, never having any sort of bias. To me, fairness is fairness and everyone should be subjected to the same rules. I'd rather apply just here and not for mayor because I'm not much of a campaigner; I just try to do all that's necessary.

I'd be glad to be part of the Staff.
I've never modded any forum, so I don't have any experience, I know, but I'd have to start somewhere, and I believe I can do the job.
I'd participate in Staff discussions as much as I can, which means everytime I'm online. I've been there for 3 years, I respect the rules, rarely ever spammed, usually post when I really have something to say, never got in any fight and I'm pretty much active now, mostly everyday.
I wouldn't be as bad as it may have seemed in my recent posts, but I wouldn't be afraid to use strict method if I feel like I should.
Also, no favoritism or such. Older members should be treated the same as newer members.
I'd do my best to keep it clean.

I'm applying. I've run several forums and clubs of my own, and although I'm a newer member than some, I'm pretty active and experienced at mayordom. I think I have a good balance between letting the forum grow and snipping away the nasty parts that cause problems.

I'm a very active member, yet sometimes childish. I don't spam unless I have a feeling it's necessary. My grammar is good compared to some other members. If a Raffle's "attack" comes and I happen to be Test and Welcome mod, I'll lock it before anyone sees it, and throw it into either Quarantine or the Junk Bin. Or just delete it. I have been a mod and a very well promoter for a forum. However, if they're is some age rule, I will apply for Mayor instead.

I'm applying. I'm probably one of the most active members. I know pretty much the personality and activity of most member of the forum, could probably list em off if need be. Have no problem moderating, no fear of "hard feelings". I've wanted to be a mod or some such for awhile just because Charas is the only forum I frequent anymore, and I wanna give back. I also write short to the point sentences. They often stack each other, like this.

Also, it wouldn't end up like resource manager. I wouldn't forget the password. Hah.

Meh, I'll sign up. I'm becoming active again and I can't see any reason for leaving.

Let's get straight to the point: I am perfectly aware that this account is practically brand new. However, as I have explained before, I have technically been here since 2005, just under two older accounts. Through my old accounts, I have witnessed Charas' many rises and falls, and I have seen the history of the forum play out in front of me, just like any other old member from 2005. Only recently did I decide to return to the forums, and in doing so I have now become an active member. For right now, I'm about 99% sure it's going to stay that way. That, and Charas is my homepage, so I couldn't really forget about it if I tried.

If I get chosen, it would be my first time doing anything important for a forum. I've never been a moderator before, but I have done my fair share of server administration on a few games here and there. I imagine that maintaining and moderating a game server is a lot like moderating a forum, probably even less demanding. Either way, I think I'm prepared enough for the job.

I'm also a pretty obedient person, and I'll be ready to take orders from anybody.

Staff meetings, no problem. I have a lot of time on my hands, I'll probably be able to make it to all of them.

I can do it. I mean, come on, I'm an EXTREMELY active member that isn't constantly angry or talking about sex.

I guess I could run for the spot as RPG Maker Programming moderator. There are new people who come here with rather easy questions but we more or less don't even bothere answering them these days.

So I guess I coud do what I'm doing already; helping the people in the RPG Maker Programming board with their questions and hopefully be able to figure out some more complicated stuff over time. It's not like I know every possible thing about rpgmaker 2k3 but I do have knowledge and experience.
And with me as the mod, newbs would know who they could PM on the RPG Maker Programming board now that DB got a life.

Well, I've been co-op admin on 2 websites, one rpgmaker and one RP. Been moderator on at least, 2-3 I think. It's only a shame that the admin himself or/and the members lost interest.

Well, that's my application at least. I know there are people more suited for the task though but I'm not sure that they would have the patience or time to be here as much. But hey, what do I know...

I'd like to apply.

I have some moderating experience, not saying I'm The Moderation Guru but I can pick things up pretty sharp.

I'm very active; I have no life and nothing better to do, so I'd at least take pride in keeping the Forums clean. ;)

I'd like to think I understand the people here; I can talk to people, give advice or orders or such, and generally understand what's going on. I'm just part of the crew.

My spelling and grammar are pretty good, role model etc etc.

I'm usually serious and on-topic, and I can take part in a discussion without being biased.

I can suppress my villainy.

No idea what to say, so yep, there's my application.

I would love to be a mod. I did disappear for a while, but I've recently become active again and plan on staying active for a while. As for reasons why I think I'd be a good mod: Well, I've held a job for near two years, which isn't much in comparison to other people but I figure it shows that at least I have some sense of responsibility. I don't feel I'm immature or would make decisions. If I get the position I'd do my best to keep the forum I'm assigned in order. I could easily sign on to Charas every day of the week, but realistically I would probably be on six out of seven days of the week. If that is not enough I could easily put more time in.

So, yeah, that's all. :D

I tire of having these pass me by. Failing at every attempt. This time I am serious! I will prove that I can be useful.  I tire of you people thinking of me as a clown. Though it is my own doing that such an image has been produced of me, I can assure you all that I do have experience. I currently moderate a network of Kaillera users and am highly regarded as one of the few good mods on said system.

I would like to now remove this image of foolishness from my name and prove that I can think in a more logical manner than anyone I've ever known.

I. Tire. of my lack of support. I will make something of myself with this.

I would like to apply; I have been an active member since December 2004 and have previous staff experience from other forums. I have recently put in my two-weeks at my job, so I will have more time to spend on the forum once school starts early next month.
I'm used to large amounts of responsibilities and, as a result, am extremely responsible. I'm unbiased, a good decision maker, intelligent, and mature. I'm also extremely orderly.
I've really grown up on this forum and would love to give back to it what it has given me.

I would like to apply for modship. I know it sounds like an odd fit, but then again, I'm not responsible for keeping order as of right now. I'm actually pretty good with keeping order, and if I have a role with a responsibility, I can behave accordingly. I'm very active (this is true), so there's not much of a worry about me not being there to do my job. I'm a very likable person (if I wasn't, I'd be in all sorts of trouble with the community by now), I respect almost everyone (I'll admit that I have my problems with some particular parties), I'm pretty good at making my posts clear and understandable (helpful when dealing with someone who needs to be made extra-aware of what's going on), and I'm Archem.

I mean, come on. What better way to make me conform to the rules than by making me enforce them? Hypocrisy is not one of my strong points. ;)
