Title: Bugs Report and Suggestions
Post by: GaryCXJk on July 16, 2004, 11:36:11 AM
Like every program, Charas.EX has bugs. So, what I want you to do, is to post here any bugs you see.

Also, you can submit any suggestions here.

A small note, if I have the time, I'll make a base for Faces.EX and BChar.EX, so people with PB can try and make them too.

BUG: Importing a image then saving it as a resource causes a crash.
BUG: When using zoom on import window, zoom should only show zoomed image, not if you move mouse else where.

When you use the online and the offline generators at the same time, Charas.EX messes up.

What kind of computer do you have? What are the specs? What is the OS? With me it works fine

About the import bug, it's damn difficult. I wish he made a stand-alone thing.

About the skins, yeah, that's what I thought of too.

Fix 1. I recommend not downloading it unless you want to beta check. This means checking EVERYTHING. It may cause some damage to your resources. Anyway, I fixed the first bug, but I'm not sure if this was the right method...

About Free Money, what do you mean?

And about the more language thingy, here's the list of supported languages:

Well, here ya go! With thanks to GPI.

EDIT: Dark_Savant0, what do you mean with the bug? With me I don't get errors.
Title:
Post by: Dark Savant0 on July 19, 2004, 04:36:02 PM
Well, when I import them(Battle-Chars) into the window, they look too big. Then when they are imported, Charas.ex gives me an error. This happens to all battle-char things. And it also seems that they have a different setup, ie the two bodies are not the same(the available resources and the online thing). I therefore think they must be done by hand, and poses 2 and 3 have no suit at all. I think we should abandon this portion of Charas.ex because it serves no purpose other than to annoy people. They can use the Battle-Chars Generator instead. And it works with those online. Unless you guys can figure this out.

Well, I'll remove this function ASAP. It's useless anyway. You can always import by hand by the way.

Umm, do you guys have a new binary I can use? And someone have shalom help maker so I can edit that help into better English for others and into other languages.

Binary of the generator here!

Hopefully...

Also, Shalom's Help Maker:

And I'm already working on a fix, because I added some stuff to Charas.EX.

Sorry for late reply, but this can't be fixed. And it is no bug. The first version had this too.

The char BG stays when you even play the game..like you get a yellow box around your guy when you use him if you pick a yellow BG in the generator..

Topic kick -.-

thats not a bug. when importing something you need to click the background so it flashes. that will make it transparent

That's not a topic kick, it's a sticky topic and it was only one from the top.

Title: Generated characters dont work right
Post by: raiyzer on March 29, 2005, 05:10:15 AM
hey, i dont know if this is a bug or i am doing something wrong. when i use a generated character online or off something wierd happens. In game they have a square around them that is usually the color of the background in the bmp/png. and in the editor window where you assign actions to events and assign a sprite, in the window that displays the sprite you have chosen, there are black bars on both sides of the window. why is that?

I'm running a pretty crappy system atm. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or a hardware problem of mine....okay here goes:

Not all the time but sometimes when I switch from the face section to the items section the program freezes and shuts down with no error msg. Charas.EX is a great program and saves me alot of time recoloring charsets and such...THX guys.

P.S.
My crappy system specs atm.
400mhz. AMD K6-2
128 MB Ram
S3 Virge (Video)
Win XP

Does any of this have any link to the program crashing?

Well, it seems that Windows XP closes any program randomly. But I'll run trough the code sometime soon.

Okay, I've got a few ideas I've had on my mind for a couple days for the Charas Gen, so...

Animal charset generator
Vehicle set generator
RMXP charset generator
Horseback charset Gen

That's about it.

To fix the sword on his back, you have to change its transparency in the boxes up top.

I don't know if this is a bug but... it keeps randomly closing and i keep losing everything. One time it closed after  5 mins another after 2 and at one time it happened right after opening it! It's getting really stressfull and my computer is to slow to use the online one. It seems to only happen in the CharSet which for me is the most vital part. Please someone help!

I don't think charas.ex is supported anymore.
Seeing as this topic is almost 3 years in emptiness.

Sorry dude D:
