Title: Some questions about Idraw3 (mostly)
Post by: Valiere on March 24, 2009, 10:05:13 PM
1. Is there a way to import a palette from another sprite? I thought "Load Palette from File" would do the trick, but it doesn't. I'm trying to easily re-color some of my sprites, so if you have any advice on that, I'm all ears.

2. What's the point of the left hand/right hand thing? Is there some special reason for it? Is it just a way to program it so you can show weapons appearing behind the battle sprite?

I had another one, but I'm drawing a blank, so that's all for now.

1. There is a way to edit each color in the palette from the palette screen and that is pretty easy.

2. I think there's a feature like that in Idraw3. That might be it, it's been a while since I used it, I should get back to it so I can be more helpful. XD

Okay, more on the right/left hand thing. Is there a way to make it so the fighters always attack with their left hand? I'm looking around for the option, but no dice.

Battlecharsets are always right-handed because if they were left-handed and facing left, they would have the rest of their body hidden when using most weapons, and that doesn't look as good.

Yeah, but if they're always right-handed, then they have most of the weapon obscured from view, and the weapon only shows up for one pose.

In some of my battle charsets, I made poses for holding a rifle and two-handed weapon that were intended to be done in left-handed view...that is, the weapon is supposed to overlap the character. Is it impossible to accomplish this and I just screwed up big time?
