Hi everyone this is a brand new game! Yay!!!! But I dont have a RPG maker! Boo-hoo! So please post away!

Here is some info on my game. One day my char (I dont have a name for him) walks outside his house and sees his village on fire and many ninjas retreating from his village. When he's older he travels around the world looking for the boss who is a ninja (duh! lol). Here is a picture of him!

I really think you start the game off differently. People usually turn their heads when they see the beginning have the main character's village burn.

ugh...YOu need to have sort of more of a storyline and since you don't know what your doing(Im guessing) no offence, people might excuse you. another thing you can't tell people to post away this is to discuss your game/ show what you have done. oh and alot of people don't play games because they are RTP which is the graphics that come with rpg maker. But if you need help with anything people here will help you

It's my opinion. Don't start this again, lan.

The story is too basic and most likely won't get many people to play it. You need to have plot twists, hooks, anything that can be used to help make this game appealing. While many don't like RTP graphics, I think some would play a game with RTP if it is used correctly.

As a side note, if you disagree with me or think I'm an a-hole, go right ahead and think that way. I'm just trying to help improve, not just criticize because I want to.

I agree with Rune on this. The village that burns introduction is included in so many games....

Then again, this ain't my game so the final choice is his.

Well honeslty I havent seen a RPG maker game with a burning village at the very start. I only saw it in Fable and BOF... So maybe he still has a chance, dont you think? all depending how it happens and what happens when he comes out the house and sees the houses burning.

Then after that he still has a chance if he adds stuff in further of the game, but only if he places it after the intro.

Maybe not start off going to a cave or a forest or a castle. But what if he went for a walk and fell down a hole and had to get out of it? But stuff in there gets wierd and he sorta unleshes the mystical monsters to the real world from that demension.

I really dont think my game makes more sence than this. Im just going with it I got pissed with the older story I spent days writing that totally didnt go with the aspect of the name.

And jsut so you know. You cant jsut download rpgmaker and make a game. Its been a year ive been playing with it and all my games. wait what games? I wasnt able to make any ecause my lack of expiriance with rm2k. I still have to start using virables and stuff liek that. If you dont use virables and such ure doombed.

But if you just want to make a game for your own pleasure, GO FOR IT AND GOOD LUCK!!!

No dude you can have that but ad more twist to the begining and start it out but you can have the burning village:

Example: 'Xenogears for instance talks about what is going on in the world and then it shows the main character doing something and you do little things until he goes to a specific place and comes back and his village is burning.'

You can also add more depth to your characters like a dark past and somehow link different villians to other people or link the "good guys" with the villians or with some other force like a king

Your characters name is Isamu for now which means brave okay? I will use places from Xenogears do not use change names to your own making

In the village of Lahan lived Isamu, a skilled swordsman who excels at using dual katanas. He woke up one morning to go out in the fields and begin training. Out in the fields he came across his mentor, Hachiro.
They began to chat and then they heard and explosion, then dashed back to the village of Lahan and found the ninjutsu master Hanzo Hattori standing there. He ingulfed the village in flames and He summoned his Kage Ninjas over to him. They surrounded Isamu and Hachiro but when Isamu say his childhood friend *Akiko laying on the ground(Akiko mean autumn child or bright child) dead with her eyes rolled into her head, he went beserk and became the Slayer of mortals...AKIRA...after wiping out the forces of Hanzo, Hanzo vanished into thin air. Hachiro awoke and spoke to Isamu, who awoke minutes later. Then Isamu is forced to flew into the mountains of Hiei and recover himself and get over the traum and eventually rebuild Lahan...

That was based on the Xenogears begining use your own stuff and if you like you can use the japanese names I have given you

Sorry this is a totally different story but you may also use it

A boy named Mathiu was taken as a child to Thapus , educated but kept as a servant, then Mathiu somehow gets away and returns to his homeland, Carrhae. Once Mathiu goes to Carrhae, and finds out that he is the son of a noble who was slaughtered for supporting the other side, and thus Mathiu goes on a journey to join the army of the other faction.

Well, the start of Legend of Dragoon has Dart's village burning and they managed to make it work. If you've got a PS rent it and play through it, maybe get some ideas. I'd give you some through PM, but I don't wanna spoil it for others here.
