Well my operating system vanished. Right now I'm running it from a disc, and whenever I take the disc out, my computer freezes. Anyway, untill I fix this problem, I won't be on at all. I tried to use the repair function on the operating disc to restore my os, but I needed some type of password, and I don't know what it is :(
So right now I'm facing a delema, since I cant use my cd drive to back my stuff up on cds, I don't really want to erase everything and reboot, because thats gigabytes of stuff lost that will take me years to get back, some of the stuff taking days of downloading with dial up to get back. Before my computer got really bad, I was able to backup some of my more important files including my game, so at least that isn't lost.
Anyway, I don't know the cause of the problem, so I'm not sure if once I repair everything, it will elimiate the cause or not. It first started two days ago when I was playing a playstation game on my computer, all of the sudden it froze, so I had to turn the power off, when I turned it back on, all the lights on my keyboard were flashing chaoticly, and it was making a funny noise. I noticed that my compy was really hot. When I restarted it, everything seemed fine, but then the next day it froze every hour or so, or a blue screen saying an error occered popped up. This is the first time I ever got one of those errors on XP. So, right now I'm thinking 1 of 3 things could have happened, first is that my computer overheated, and it messed with some files, or possibly some hardware. 2, something got messed up with my video settings, or some other settings. 3, I have a virus, I scanned a bit, but my anti-virus program is a year or two outdated.
I'll be able to read this post from school, but since this site is blocked, I can't get around it and get myself logged in. Anyway, if you have some info that could help me, please post it up :D

I had something like that wrong with my computer not long ago. Unfortunately, if you don't have a backup, I don't think there's anything you can do.
Try uninstalling your emulator (I take it that's what you were using to play the game) and then running Defragmenter a few times. If your Defragmenter freezes or won't work, there's nothing you can do. That happened to me; fortunately I had a sort of semi-backup (I had most things backed up, unfortunately, my game wasn't one of them :().
Anyways, come back soon. Good luck!

OOHHH!! Idea on how to back some of your stuff up. Buy a nice Flash Drive, or something of that sort (might be known as USB Memory) and save important stuff on there. You can get them anywhere up to 1 GB (mines just 256, and it was $20). Just an idea...
-
Yeah, but I had so many files that even a gigabyte of space on one of those ubs drives wouldn't be enough, luckilly though, I was able to back everything up somehow.
I reinstalled my operating system, which caused me to loose all my files and everything, and then reinstalled it. I still have the error though :(. Fortunatly, I think I have a two year warrenty on this computer, so I may be able to get it fixed for free. I'm guessing its hardware falure, so there isn't anything I can do by myself at this moment. I don't think the emulator caused the problem, because I have been using it for a year or so allready without any problems, but it most likely overheated and short curcuited something.
Anyway, I'll be shipping this compy to texas to get it fixed, so it'll probably be another week or so before I can really get around to posting anything. I'll have to find something to do offline untill then, but I'll manage ;)
Sorry man. I guess I'm on my own with your battlesprites. Bummer.
Don't worry, I'll get em done myself. I have a 10 year old computer that can run ms paint (although thats about it), but thats all i need to make a battle char :D

Sorry to hear that happened to you.
Man, I'd die if that happened. All my cool stuff like charsets and the like as well as my SNES emulator are on my PC.
And X_marks_the_ed, that joke... I took it.... er... not too well. Keep your sacreligious comments to yourself.

Oooooo
Hope things go better DB. Hope you should pay nothing.
And I see ya' there!

Well, he got his comp fixed, but lost everything. He told me that for some reason he can't read what was saved on the disks, which also means that he lost his game too...:( However, he still has a backup online, but that version is missing about 40% of work, he says. So, whether he'll continue working on it or not is uncertain, but at least he got the computer fixed. Sucks about the game though, man. :(

I concur with that, to some extent.
This has happened to me like, 3 times now, but now I save everything on a disk once I get around 300-400 more mbs on my computer.
