Title: Arturo's World of Magic
Post by: tamo_konichi on April 21, 2005, 04:09:27 AM
What do you think? I got the idea from Red Giant and his Adventures of Red comics. Anyone think this would be a good idea? I ound a way to use the charaset maker and still have the images at a good size. Good comments? Bad Comments? Let me know, because what you say may decide if I do this or not.

Hmm...well, I'm just trying to find a way to be active. Seems a lot of people are having problems with the fact I'm not very active, and I was hoping this could be a way for me to be active. Figured I'd get some feedback on it, though, before I got all "Yeap, I'm doing it"

Yeap, I'm currently working on pulling the charas off of the Character Maker. So, it'll be a day or two before the first comic is put up. I'll start posting them here when I start getting them.

It looks like you're using paint to assemble/save the comics. Speaking from experience, there's a lot of better programs out there. Ones that you can save as gifs or pngs without losing a lot of quality, like what happens when you save as jpg. You might want to look into one of those.

Actually, Artoni, I'm using ImageFolio for making the backgrounds. I'm just not good at making backgrounds, so it doesn't look very good. Oh, and here's the second one. This ends the introduction of Arturo's Wonderful World of Magic.

How about you to rip bg from games?, it works well for many comics.

PLEASE make the characters smaller so we can see them. Also, please make them funny.

Problem: Sorry, but if I make smaller sets, I can't do much with them...I guess I could try...but I think making them smaller is going to make the comics a lot more difficult to make. Umm...also note...that wasn't supposed to be funny, it was simply introducing the characters. I'll do my best to make the others funny, but I dunno yet, since I'm not really a "funny person". I WILL TRY, BUT NO GUARANTEES! With my luck...it'll end up like my LOSSH series, which was just plain dumb, and is why I discontinued making the LOSSH series.

Okay, I ran the charaset generator again, and this time I grabbed the small charaset. I put both of them next to each other, and now I need your input. I have a small problem. A normal charaset is too small for me to be able to make a good comic with, but according to some people I talked to, the big one is too hard to see...so...I need a solution...I've placed a picture of Jessica with her small and big self.

All right, I've figured out what to do. I ran over a comic my friend did, and he had charasets the same size as the norm, so, be expecting that they are going to shrink down a lot. Hope no one has a problem with that, since I can't do it in between. Also, can anyone supply me with backgrounds for the comics? I need backgrounds now.

Okay, here's comic #3. It was a little harder to make because I used natural size charasets. Tell me what you think. If it's too small...then that means I'm gonna have to scrap the project, because I can't make them any bigger. Oh, and Leon, I didn't know that before. I got the idea from Red Giant and his comics, so I figured I'd make my own. I didn't know someone was already doing this too. Well, I guess we can work together then. Maybe you can give me the link to your topic and we can just both post comics in the topic, that way we aren't using up two topics.

EDIT: Anyone have comic ideas, or want their character to appear in a comic? If so, then let me know either by PM or by reply. If you wanna be in it, hand me a charaset of your character and I'll see what I can do. Thanks ^^

It's not just Leon. There have been at least 15-20 sprite comics attempts. AT LEAST.

Yeah, ther'es probably been a lot of sprite comics, but hey, who's to say one of them won't work out someday? Maybe I'll do it, maybe someone else. We'll never found out unless we try, right?

Umm...should I make a website for these comics? -ponders- I guess I could just use the Comicmakersanonymous that I have already...that would work...I dunno...I'll tell ya when I post next.

Yeah, I know. I'm still working on the "funnyness" of it. I'm not very good at "funny" but I'm trying. So far, nothing has been meant to be funny. I'm trying to think of a new idea for the comic, though, so it might be a bit before I have any ideas.
