Title: Help with battle charset!
Post by: fuzzy_cheez2 on April 23, 2005, 09:48:42 PM
Okay, here's the problem. I am attempting to test some clothes for a battle charset. Whenever I do it, then the body shows out from behind the dress! For example, I want to have the right arm pointing down, but the body set-thing has it pointing to the left. I noticed that the other clothes on Charas already don't have this problem. How in the world do I work around this problem?

Oops. I didn't think about that. Here:

I'm guessing you either:

* added the body yourself
* don't know how to use the almost-white thing.

And because Gary feels like not telling you how to use it, here's what you do:

If you want anything in your resource to be white, but not be transparent in Charas, you need to make it what is called "almost white". Basically, you take whatever program you use, and go into color selection, and pick a shade of white that is just almost pure white but not quite. Even better, if your program allows you to use hex codes, change it to #FFFFFE.

Use this white on the parts that you want to erase and it should work.

Thanks, that helps. I thought about doing that, but then wouldn't that leave an "almost white" splotch on the finished product that shows when you're playing the game?

Yeah, but you'll just have to edit that out once you've got it generated.

Thanks a lot! I have one more question. If I were to submit a recolor of something, how would I make it another version of an existing resource? Does it do that automatically?

If you submit a recolor, everything else will be done for you.

Actually, PHP can filter the almost-white out.
