Title: Has anyone else heard of 3d gamestudio?
Post by: AsakuraHao2004 on April 23, 2005, 11:54:55 PM
I wanted to know if anyone's heard of and/or used a little program called 3d gamestudio. I wanted some opinons on the maker. I have some screens, from a game a friend of mine is making.

Pretty, huh? It looks good, but hard to work with. Apparently, with this you can make 3d first person shooters, a little advanced from RPGMaker, no?

Question: Freeware?

If not... I ain't gettin. It wouldn't be worth it. And I wonder if it has online support...

Well, it may look like those games, but at least it's more advanced than the other makers.

There's a free trial version  here (http://www.conitec.net/a4info.htm), which I myself havent tried yet, but I'm definatly gonna look into it, I'm still somewhat amazed by those screens.

If you noticed the graphics aren't that spectacular compared to ones like Unreal 2004 or Mechwarrior 4. Btw, the Unreal Engine, though costly is allowing others to use it under liscenses. Though you'll have to script and know how to model and map and etc in 3D.

That's like when a person says "RPG Maker isn't that spectacular compared to something like Final Fantasy". You can't make it look like something on PS2 or xbox without years of practice, This just simplifies it. I'm still not gonna look into it though :p .

The thing that makes it bad is that they want money. When you can buy a scriptable engine for little money that is much more powerful.

I used it once a long time ago. Your friend used the tutorial for a first person shooter that came with the program. A bit complicated, but not a bad system.

I agree. Saying this maker isn't as good as Unreal Tournament 2004 is laike compairing RPG Maker to something like Star Ocean, or Final Fantasy.

laike?

-_- There is a difference. We didn't buy RPGM. 3DGM is a bought tool.

Yeah, if I'm going to buy a game making program, I want it to look atleast a little better than that.

Well, I've personally never seen any better game maker program, freeware or not. Besides, I don't have to pay. Keygen.

well, I would like something like this if i wanted to try out making a 3d shooter. Because you have to think, when u pay extra for something that may have worse graphics than buying an engine, ur paying for the simplicity of it. When you buy the engine, that's all you're getting.

Like buying the engine to a car over the car itself.

I have something similar to that. The 3D Game Maker. Unfortunetly I have the 'lite-special edition' copy that's only half of what the proper game has. It's very good fun because you can make cool 1st person shooters on it.

Dude, the deleted my post....thatīs so....
Well, keygenīs a little nice program that generates a CD-Key for a program. It is illegal, most times itīs a virus but it saves you the trouble to gather the money to pay the abusive prices...itīs a two edged sword...
