When checking new posts on different threads i hear about Drows and i just don´t know what they are.
What i think is that they are some kind of Darkelf...
Guess im wrong, but i can´t live with not knowing what a Drow is!
Pl tell me.

Drow is a Forgotten Realms' version of a dark elf. Mostly in R. A. Salvatore's books.
-
So they are pretty much the same?
Drow-Darkelf-No differense?
-
Not really - of course the differences are mostly in writers, how they make them. Usually, dark elves and drows are evil killers who just plan to kill each other and so on. Read R. A. Salvatore's booktrilogy which consists of Homeland, Exile and Sojourn. They're even pretty cheap (or at least here). The books aim only to the drows and their life (of course there is the hero, who is good drow and fights against the bad way of life his people lives)
They're even pretty good books.

OK that explained it. Thanks Perkle.
Now i got nothing to wory about...

Well, R. A. Salvatore is one of the most hated fantasy writers , and Drizzt Do'Urden (main character of his most books) is one of the most hated characters. Mainly because Salvatore writes pretty "cliché" fantasy and Drizzt has got pretty "saintly" (or what it is) behavior.
But the Dark elf trilogy is best bookserie by Salvatore, and if you want to get some information of drows, read them.

I wonder if my school has them...
I guess not cuz my school libary....hmm..is just so...so bad!
-
No problem :D
My school's library sucks too...
The books cost something about 10 euros.
-
In Sweden it would be something about 99,87 kr or something.
It really sucks.

I disagree that Drow and Dark Elves are synonomous.
To me, 'Drow' is the stereotype - black skin, white hair, live underground. Evi, evil, evil.
'Dark Elf' is just another subspecies, like Wood or Sea Elf. In this case, dark-skinned (think brown), dark hair, more arabian style then anything. They may be a little more into demonic or "evil" magics, but they aren't as a whole evil.

agreeance there. I have read Salvatore's books, but that sounds more correct.

It's a matter of appearance and temper. Also appearance might change depending on who they worship. Most worship Lloth(Spider Queen) and live underground so their skin might be darker.
Those who worship Kiaransalee(spelling?) are mostly living on the surface so they tend to have paler skin than the underground one. They also are less agressive since Kiaransalee is the godess of good drows. Underground Drows despises elves and surfacers and just about anyone that breaths lol

But afterall, drows are Salvatore's versions of dark elves, and that's what I was after.
