Since I didn't want to make a new topic, i edited this thread. I have a few questions on what I should do.
1. Should I have monsters stand still until you get a certain distance close to them?
2. Should I have a system that knows when you still have enemies left to fight? (Like Kingdom Hearts when your bar turns red and battle music plays until you kill them all)
3. I know it would be a lot of work, but should I have a leveling system?
4. If so, how many levels should I have? I think 100 is too many, first of all, it would be really hard to program, and 2nd (the most important reason) is the game probably wont be long enough to reach level 100 even with the side quests I'm going to have.
Please help me out!

Sweet! Good Job! :)

Thanks. For anyone who dosen't have it yet, you attack with Z and use your special attack with X. If you're having problems getting into rush, stand in the enemys way. If you are in his way too long (or just happen to cross his path at the right time) he WILL shoot at you.

You have to copy the "RPG_RT" file from another game folder into it.

Pretty cool, the graphics are okay, but the system is good. I like the ability to slash and shoot. Keep up the good work. :D

I've taken the demo down.
I MIGHT have to to convert the game to using just numbers to display HP/MP, which might not look too great, but it's the only thing I can do, unless someone can help me with the display bars.

1) Monsters should stand still, or at the most move within a small radius. But you don't want them getting everywhere.
2) Knowing you have enemies left to fight would be useful.
3) Sure, leveling system. Go for it.
4) This I can't answer without knowing more about your game. The coward's answer is "put in as many levels as you need"

Well, the games not going to be long.. go to a few towns, fight a few bosses, the usual. But becuase the game's so linear, I'm putting in a bunch of sidequests and mini-games. I'm also programming a really hard boss with AI (or as best AI rm2k3 will allow). I kinda wanted levels for him, so that you couldnt just go up and beat him at any old level.
