Title: The Uber Class
Post by: Scarface Larry on June 09, 2005, 12:40:52 AM
What's your favorite video game class? I noticed there was a off topic discussion on this in the thread about FF7rules' FF7 fangame thread. So what's your favorite? Mine? BMs all the way. Soldiers can hit with swords, but BMs can hit with the forces of armageddon blowing all of the enemies away. That and they have funneh hats.
Edit- changed mind, Summoner. Meh, my opinion, can change it any time.

Paladins. Holy magic and sword skills. They are definately diverse and awesome.

Paladins here as well. They kick zombie butt.

Vikings. That or barbarians. Palidans may be holy an' ****, but that's not going to stop an axe.

I believe in a thing with Axe VS Swords on the History channel, swords had the advantage.

I saw that too. Swords are lighter and most axes have to be held with both hands (battle axes at least). That means you have no means of defense like a shield combined with a sword.

Best class = summoner. I'd like to see a puny Black Mage take on Odin or Bahamut or the like.

Necromancers. Summoners are over-powered...it's like summoning avatars worthy of the gods themselves -.-

Depends on the game, although I gravitate towards warrior-type classes.

I like Black Mages because they're cool, not because of their magic. :P

Plumbers or bounty hunters. Hell, probably Pokemon Trainers too.

On a serious note: summoners.

Stalkers (kit for Ranger in AD&D). Pretty much a ranger-theif. So awesome.
Game: BG:SOA

Dark Knights beat any other Dark-based class in my opinion. Sure, you can summon a skeleton or something, but considering a DK's just gonna cut through it and keep on truckin', just don't waste your energy.

Sure, I like Paladins, but my real favourite class is either the Mystic Knight or a good ol' Nightblade. Uber-death.

Tactics Ogre's Lich is always nifty. They get so much defense I find it hard to believe.
FFT's Ninjas are pretty cool as well, only for the two sword deal. I don't care too much for throwing items..

Oh, I've got it.

How about Mimics? You know, like Gogo from FF6. He was cool, even if he had virtually no personality or history. And he was in FF5 too, as an optional boss for the Mimic job.
