Title: Wanna be in FFT?

Attached below is the template for squire used in FFT. You may edit it in any way uou like, and stick anew face in place of the old one. Post it here, and I might use it in a special copy of FFT. Once a bunch of sprites for different classes are submitted, I'm ging to stick them all in an FFT iso and either 1.Burn it and offer it up as the prize for the next sprite contest, or B.Send it to the person who submits the best sprite.

Also, if you want to be a monster or a special character, say so and I'll send you a copy of that monster's sheet, since the only thing I can change at this point is sprites.

Very nice Osmose...may i ask...we can do watever we wish to edit the sprite? and you will use it? this seems very intesting i think i will bite....do you mind posting a few other characters as well or is this the only one you want us to use besides monsters

well i forget what they exactly look like so could you do three for me? the samurai, ninja, and knight....if its not to much trouble....and i was wondering can you do weapons? because i could edit one for my character as well

No, the faces don't have to be inverted. They're like that because the sprite itself and the faceset each use different palletes, and I can only export it in one.

Yes, you need to edit the whole sheet, otherwise at some point in the game someone will be able to screw up your sprite by using something like sing.

It's for a modded version of FFT, duh. :P


Also, I'm working on finding a way to edit text in the game, allowing you to have your own class name and such.

EDIT - Grah! Alright, new rule of thumb is to only use 16 colors, including the black in the back. If you ue more than that I will convert it and try to clean it up myself, but be forewarned.

 Thanks, I'm working in a "new" sprite that its pretty much mix of 4 jobs. And its more crappy than anything else I did before.

Not remake. At this point all I can do is insert new graphics.

Also, if you're making something, try not to make something different and totally new. I can't just shove you into the game, all can do is replace preexisting graphics, so if you make a time/space/blue/trash mage mix, then it's only going to be able to use time magic, since I'd stick it in for the time mage sprite.

By the way, there's two sprites I need, since I have two ideas for classes, but please can you rip the Male Monk and Lancer for me? I don't care if you can't get 'em both, either one will do.

Hmm since my char is a dragon, I don't think it would be a good idea to make it a class, unless they discover some way to shape shift :P

Post up the dragon monster sprite (red) and I'll work some magic :D

Edit: Is there a set color depth that these images need to be?

mmm, part of me thinks it would be much easier to make a base out of the squire and add the hair/clothing pieces to it, that way you could also create your own without taking a fair amount of time just getting rid of the armour/robe/clothing.

I think this should be posted as a charaset generator, IMO it's better than the Iso that is currently on the website.

Now if only we had the monster from FFT
