Title: New game, same stats from previous
Post by: Fortet on June 12, 2005, 04:13:36 AM
Okay. All you need to do is well... Nothing! Just make a series of games (possibly like FF7 with the 3 discs) that are the same game. All but the first game can be started out with 'New Game'. But the others must use past data from the previous. All you need to do is copy the save file from the program folder. It's easy. Just tested. Wow. It works. This probably isn't the first time this was figured out though, huh?

its a good idea but how do you test the party starting position....and if you copy the file wouldn't it be different with the maps...you know?

its wierd.

Not really. You'd just set it up like a regular game.

The save file records what map you're on.
If the game ends on 'MAP092' and you save, when you try to load the file in the next game, it would try to load MAP092 of the game.
It might work if you named the first map of the second game and the last map of the first game the same thing, you should have included that in your 'tutorial'.
