Okay, I'm trying to make a sprite of this guy and I can't think of a costume. He's an 86 year old AWOL dwarf who's been a farmer for 60 years. I don't want him to be in overalls or a plaid shirt but I can't think of anything that a farmer would wear but isn't what a farmer would wear beacause it doesn't quite fit in an RPG. Does anybody get the jist of what I'm talking about? I don't want him to look stupid because he's one of my favorite chars that I made. HELP ME!

Attach box, must die...

I'm a farmer so I know a bit about farm cloathing, but I'm sorry to say, overalls, plaid shirts, and straw hats are the things that really point out a farmer.
However, cloathing "rules" don't apply to games. Cloud used a sword and wore a sholder plate in a world that used guns as weapons. So basically, anything would basically fit.
Maybe you could try giving him jeans and a normal shirt, but then spicing it up with fancy sholder plates, and a few other peices of armor. And if you're really feeling ambicious, a straw hat :-p
Anyway, I don't know what else to say, so good luck!

Huh? I was think about what my granpa wears when I'm with him and that's all I thought of. But he does use an axe as a plow and a weapon so maybe have him in basic farmer style and when I get him he goes and puts on some of his old armor so he can carry his axe all the time... I'll have to try that. Thanks man! :)
If anyones got other ideas go ahead.
And if anyone wonders how he's 86 it's 'cause dwarves in my game have 4 times human longevity from a farming lifestyle

He looks like he's 36 and he doesn't look like a Dwarf to me. But hey whatever floats yer boat! Using an Axe as a plow... I should try that sometime...

Meh, my game is meant to escape all cliches so dwares arent stubby midgets and merpeople dont have tails.
-
But isn't the tail what makes them merpeople?
-
Not to me, the breathing underwater is what make them merpeople. The tail just makes them look stupid.
-
No, the tail is in there also.
And yeah, he looks young, and if they age differently than humans, make sure to include that next time. ;)
About clothes, I would just user over-alls, but make them better looking then just plain old denim and the 'average look'. And yes, if you think hard enough, you will think of something.

I thought to be classified a dwarf you had to be a midgit. How are you gonna have tall dwarfs?

That's like having tall gnomes and fat elves XD
Stick with straw hat, brown pants and red shirt. Or give him a bandana, a F*CK RULES t-shirt and some rapper pants since you want to avoid clichés to the point of having non-small dwarves -.-

Well, in all honesty, religion is a major part of my game. It's got the same kinda questions about creation vs evolution that I do, so the story is dragons created the 6 races but history reveals that the people evolved so sub plot, so yeah. Much more and it'd be spoiler.
