Title: Somthing I have Noticed
Post by: Reain_ on July 06, 2005, 06:44:44 PM
Ok Recently I had been looking around The resorces, and also at the teams and Noticed something.

There isn't a section for movie files and im surprised that there isn't a team to creat movie files for people.

I'm sure theres someone who can do them. Cuz I'm sure it would be pretty usefull for allot of people.

Though I guess a movie section in the resorces would take up allot of room so i can understand why thats not there. But if people are willing I think a movie team should be created. Cuz if people can make traillers for a game or Awsome Gif animations why can't they make a movie file?

This was just an idea any opionions on it?

Yeah, we could do gifs, and use a frame-by-frame program to do a .avi
 It would help for cutscenes.

Yea it would be great for cutscence or beggining movies.

Dose know any good Gif programs and Recorders that are free to download and use? Because if I can I would love to try and make a video and see how it runs.

Then I could make scences for my Game. If anyone else knows a good way to make movies and can they should form a Team.

I'm also searching for free .gif or .avi software. Sadly, as of yet, I've found nothing.

Which is a shame, because I'd like to be able to make my own videos from drawings.

I'll keep searching.

Well, I found a movie creating tool a while back. But it's really hard to use, makes BIG files and is more of that "WOW! IT'S LIKE A MOVIE" tool.
Sadly I've forgotten the name. But if I come up to it again I'll make sure to let someone know. Probably myself but, erm..... yes.

Movies would be cool. I'm using a program called Maya to learn how to make them. They have this great tutorial program on their site that takes you through the whole process, it takes controll of you mouse and talks to you :D

It costs money for more advanced lessons, but its not that much, so i may pay for them soon.

All I can make right now is a solar system though (or basically any outer space stuff)  :|

would tha prog by any chance be called 'Fraps'?

and if u wana make movies from pictures, you should use rm2k/3s picture events to save space

A movie team sounds like a great idea!  ;)  But I don't think there should be movies in Complete Resources, they would take up too much bandwidth.

Well, making a trailer and then a movie are two separate things. Because if you wanted to do cutscenes and such, that means that you'd have to be really good at spriting, like GhostClown or Kijuki are, because you'd have to make the characters, and then different poses frame by frame. A lot of work, if you ask me.

And fraps is just a screen recording program. I used it to record clips from my game, and yes it does make big files, but there's a program you can use to make them smaller. A program that would be needed for something like this (making the movies, not making Fraps files smaller) is Macromedia Flash or something along those lines.

Yea a complete resorce section wouldn't go so well. but for a team it be great.

You don't nessasarily need to be a good spriter in order to make good cut scences.  If you can do pictures well you could do it that way.

A Easy way of making movies though I figured would be to make a Gif image and then use a tool to record it into an movie file that you can import into rm2k. Cuz allot of people can do Gif animations.

out of interest, how much more kb will these gifs be more than normal files? *mentions bandwidth*

not, of course, that it's a bad idea. it sounds sewper.

Well most of the time we host our own images on Photobucket and they accept GIF images. and plus we could make multiple images and then merge them all into one movie clip instead of one huge gif image. plus we can't post movie files so we would need someone to host the files.

and once the gif images are no longer needed cuz we got the movie file we delete them off photobucket to free up the room on the account.

So we wouldn't really take up much of charas bandwidth
