Title: Final Fantasy Ultima Power
Post by: Sephiroth12317 on July 21, 2005, 04:04:15 PM: Hey everyone! Im back and Im making a new game! You start out as Cloud and you find yourself in your own dream. Then you wake up in your room. You walk outside and find that its a beautiful day in your town. But while your in your town, the Ultima killer is looking for some fresh blood....

And thats the story line I have made up for the game. Im sure I will think of more later on.

So post and questions you have about the game and I'll reply!

Im not to up-to-date on the terms lol RTP? And you mean the story line right? I have one but I havent posted it yet

And suggestion. I suggest making your own game with own characters and places and such but making it like, in a way, the final fantasy games. But only an opinion, you can do what you want.

So what im going to do ( And i suggest everyone does this if their new to this maker) is make a game with the graphics that come with the game to get use to the maker itself. Then after finished go back and download/add diff graphics and sets here and there.

So your saying the charsets and chipsets? Im getting more from the resources and Im trying to think of a new name insted of cloud

Huh... make me? lol, watch it :mrT:

Anyways, it's real easy, but I've never done it before. To change the hero's name while in gameplay, just select the change hero name event and the character should be able to select a new name for the character.

The only problem with this is the change hero name event doesn't work for rm2k/3. You need to find and download a patch or something for it to work.

Then when you want the character to select the name for the main character. Just have a Four way choice. Have foru different names to choose from, or you can download the patch for the hero name change and have three different namesto choose from or you can make your own.

Then have a variable that is set for whatever the choice is. If the choice is the first one, switch the variable to equal 1. If the choice is 2, set the variable to equal 2. And so on. This is so that when the character talks, you won't be displaying the wrong name. The con about this is that you'd have to create a conditional branch event before every time you hero's name was used in a messege screen.

The other idea is to jsut use facesets. But I think that's about it. :D

Did you even look at the other posts? Im not using him anymore....Anyway just so everyone knows I have a name for the main char. You will be shalek. An archer/swordsmen.

The game is a weird idea? I dont think so and some other people think that thid game is a good idea. Also Lan why do you assume Midgar is going to be in this?! Its not....The screen I posted is your town. Theres nothing like Midgar in this game yet. Maybe there will be but not yet. And yes I hate Cloud..the reason I was going to put him as the main char is because everyone else likes him. Im not sure what Im going to do with him yet. Im getting an idea that you may not want to play this game when it comes out...and thats fine, just dont jump in and start throwing things that you want in the game at me....I'll do what I want. And for the item thing thats fine. _sweat_

Also heres another screen everyone.....Look at the differences the new screen is when the Ultima Killer came threw...

I wonder why so few people ever think of making a Final Fantasy II fangame instead of starting off with a bland FF7 game. Even Square Enix is doing it.

Vincent's game is called Dirge of Cerberus it happens befor ff7 and its not the old rpg fighting system its between 3 and 1st perosn view mostly first since Vincent uses a gun and The movie comes out this year.
