Title: Forces

Okay heres the story outline...

There once was only one element on the planet, Force. But in ages gone past force was soon devided into five by the foolishness of man. This five new "Forces" consisted of Gui (fire), Fuiv (Water/Ice), Lithus (Air/Psyonics/Lightning), Nitha (Shadow), and Temra (Light). Soon after this nations rose up on the powers of these five thus forming new powers to rule the world by. As man grew in number so did the beasts decline and the demons ascend. Soon demons became the number one hunter of humans and elves. Now in a world hundreds of years later humans and elves have now forgoten all about Force, and only barely know about the "Forces". Is this the fate of man or can a single "angel" save us all?

Heres how the heroes story starts out:
The tale starts out with Vincent (The Main Hero) heading out to his guard post to his city. He soon meets a female ronin (a samurai without a master) while on his way there only to find out that she is the most wanted criminal in his city. Faced with a delimia of turning her in or saving this young and innocent girl. He examines the latter and is then struck by memories of his "lost" past, when he once knew a girl who he could not save due to his own weakness. Now older and armed with his arcane studies he decides to forget his life and save her as not a protector but as a human being. Now it is only them alone in a world after both of their heads. Will they face their sorrows and dangers, or will they die as criminals for crimes they did not commit? Only the forces know their fate...

The backgrounds and monsters are mine! I directly recognized them!!
Crazy world... Well, I myself am not really that great at spriting, but trying to learn at some times, so I can't help with the graphical department on the moment. However I'm willing to make a system graphic for the game.

I know the backgrounds are yours but as for the monsters I ripped them all... *I was bored and decided to run though ff1/2 rom*
and a system2 would be nice but otherwise I'm happy with the one I made...

EDIT/PS: Ummm I think the puzzle pic is messed up, whatever just ingore it...

Vincent
Age: 21
Class: Guardian
Element: Nitha, Temra
Info: Vincent is a proud knight of the Thiles Military. He was born in Thiles and has lived there his entire life. Knowing nothing of the outside world he's a little naive but otherwise he’s strong and at times hot headed. He seems to be the leader of the party despite the fact that Iris is the most traveled of the 8.

Iris
Age: 19
Class: Ronin
Element: Gui, Nitha
Info: Iris is the most wanted criminal in the world thanks to her father's behavior while alive. She now wanders the world trying to prove her innocence despite the fact that she has a rather handsome reward on her head and is wanted dead or alive. Her only regret is that she has many a time hurt people to escape.

Josh
Age: 24
Class: Elemental Bowmaster
Element: Gui, Fuiv, Lithus
Info: Josh is the star of the Dathom Foxes. The Dathom Foxes are the most known hunters in the country. Being the star member, Josh is known to be a little self-centered but he is other wise he has a heart of gold and sword to match. He's a little fanatic when a monster comes near due to the fact that he has a fear of them and will sometimes try running. Josh just so happens to be more potent at magic then swordsmanship and will gladly help anyone (including himself) to any magical needs (or laziness).

I like how the story starts off, the background is pretty cool, and as long as you don't have the hero search out for the elements, it won't be cliche.

The screens are decent, nothing too special though.

Characters are good.

System is not too hot... Blending black and white is cool, but shade it more, like shade the whole thing instead of just a stripe in the middle.

Nice, I like the screenshots and story. I'm especially intrigued by your "Choose 4 Heroes Screen" very appealing work.

The mapping is actually pretty good. If you want to shock the player, add a second layer to the tree tops.

Update: Sprites/Trailer

Okay I plan to have a trailer out by August 6th, but if you want more game material I'll need some help with the sprites being that it I still can't make charasets/battlecharasets for the life of me... *and also I need to learn more...*

Update: Bad and Good news:

Okay lets do bad news 1st.

BAD:
-Theres now only 4 heroes.

GOOD:
-I'm gonna focus alot on charater devolpment.
-Each Hero will have a certain type of weapon that all have their own effects. (IE: Vincent's swords have "Always Attack First")
-There will be 100 spells/techinques in the game.
-There will be a spell fusion system (more on this later)
-And also there will be a alchemy system
-A coded DBS
-And a small CMS (to fit in the spell fusion/alchemy systems)
-Also I plan on having the demo out by the end of next month containing the spell and alchemy systems set up!

I see you are open for midi help. May I have a go at some? I can do dungeons, towns, and overworlds best. Sometimes I can make boss/battle themes, but not to often. If you could post what you need and how you would like it to sound (in terms of style e.g. slow and relaxed, fast and tense), I would be happy to try to help.  :)

Sounds quite good, the characters sound interesting BUT since you now only have 4 characters, does this mean we wont be using that awesome party chooser screen? WAAAAAAAH!

sadly you won't but each hero will have an event based skill that will be revieled later today/tomorrow cuase I'm having trouble thinking of vincent's -_-

EDIT: Okay I got it!

Vincent: Dark Beam- Deals 25% damage to the enemies, but damages Vincent for 1/10 his HP (non-lethal).

Iris: Coin Toss- Throws coins that deals 3x the number of coins used (EX: 50coins thrown x 3 = 150 damage). It also hits all enemies.

James: Dice- Throws two magical dice that have 11 differant outcomes,
1) Enemies take 500 damage
2) Party recovers 150 HP
3) Party gains "Haste" status
4) Enemies become poisoned
5) Enemies lose 25% HP (lethal)
6) Randomly Gain 1-500 Money *YAY!*
7) Party recovers all MP
8) Party recovers all HP
9) Party loses all MP
10) Defeat...
11) ALL ENEMIES TAKE 1000-100000 DAMAGE!!!!
