Title: private action
Post by: J-boy on August 01, 2005, 12:44:57 AM
i am currently playing SO3 (star ocean:till the end of time) and found a guide about private actions where if you do something, something else might happen is that like DOF (degree of friendship) where if you heal someone they'll like you and a scene will change. in short can anybody explain this to me?

p.s.
sry for abreviations.

There really isn't as much PA in SO3 than in SO2.

In SO3 when you talk to your party members in a town, depending on what you say, your relationship with that person will increase or decrease, which will ultimately affect the ending.

this thing happened to be once

//Spoilers//  _pumpkin_ (from memory)

i went to an inn and albel tired to kill me, i think that is an opitinal scene because well i dunno why. he asked me a question and i had 2 replys yes, i hate you and no,not really (i think those were the one's atleast. i chose no,not really. then later in the game i teleported to elicorn and the alien dudes were making our trade and you could see albel running in the background. then when you came back he busted the telejammer so the aliens shot him and we took him with us and he stayed with us. then i dunno much else cuz i just got peppetia.

basiclly my guess is if i did'nt stay at the inn i would'nt of got albel to go and break the telejammer thus (old english don't ask why) joining me. sry if i'm not makeing sense but i wanna know if thats an example of P.A. or just a stupid thought.

p.s.
albel is my fav character!

*character spoilers*

Yeah, there are two ways to get Albel in your party; tell him you don't hate him in that scene, or you can find him later somewhere (I can't remember where) and he will join you then, as long as you don't have 8 members already.
Or there's a scene you could do with Roger (I dunno much about it though, I never got Roger) where he will come during the scene with Biwig. If you do neither Albel's or Roger's scene, Nel will come during the scene with Biwig.

You have to go to the volcano to get him.

that's funny roger seems alittle less agile to reach the telejammer, the first scene would probably look quite different because of his raccon tail and height difference.

*off topic*
is SO2 any good? i wanna get it but personly it's way high up in price i saw a copy for 150.00 on ebay + there's sprites but i like sprites because sprite games are usally cool (megaman was a good example of that) how would the 2nd rank up with the 3rd?

I like SO2 a lot better than SO3. IMO, the story and characters are a lot better, and I like SO2's Item Creation more. But $150? Wow.

i think it was only out in japan and the u-k (europe or united kingdom or something like that either way not here) so it's very rare. i guess the stories are completey different and with whole new characters. i'd imangine a few camo's in the 3rd one.

I burned a copy of SO2 from my friend, but right before I was able to finish it, my computer crashed and I lost it.

$150 for any game is too much, its just a game. If you really want it that bad, download a psx emulator on your computer, buy a computer controller for $15, and either find someone who has the game so you can burn it, or download it from the internet.

But yeah, I liked SO2 a lot more than SO3. I thought SO3 was extremely good, but that all changed when I went through the time gate, I don't know how the ruined such a good game in 15 minutes, but they managed to do it. If only there wasn't that stupid twist...

The thing I didn't like about SO2 was that throughout the whole game, theres always a king or someone telling you exactly what to do, you never make any decisions yourself.
