Title: Which is better? RPG Maker2K or XP?
Post by: Naruto721 on August 02, 2005, 04:28:42 AM
Somebody recommended me to RPG2K, but then I noticed XP. I have 2K, but how is XP any different? Sorry if that sounded weird... Thanks! :D

Many prefer 2K and 2K3 over XP, plus due to the fact we don't support XP
Title: I would think xp

sure it may be more complex but you can always get rid of that stuff then again you can always make that stuff on 2000 well I have 2003 and i think it's the best for me I have windows 95 but I bought all of mystuff for 5 bucks total
       great deal! :=)

XP is beter then 2K, 2K3 is better then XP.

2K has front view battleing 100%, and XP has wierd battle pics that don't move.

So, is 2K3 the best one to get? Or does it all depends which one is right for you?

2k3's battle system requires more resources than 2k's, which makes it a major pain for people who have only enough artistic inclination to draw a circle. However, if you can get past this problem, 2k3's better features make it the clear winner.

so in xp they don't move at all then why did they even make it? The only rpg Ive heard of like that was pokemon :=)  and look how sucsesfull that was even though they had the childerens show for it.

XP's battle system can be manipulated by means of Ruby scripts, which are built in, but you have to know how to do it and it isn't exactly easy to learn how. That's why I prefer 2k3. Because the default battle system is good.

I suppose you could put it that way, but it's way easier just to use rm2k3's dbs than learn a programming language and tweak (and I mean do a lot of tweaking) the dbs of rmxp.

Xp has RUBY or RGSS wich is realy easy to learn (i made a sideview battle system 10 times as good as RM2k3 and i havent been doing ruby for long) Xp has amazing graphics compacity and alowes alot of different types of music

Xp also has 3 layers while 2k3 and 2k only have 2 layers Xp can place any tile from the chipset on anywhere while 2k and 2k3 can only place certain tiles on certain layers Xp has auto tiles wich are like water exetra in 2k3 just they are seprate pictures wich can be added on in XP

XPs tilesets are huge they can have up to i think infinite tiles on them (not sure iv already made a huge map and i didnt run out of space) XP has ONLINE capabilitys

in XP you can do anything and more than in 2k or 2k3 and its EASEY

XP in my opinion is far better than 2k or 2k3

If you'd like an example of XPS capabilitys play my game TRINITY SEED

people people don't say that! The front view type system xp supports is actually becoming very popular, besides if you want a side battle you can just make one from scratch, i personally think xp is much easier to use and the graphics are simply better than the other rpg makers.

THe only reason i use rpgmaker 2003 is to have access to this forum :D.

Too many reasons to list why 2k and 2k3 are better than XP.

I'm really tired of seeing posts about what's better? RPGmaker 2k, RPGMaker2k3, RPGXP, etc... I think that almost all the persons on this forums prefer RPGmaker2k/3, isn't it? I'm not trying to flame anyone, it's only my opinion. Btw, I prefer rpgmaker2k than RPGXP because it's simplier and, as far as I know, it have character, face and(even if I don't use it)battle maker and a facemaker pl, and charasEX, of course.
