Ok, so us New Yorkers are divided. Heh, this consists of New York's search within trainstations. I haven't been checked yet, so I dun mind sides I doubt they can check a minor >;3 some people have decided to stand up against this and consider it a form of racism. When police are just trying to prevent any more terror attacks like in London.

How do ya'll feel about this? I mean, would anyone be offended if this was happening in your town/city/village/whatever..? Or could it be that someones just making it into a bigger issue that's NOT needed..? Well..

People are making a big deal about it; so is the government and police. However I do beleivesome sort of security is needed.
-
I'm wit KM on this one this is a kind of security is the same thing theyre doing in the airports so if they don't comlain in the airport, wy do it on the sub?
-
Let's sue the airport! ;)

In this sense the terrorist are winning the war on terror. By going to extreme security and causing mass paranoia and uprising, the terrorist reponsible for each attack can comfortably savour the end result. I live in Australia so, at this point, I haven't been worried as for the time being I do not see us being attacked. I think they should use a more 'suttle'(sp?) apporach to security, as to make terrorist believe that they are just pests. Nevertheless, even this theory could backfire and cuause more attacks. Furthermore, the world is in an epidemic due to religious views and government views.

Some people do complain about the airport, but they're more 'understanding' why? Because there has always been security within the airport, so we're use to it. Alittle change wont bug anyone that much. But for the trains, it's different. Never has anyone felt the need to be checked on trains that they ride 'everyday' But I believe the main place they're really checking out is 42nd street, why? Because that's like the heart of the train systems. Everything is connected there, millions of people walk under and above 42nd. I must say though, the system the police use is crap. It's the same one the security guards at my school use when we get fire drills and have to come back to school. They count a certain number of people to walk by, and when they hit like the tenth person that's the one they check. What about the other nine people? What makes them so sure that their clean? Is there some kind of survey? Such crap..
-
Well they should change the scurity guards and put some more eficient ones because you don't wan't to be stuck in the 42nd wit a bomb by your side ;)

Fear of being the 10th person. Yeah, if they only have a 1/10 chance of checking you then you are pretty much golden, but what if you're the 10th? Wouldn't it suck to try to get a bomb on a train, only to be stopped and caught by a security guard? Some terrorist you'd be then. :-P
Airports use a similar system at customs. They don't have time to go through EVERYONE's bags, so they just pick people randomly and search all their stuff. The theory is that people KNOW these checks are coming, and they may even know they are random, but there is no way of being CERTAIN you will not be the person to be checked.
