As of now I'm quitting game making. I feel as if all my passion to create a game was sucked out of me I feel as if theres no point anymore. It's like If I start a game 5 minutes later I'll discover I suck get inspiration and find out again I suck. If you we're intrested in my projects I'm sorry but even if you we're you'd lose it. I can't do it..I've lost all hope. I guess you could say, I don't know how to make a game it's true. Know one has ever gave a damn to teach me and I doubt anyone ever will.
-
thats actually quite a good sounding concept, a little work should make it perfectonisnt.
ps: is this a game... or your being serious?
-
This is no game Im stating I will not make games anymore because I don't know how. It sounds like a crappy excuse but its true. And no one will ever teach me.
-
you obviously posted this cuz the point you wanna show everyone is that you want help. You want help from someone too teach you how too do a game. I cant either do my own characters, poses etc. Do i break down for that? no.. I can still make an average game and with a little thinkings i can make something different aswell. If you wanna talk you can add my msn (Check my profile).
-
Its not resources at all. And I didnt post this because I want help I simply stated I did not know how to make a game which I don't. I better stop before I get mad and ignorant. Anyway if you wanna help That would be ..ok I guess.
-
If you wanna stop, stop. There's more in life than rpgmaker, and you can certainly still be a part of charas without it.
-
Yup. You can just spend your time playing games instead of making them. Game making is not for everyone.
-
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but in game making, I never was successful at making a cliche game. There was always something pulling me away from it. I was bored of the cliche the game was. I tried to do an abstract-like game, and it kept me doing it for some time. The game is momentarily on hold, cause of some plot holes and lack of graphics, but it taught me that gamemaking is that type of work in which you must be happy with what you make and mainly have fun making your projects.
Fun is what moves you forward. And this goes for everything, not just game making.
BTW is it my imagination, or is this supposed to be in the All-of-All forum?
-
I put this here so everyone would Know I quit but Im back making it. Check Dark Legends of the world for a test of the battloe system.

Well its good to hear that you're still working on it :)
Being skilled and such will only come in time, hell, I worked with rpg maker for two years before I even learned what a switch was... Anyway, theres two things that should keep you going, first is having fun, you're not getting paid to make games, it should be something that you enjoy doing. If someone enjoys making fangames, then they should make them. Second reason for making a game, and the reason I find most compelling, is a purpose. You must have a purpose for making a game, a purpose will compell you to stick with your project, even though the tough times. My purpose in making games is to tell a story, to share whats on my mind, even if everyone would hate it, it is something I just need to let out. You should try to find a purpose of your own to keep you going.
Of course, like the others said, game making isn't for everyone, and we don't want to push you to do something that you don't want to do.

Im making this so I can bring others joy.

I salute you senor pythis. I constantly give up, but I've got one game that keeps me going back "The Pops: Quest for the Brunswick Stew." If you get one game you just like making, then always keep it around.

yeah there was alot of times i gave up gamemaking... too much time....
some other crap... but i somehow got back into it...somehow.

I made a lot of game with rm2k and 2k3, but I've never finished them because :
1- My computer always finished with a Virus cause of my brother, and had to be formatted.
2- My imagination was missing, and I had no more ideas...
3- I was just bored of making them.
But I'm still trying to make a game. I want to finish that one. I didn't do a lot of thing, but I have more ideas, so I wan't to finish it. Well...I did finish one, but it was short...really short...and I mean it. Short. And it sucked... But wathever...

Don't take it personally, but if you're going to just give up and act like a loser then you deserve to be treated like one.
