Title: General Kung Fu Hustle
Post by: kodakumi on August 26, 2005, 03:58:53 AM
this is the most amazing kung fu/fantasy/comedy/drama i have seen in a long time.

i liked the story till in the last scenes they started throwing in things in that happened that very moment.

most of the characters played there role perfectly (that emotional cat scene).

splendid comedical scenes (chasing scene hahaha!) that never went to far with there humour or spanned it out for so long that it just wasnt funny anymore (*cough* wedding crashers).

nice mix of villians/enemies including a gang boss, two awesome assasins (wont tell you how they fight) and i suppose the main characters are enemies of eachother.

inspiring action/spellcasting scenes that were made perfectly, just the right amount of gravity defying and alot (i stress ALOT!!) of slow motion and camera roating feats executed by a dude, fatwoman, fatwomans husband, the two assassin bros, old guy who comes in at the end, a coolie, a "fairy" (faugiot), a hair dresser and a noodle and coongee maker.

if you look away from all of the comedical acts performed in this movie you will see a story of drama and emotion, the main character being afflicted by visions of his past, and people dieing throughout the cinimatic epic.

this movie will live with me for awhile.

what are your peoples thoughts about the movie.

ps: feel free to start a topic relating to the movie.

Saw it about a week ago, loved it. Right amount of humor per scene.

If you havn't checked out Ong Bak, look at it. I loved that moive. No digital effects or any of that other junk. The plot is way off...but still a good figthing movie.

Saw it a couple of months ago, Chinese release date. Indeed, one of the best kung-fu movies ever. Alongside with Kung-Pow of course.

Betteh is one of the best villians ever!

" I have been called bad before. Many have said I do things that are not correct to do. I don't believe in talk such as this. I am nice man, with happy feelings. All of the time. First, a joke. What do you get when you cross an owl with a bungee chord? My ***. Nyah, haha, haha, haha, ENOUGH."

Master Tang: I know you seek The Chosen One. And I know what you did to his family. *begins coughing*
Master Tang: And now, I'm going to beat you up.
Master Betty: Do you need a glass of water, or something? Geez, at least cover your mouth. We're all going to catch it.

Kung Pow really pissed me off, as a lover of kung fu movies. I have Kung Fu hustle, but I don't feel like watching it. Has and seen Shaolin Soccer, Stephen Chow is that one too

I'll see it once its on DVD, around here. At least I think its the same movie I'm thinking, one of the crappy things about Brazil is that they aways change completely the name of the movies, around here they called the movie "Kung-Fu-São" (Kung-Fui-sion... you get it? "Confusion", Kung-fu-sion?! yeah, I didn't like it either *shrugs*)
