Title: Wondering
Post by: MammonMachine on September 03, 2005, 01:47:23 PM
How long do most people here stay interested in their own game? It seems that Charas people are afraid of commitment, since I've seen people drop or start new projects all the damn time.

It's really not a good idea to be making 2 or 3 games at the same time.

It's all about fun, not completing the game.  If someone quits a game, it's because it's no longer fun, and they want to try something new.  At least, that's me anyway.  Some people keep coming up with new ideas so rapidly, and can't fit them into their current game, start a new one with these idea's, and pretty much ditch their old one.  Again, me.

I find that most people drop games because of lack of support.

Like, for example, my ABS Pact hasn't recieved many posts that were from some1 other then me in quite awhile. Many people would think then that their game was crap because no one wanted to look at it, and thus start anew. But, I know that once I get a demo out people will be drooling over it, so yeah. Lack of support is the most likly reason.

People usually quit doing their game for the following:

-No ressources, too lazy to learn to sprite
-Way over their heads, too many custom(CMS, CBS and so on)
-The people say their game sucks so they stop
-Lost of interests
-Complaining/Crying/Whining that they dont get help
