Cancer is also another worry with some people, as far as we know though, the signals are way too weak to cause any damage, but now a days almost anything can cause cancer.

Frootloops'll give ya cancer. Yeah, I knew this guy who had some, 2 weeks later, BAM! Cancer.
You know what would really suck, if someone hacked your ps9 and you get spam beamed into your brain.

It seems like eventually it'll end up like in Minority Report where you'll get followed around with incessant ads whenever you walk into a mall.

Of course, if Microsoft, Google and McDonalds joined forces, we'd all be screwed.

Meh, even if it gets made it'll be 1000+ dollars. And the possability of it actually working is very low. And even so, many of us are not willing to give up a screen and controller.
Plus the quality of the images is neglible. They may even be crappy, and how do you take screenshots of somthing that is in your head!?
Possabilities are that it may be a hoax.
Possabilities are that it may be a hoax.

What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.
Well its not a hoax, its been posted at many trusted news sites such as cnn.com. Its only in the idea stage though of production though.
Anyway, I'm all for this

I must say, Darkfox, you're quite the pessemistic naysayer when it comes to the future, aren't you? LIEZKOMG YOU CANT DENY IT.
It's funny what rumors a commercial can create.
We’re not going to read too much into it right now (namely because there are a lot of patents out there that have no true correlation to reality) but a Sony researcher by the name of Thomas Dawson filed patent on Sony’s behalf for a “transcranial magnetic stimulation” device that would beam sensory input to a person’s brain via ultrasonic pulses. Sony was quick to note that no experiments had been conducted with the technology—so it’s not much more than theory right now. Thanks, Sony, for making us wonder if we’re all really just brains in jars in Sir Howard Stringer’s office compound.

Because I know better. Yup... future will be as it is now, forget stupid console fantasies, your wasting time and energy on somthing that is not yet tested, and ones like this are just for publicity. Heck, they've been pulling this one for years now. And it's still a dumb idea any which way you look at it, magnetism? Ultrasonic waves? What the heck? *sighs* If you want to go around with 20-50lbs of equiptment on your head and have neck aches the rest of your lives be my guest.

Whats so differant from a tv projecting light into your eyes that you interperate as images, or waves being projected into your brain to be interperated as images. First they had the radio, then they had the tv, next they may come out with this. I completely understand people not wanting to use it, but you're making it sound like it's evil. It'll be no worse than a TV.

Ok, guys this is not a hoax, its been confirmed by sony. CNN, NBC, ect, aren't going to post up a news story without confirming its accuracy first.

CNN, NBC, ect, would readily post up a news story without confirming its accuracy first so as to get an exclusive story or the ability to claim that they reported it first.

That doesn't matter now. All that matters now is that IT'S STILL COLD!
Do you watch the news? About a year ago, CBS go into some crap because Dan Rather rushed a stroy about Bush's military service to air without confirming the story.
In case your out of touch, the evidence turned out to be forged, and Dan Rather resigned from CBS.
Aw man, you'll have to lie like a Log while watching the char walking around. . . No fun
Personally I'd rather be doing something than pushing a button and watching some dots on a flat screen do something. I've gone snowmobiling before, and its pretty fun, I've also played a snowmobiling game, and its just nothing compared to the real thing.
By lying around isn't really doing anything other than well... laying down or sitting, thus your doing nothing nor is your body, thus making that statement irrelevent.
Edit: At least with a controller your working your thumb muscles.
Well, I wouldn't try that because i have a feeling that prolonged exposure will cause de-wrinkling in the brain: A process that happens slolwy and causes gradual loss of thinking capacity. And I'm practically rock bottom as it is! I don't wanna risk a prediction that I just made up with no founding forms of proof!! HELP ME!!!! WAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!
