Title: Gate of HöllencWelt
Post by: Hell Angel on September 10, 2005, 08:46:13 AM
Hey, here's the the story line of my game. I will post character profiles later on, and screenshots even later on. The story line is still being thought over, so it will most likely change.

There exsists three 'ages' through out the known history of Enernantia (Based land of the game.) Dawn of Übel (German for evil), Birth of Dragon, and the Age of Man (Typical, I know.)

In the start of the Dawn of Übel, the realm field that seperated the Godly from the Demonic was opened for a brief moment allowing the opener, a high mage named Maniel, to cross over from the Dark realm to the Light realm.

He discovered the strange ways of the 'Good,' and he wanted to destroy it and harnest the power and turn it to pure evil. He knew he could not do it alone, so he went back to his own realm with wicked plans in mind.

When he returned to the land of Übel, he told the world about his strange sightings. Then, the dark people began to build. They built for centuries, an enormous gate. A Gate of HöllencWelt (Which means Hell Land/World in german.) Then Maniel and twelve other High Mages joined together to ,at once, concentrate all of their power upon the Gate to attemp a permanent gateway to and from each realms.

Their attemp was a complete sucsess. So, from then on until the near-end of the Dawn of Übel, the demons raged and destroyed between the two realms. Civilians of the Heilig also used the gate to escape from the horrible demons.

Then, the event that completely finished the Dawn was this: Thirteen Essence Titans of equal power to each evil High Mage were created to seal the power to each individual Mage, killing the mages and sealing the gate completely.

The real story takes place in the Age of Man. You play a young mage/ soldier/ archer (your choice ^_^) who's just learning to fight, Your name is Willow. But, fighting is now the most important skill for the everyday person over the age of twelve- Because, even thought the gate is sealed, there are still many demons roming the wilderness.

In these rough times exsists guardians who have been individually chosen by the Titans, who go to the gate monthly to kill roaming demons near it, and make sure things are okay.

And Willow happens to personally know the Guardian of Fire, Laurin. He teaches you to fight and what not.

Well, more will be told later if interest is picked up.

In the game, I am only using First Seed Material/ REFMAP/ Mack (What ever of the three you would like to say-) Resources. Which means limited resources, but I will customise alot of the resources to my desire, so you will only really be able to tell that the style is Mack based.

Since alot of the names of certain things are not all that great, I'm very open to suggestions.

- Thank you

Thank you, I've tried my best to come up with something quite original, but that's hard these days.

I like the German touch to it. I took a year of German and loved it. I only don't take it now because my school doesn't offer it. Cool idea - good luck with this!

Just another 'great beasts have been sealed' game. The main problem will, probably, be some psycho wanting to unleash the mages on the world and/or open the gate to re-create the era where Demons could kill at will. Since good always prevail, the hero will succeed at either destroying the mages and sealing the gate or prevent it from happening.

Not saying it sucks, it's just predictable...like all games with sealed creatures. If that's not the case then go ahead and try to surprise me.

Heh, no. In fact the problem doesn't involve the gate re-opening at all.

Love it. Maybe a teeny bit cliched with the "{insert number} of {insert noun}s" thing... speaking of the mages.

But I enjoyed the story, and it actually sets a good foundation for the battles, unlike a lot of games where monsters just exist with no real explanation (a small annoyance, but good to see fixed). I look forward to see where this game goes.

I do see how parts may be 'cliche,' but as i said before: I will change it little by little to make it better.

The games where monsters apear for no reason, what so ever, are games that confuse the hell out me. =P

Thank you, AsakuraHao.

One of the rare game that explains why there are monsters roaming the land. Only saw that in FFX...and in this game.

*Thinks...*  Xenosaga explained where the monsters came from. Except for some of the bossses: You'de be running down a hall and for some reason there's a giant robot sitting there ready to kill you. Though Xenosaga is hardly considered an RPG, except the fighting system.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time explained the occurance of the monsters as well, though it was vague, it was still explained.

Thats all I can think of, so I'm glad to be elaborate.

FFIX: The mist creates cretures and if you remember when you dispelled the mist there were no field monsters.

Everything sounds good, but the name Vanguard doesn't exactly sound like something someone would be called. Vanguard I do believe is a noun meaning military equiptment or something like that, so it would suit a fighters name, but I just don't like it.

And, by far, the most explained monster thing had to be .Hack, because It was based on a online game where all you did is kill monsters.

Vanguard, in my book, is the title of a general that protects the 'van' of an army. See 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms is Chinese, so they could have a differnet meaning here in America, slim chance though.

It's not nessecarilry a General, just any ranking officer that protects a shipment of military cargo, be it weapons/rations/men/etc.

Just to cut the discussion short:

Van Guard: The foremost position in an army or fleet advancing into battle.

Owned...

I will think of a new name. I was aware of the military defininition of the words Van Guard, and the small difference between the word; Van Guard and his name; Vanguard, but I just really liked the name. I will change it soon.

-Thanks.

Edit- I have changed the name of the 'hero' to Enoch (Pronounced Eenock) from Vanguard. If Enoch seems to fit incorrectly aswell, then just say (type >_< ) the word(s) and I'll re-re-think his name.

I am now looking for a person willing to be my Midi-Maker. Of course I will repay you in an equal (Or greater) fashion. Whether I repay you with graphics or something else you'de have in mind, It's all up to you.

I understand that I'm a brand new member and asking for such things needs to be backed up by respect, which I'm sure I have none of yet. But, I will do near anything for you in return.

And- I got bored so I decided to post more of the story:

Every month the guardians meet in a chaple north of the Gate. From there they head south and cleanse the area near and around the gate. They then go through the gate and kill all the on-coming demons near and around the gate on the other side. Any demons attempting to pass are ussually mear weaklings, but a demon is a demon, no matter how weak or strong. Each expedition (To the chaple, to the other side, and back home.) Takes an average of one week, traveling fast, for Laurin.

Willow and Laurin work for an old wizard named Salious. Salious runs the town library and is also a teacher of Begining Dark Arts (So no matter what class you decide to become, you will know basic offensive magic.) And, the town in which said library exsists is called Whetstone (Still undecided.) Whetstone is a small, yet popular, town that is far north-east away from the Gate. Now, the reason this town is so popular is the fact that the Gaurdian of Fire (Laurin) lives here.

There are thirteen Guardians (as I said before- There were Thirteen Titans made for the Thirteen Mages. And each gaurdian is selected by the corresponding element of Titan). Each one has been given an elemental power given by the Titans. They are listed in alphabetical order:

-Bone-
-Dark (Yes. Fight darkness with darkness.)-
-Earth-
-Fire-
-Holy-
-Life-
-Reflection-
-Shadow-
-Soul-
-Speed-
-Storm-
-Water-
-Wind-

Like everything else; these are still possibly temporary.

Please post what you think. If you have a question or want to help me out with my Midis add me on msn messenger at XHell_AngelX@hotmail.com

-Thank you.

Meh. Enoch is ok. Sounds more like the name of a wizard then a fighter, but it works. Better then Vangard in my opinion.

hmmm, picky isn't the right word. Ummm, let's use the word Critical. Yes, I'm very critical. I tend to focus on the bad parts of things, or the areas that need improvement.

Title:

Alright, alright. I'll re-rename him, then. I must just have a bad concept of names. =P
Title:
Post by: Meiscool-2 on September 11, 2005, 11:17:28 PM
Try not naming them after anything, and not naming them something weird either.

Try names that arn't used much, like Von, Terrence, Tristan, Dane, Victor, Marth, Jed, Edgar, Edward, Felix, Garet, Ivan (Ivan seems to be used alot on this board, but not in games), Issac, Sirus, etc.

Post by: Archem on September 11, 2005, 11:44:56 PM
What about Archem? (BTW, my name IS a reference to something, I just didn't know it at the time i made it up. And it's pronounced ark-em. Type it into a program that pronounces words if you don't believe me. I'm sick of people mispronouncing my name. Opps. This is a bit of an off-topic rant now isn't it?)
Title:
Post by: Meiscool-2 on September 11, 2005, 11:48:12 PM
I'm pretty sure Archem It's a real name, or if it is, it's most likly one of those corny 'my parents tried to be original and look what happened' archie kinda things.

And, also, If you're name is in fact Archem, my apoligizes.
Title:
Post by: AsakuraHao2004 on September 11, 2005, 11:51:16 PM
Heh

Well, there's always name generators if worse comes to worse... I personally dispise them, as I like coming up with original stuff, but if it works for you then go for it.

Serin? Zales? Matthias (Maybe Matt for short)? Any of those any good?
Title:
Post by: Meiscool-2 on September 12, 2005, 12:18:04 AM
Serin? how do you pronoun that? Sar-in?

Zales is the name of a diamond store.... so yeah

Mathias is always a good name for a hero. It's been done alot, but it's a good name never the less.
Title:

"Serin? how do you pronoun that? Sar-in?"
Reply: No, 'Sare-in.'

"Zales is the name of a diamond store.... so yeah"
Reply: Ah yes, totally forgot about that. I still like 'Zales' though.

"Mathias is always a good name for a hero. It's been done alot, but it's a good name never the less."
Reply: Hm, I am looking for originallity, so maybe not.
Title:
Post by: AsakuraHao2004 on September 12, 2005, 12:35:44 AM
Maybe more like Matthew Joseph Adrasteia or something.
Title:
Post by: Meiscool-2 on September 12, 2005, 12:50:06 AM
When looking for orignal names, I always like to combin names that I like and see what happens.

Example: Arial + Merisa = Marel.
Example: Clair + Terence = Clarence.
Example: Tristan + Christaphor = Christan

Etc.

Give it a try.

Once again the extreme boredom has struck, Besides I promised this for today anyway. The following are character's (And not just the hero's) name and information.

I will list their full name, age, class of battle, whether they are offensive or defensive, weapon style, element, personality traits, origin, wether they are a hero, villan, or nuetral, and a scale from 1-10 on how important and how often they are seen (10 being every second of the game, 1 being never).

Once again, nothing said here is final.

First off:

Name: Willow Steltnein
-
Age:14 (Typical, the heros young. So what?)
-
Class:Players decision between Soldier, Ranger, and Magician.
-
Protection Style: Offensive
-
Weapon:Soldier- Swords an shields, Ranger- Bows and Knifes, Magician- Staffs and Spells.
-
Element(s): He knows basics in Wind, Water, Fire, and Earth.
-
Personality: Poor, but he feels rich. Avoids the negatives in things, and always lies to make the victim feel better. Very persuadable in the beginning, but changes later in time.
-
Origin: Best friends with one of the most famous people in the world. He lives together with Laurin and his father in a small, poor town named Whetstone. Mother died at birth. Many of his friends take advantage of him, because he will do anything he's told. He has been training to fight since he was 12, and being friends with a Guardian only helps. He works as a scriber at the town wizard's, Salious's, library.
-
Story stance: Hero. Main hero of the game.
-
Story Importance: 10
Seen in story: 9 (You'll see why later.)
-

-

-
Name: Laurin (The guardians are robbed of all individualities when elected by the Titans except their first name, so he has no last name.)
-
Age: 16
-
Class: Guardian of Fire
-
Protection Style: Offensive
-
Weapon: Claws and Hand attachments
-
Element(s): Fire
-
Personality: He acts like Willow's older brother. He is protective and stands for what he loves. He would die in the hands of the demons to save his land. He is loving and strong, silent and smart. He is not a peron you want to run into if you're a demon.
-
Origin: At age 12 when he was chosen by the Titan of fire to be the new gaurdian. He was completely cleaned of his memory, and he was released into the Whetstone forest, stumbled into town, and ever since he's lived with Willow. Given the title of gaurdian, he had two years to train before he went to fight monthly. He seeks his lost memeory in hope to find his parents, his old home, and what ever friends he may have had.
-
Story stance: Hero
-
Story Importance: 10+
Seen in story: 6
-

-

-
Name: Maniel Cruxnaah
-
Age: Believed to be Deceased
-
Class: High Dark Mage
-
Protection Style: Defensive
-
Weapon: Summoning, Alteration and Creation spells
-
Element(s): He has the power of All.
-
Personality: He was always in a blank stare. Always thinking. He was by far the smartest being who ever lived, yet he used the smarts for evil.
-
Origin: Being the Übel's discoverer of Heilig he is the most loved soul of the demons. Their god almost. Like Nazis are to Hitler. He was one of the most powerful Mages to ever walk the earth. He built a wall along with the other High Mages that could bend evil into good, and send any Übel to the land of Heilig
-
Story stance: Villan
-
Story Importance: 9
Seen in story: 3
-

-

-
Name: Malince' (Mal- inss-a) Cruxnaah
-
Age: 15
-
Class: Alchemy Mage
-
Protection Style: Defensive
-
Weapon: Alchemy tools, Staffs
-
Element(s): Dark and Light
-
Personality: Though her ansester is the reason the demons roam Heilig, she is outgoing and a demon fighter. She herself is full-blooded demon, yet she feels guilty for being Maniel's great great etc. grand daughter.
-
Origin: When Maniel created the gate his wife took the son to start a new life in Heilig. The mother and child were hardly accepted though. As time progressed each Chaptered page of the Cruxnaahs history got older and older with the boy growing, marrying, having kids, the kids growing, etc. Finally Malince' was born. She was said to hold the power of Maniel but she refused to even use it, for she would rather kill the demons that raged then summon more. So she now lives in her bag travelling variously killing demons and keeping them out of Heilig.
-
Story stance: Hero
-
Story Importance: 7
Seen in story:7
-

-

-
Name: Bomma (True name revealed in game)
-
Age: ???
-
Class: A... Giant man that... Hits stuff
-
Protection Style: Offensive
-
Weapon: The giant trunks attached to his shoulders (His fists)
-
Element(s): None
-
Personality: Gentle giant some might call him. He is eight feet tall, has huge ripped muscles, yet he wouldn't harm a fly- Unless that fly hurt his friends, which he has none of (yet). He hates to see people being hurt, so if he see's some bullies picking on a kid, they will soon see the ground face-to-face.
-
Origin: All that is known is that he was abandoned and no one in his town likes him.
-
Story stance: Hero/Nuetral
-
Story Importance: 4
Seen in story: 5

Well this ought to give you something to read for now. Please post what you think, and if any characters that you didn't like, or that you did like. Remember I'm still looking for a MIDI Maker. I will post more character's information, because this isn't even close to it. Heh.
