Title: HGTTG
Post by: CoolZidane on October 16, 2005, 09:32:57 AM
I am a very bored person. So, I've decided to make an "RPG" of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I made sure to but ""'s around RPG so I could clarify that it is much less an RPG as it is an interactive telling of the first two books. (Hitchhiker's Guide and Restaurant at the End of the Universe)

Since this is not going to be professional by any means, I will not be composing my music for the game. Rather, I will use various MIDI's from other games and that jazz. There will be one MP3, "Journey of the Sorcerer," from the soundtrack. It's a great way to pay true homage to HGTTG.

Anyways, this is probably a very dumb idea, but I'm going to do it anyway. It's a good way to pass some time. I've got a lot of time, and I don't know what else to do with it, so I'm working on this.

Thats an interesting idea.  So is it gonna be an adventure or hack and slash rpg?

There's very little in the way of battling. The few battles there are are essentially going to be focused around the story, i.e. no random battles.

Fights I have planned:
Z, A, F, and T vs. Thugs and Mice
Marvin vs. Battle Tank (not much of a fight, though)
Zaphod vs. Zarniwoop

None of the fights are really much of fights. They're more of just a way of getting the story across.

EDIT:
So, it's not really an adventure (well, maybe) nor is it a hack and slash.

Thats what i was hoping for, random battles ruin some games.  Most of the time in games with good storys, i try to avoid battles if possible, which can only screw you later.

Sounds interesting, though I've never read or seen the movie of HGTTG. Good luck!
