*sigh*
Yes, I DO happen to know what its like, and I STILL find it a stupid reason.

Try knowing a bit about me before assuming that I don't know what it's like.

You can't really, without medication. Depression is a chemical imbalance.
I'm guessing this guy is misusing the word depression, as most jackass losers do; he needs to get over his 'being a pussy' morre than anything.
Title:
Post by: Razor on November 20, 2005, 10:43:07 PM
I know - I am so sick of that. But for the sake of being nice.
Now, I've had two friends who've actually had depression, and one emo friend who would just say he would so he could dress up like a poser goth.
But hey, who knows with Ian? It could be the real thing.
Title:
Post by: Leon_1990 on November 20, 2005, 10:51:21 PM
It doesnt matter if its the real thing...

You would think that charas would help with depression.
Title:
Post by: Razor on November 21, 2005, 12:49:19 AM
Well, it probably doesn't help that a large amount of people have left due to 'depression'.
Title:

If people want to talk through their problems on Charas that's fine, but if someone's saying that they're leaving, not much we can do for them.

Yeah I think he did, but he now realizes how bitchy it was. HIGH FIVE!

But Asta la Toaster, and a gift:

Steps to cure depression, the ZKX way:
1. Go down to corner
2. Buy big bag of unknown pills
3. Get a very big rock
4. Throw rock at penguin
5. Throw pills away
6. Cry at your wasted $100 on pills
7. Hit more penguins with a big rock
8. Club a panda with what some may call, a "ladle"
9. Repeat steps 7-8 as many times as needed

If said procedure doesn't work, eat some form of small forest pixie, preferable the one known as "Tinkerbell". But do not, I repeat, DO NOT eat those known as "Navi", "Tatl", or "Tale". They WILL give one hourrendous gas, especially in formal meetings of the rich estates.

Ian said the reason he is depressed is because..........
"Yesterday at school me and a couple of friends were playing around, when i spat on the window at school, i got suspended now my parents won't speak to me..."

And he said he might be back

Depression is technically a medical condition, caused by a chemical imbalance or mental disorder. True depression is NOT caused by a situation. There is a difference between Depression and Sadness.

I've been depressed. And so have many other members here. And a lot of the time, there is no "single reason" for depression. There may not even be any reason. And, just for those people who think that it's always sadness and not depression, there are physical and emotional symptoms.

Signs of Depression

 - Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood
 - Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism
 - Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness
 - Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed
 - Decreased energy, fatigue, being "slowed down"
 - Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions
 - Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping
 - Appetite and/or weight loss or overeating and weight gain
 - Thoughts of death or suicide; suicide attempts
 - Restlessness, irritability
 - Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain.

That's not depression. That's sadness and guilt.

Dragonium, you just owned basically [GLOW]EVERY[/GLOW] emo that's ever left Charas. That's one hell of an accomplishment!

Although now every emo on Charas will become a hypocondriact (sp sp sp sp sp sp sp!!) and think they have all of those. We just can't win.
Title:
Post by: Leon_1990 on November 21, 2005, 08:59:22 PM
dont worry....I'll just make up a disease that kills hypochondriacs (sp?)

HYPOCHONRDILLITIS!
caused by swelling of the "omfg! I am sick!" gland.
causes the brain to umm....die.

Shwing!

Besides, it's not Emo that's the problem. It's those guys who try to be Goths, but they can't, so they pretend to be depressed until someone accepts them. This is not Emo.

Somehow, that reminds me of my Doctor. Which probably isn't a good thing.

Besides, my family Doctor is called Dr. Butcher, so that explains a lot.

Dragonium, we call those guys "Posers" and on the ladder, they are as low as false emos.

I dunno, people respect Ian. I don't know about Ian's game, or if he even has one, but Lan whined about everything and thought we'd all love his crappy game. He couldn't handle creative criticism.

Um... wow. Suspended for spitting on a window. o_O What a lazy and boring way to punish someone. If someone did that at my school (and got caught) the person who caught them would give them a rag and some soap and then just tell them to clean it up.... along with every other window in the building. And there's probably over 150 windows in my school.

Meiscool, you don't exact have a track record yourself, so I wouldn't be pointing out who has a soul and who doesn't right now.

yeah, i know exactly what its like. I dont go bitching about it. I jumped to a conclusion that he was using the correct definition of "depressed," and if that were the situation, I would stand by what I said, but as it is i was mistaken.

....*Cough*...I understand alot more about depression than you do man..honestly =/. I have attempted suicide before >>;. Not that it was the smart thing to do, but I wont show sympathy because you are "depressed." And I ask for none in return. Half the people who claim they're depressed are living a life others WISH they had. Yet the other people are happy anyway. And if you actually have a reason to be depressed, I would still have the no sympathy thing going. We all have our demons, its how we deal with them that matters. Excuse me for my harsh beliefs.

More than once have I had to mention to some emo that they've got a family and food eveyday, television, internet etc etc where a lot of people have none of that.

Locked.
