Is there already a game called Legend? I know 'bout Legend of Zelda, but Legend? Anyways, I'm using RPG Maker 2000 to make this one, so don't expect too much of it. It's still in the making, but I'm gonna put a demo on here soon. Please test it and tell me of any defects or mistakes.
Thanks

Plot, character's, bios, screens, anything would be nice.
-
Ok. Here's a makeshift demo. Tell me what you think. Don't expect too much of it. You can visit the website for this game here (http://tinyurl.com/9jgur). (this is an old version of the demo, the new version is below)

Here are some screenshots:

look s wonderfull.. the maps look nice and the title look good 2..^^ im gonna Dload the demo now....
-
Eh; it's acceptable. That about it. I've definetley seen worse, but this is.... just Ok... Use the pen tool more and try and use sense in your mapping; don't make impassable logs and stumps a person could just jump over, and use the rectangle tool less.
-
Wow... So overly judgemental... I thought it look-ed aprettypretty good... But, yeah... A little bland at parts... I think I shall try the demo and see if it be any good...
-
Graphics and map making isn't top, but it still looks quite decent.
-
Fair. The screens are better than I expected.
-
By the way, after this game, I'm gonna make Legend 2, which I will make with RPG Maker 2003. That's one of the reasons why I'm not putting too much effort into making this first game totally perfect: So that people will want an upgrade and try out the second one.
-
Both of the setup files so don't work!
-

Here's an updated demo (note: you might have to delete all old files for this to be updated). Make sure you also download the file in the next post into the same file.
-
Ok, Bluhman, I've figured it out. You also need this file in the same folder as the previous one:
-
Only thing I have to really say is that you shouldn't use that Barret face, pretty much everyone recognizes it from FF7, so you should probably find a differant one.
Your game looks ok right now, it looks like your still improving on your rpg maker skills though, which isn't a bad thing :) . I'll bet the maps and such will continue to look better and better as you work on the game.
-
Longbow...ouch...the demise Sir Wallace's Military career.
Decent screens, but nothing special I'm afraid. Just like DB said, you need to get rid of the barret face.
-
I have never played any FF games, so please tell me what "the barret face" is.

I have never played any FF games, so please tell me what "the barret face" is.
Its the black man who says "the furnaces are all out of wood".
-
Is anyone good at making Facesets? Can you please make me a face to replace the barret face?

Did you download both files into the same folder?
-
Just a word of advice, you may want to edit your first post to cantain all bios, stories, etc.
-
Thanks, ZeroKirbyX, I'll do that.
-
i think the mapping look really relistic if u look at the other mappers here <.<.... characters are ok and so on... but the demo wont work :P
-
Did you download both files into the same folder?
Here they are:
setup.exe (http://charas-project.net/forum/download_file.php?id=19193)
setup.ini (http://charas-project.net/forum/download_file.php?id=19195)
-
Downloading both files into the same folder didn't work for me. It might be better if you just zip the game directory and host it on www.rapidshare.de
-
Fine, here it is:
Legend Demo (http://rapidshare.de/files/8171408/Legend.lzh.html)
-
This...
Is...
Ridiculous.
First question: WHY THE HECK DO YOU SLOW DOWN WHENEVER YOU EXIT A BUILDING!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Why you did this is just baffling. You crawl around at an insanley slow pace after you exit and enter about 2 or 3 buildings.
Second: The dialogue is just silly.
"Good morning..."
"Let's go!"
"Great. You're all set.....
We'll miss you...
Valeo
and Aquilus."
So yeah. Tons of unneccesary pauses.
3: Difficulty.
Yeah. You have NO idea where you're supposed to go in the beginning. No direction. I ended up on the world map, fighting slimes, barley managing to get by thanks to the tragic lack of any sort of weapon or armor. After a look in the game, I discovered I was supposed to go into a woods that I didn't know existed and get some logs for a blacksmith whose stores walls are lined with stoves with teapots on top, and looks suspiciously like FF7 barret. (And then transformed into Zappa from Chrono cross... THE EFF to the KAY!?)
So... yeah. You're game isn't that good. The mapping was more impressive than I first thought it to be, but the game is not good.
-
To answer the slow pace question, in order to make the landscape seem larger, I made the movement slower. But I can remove that if you wish.
-
As for the whole forest and log no clue thing, I'm working on it.
-
It won't let me play it. I guess it's because I don't have the RM2K RTP.
-
This game looks and sounds really good, when do you think you'll finish it.
-
Thanks, DanielTownsend, im planning to be finished with the first Legend game sometime next summer ('06). Then, I'll make a sequel using RPG Maker 2003.
-
Havent downloaded it yet......
Are you Happy with The RTP facesets? Are you planning on getting some custom art thrown in there?
I will download it when my limewire isnt so loaded
-
Glad you mentioned it, gemini, I actually need a faceset for a blacksmith. If you can supply that plus any other custom graphics, I'll be sure to give you credit.
-
Legend Demo 1.1 should be ready soon...as soon as i can get a replacement for that barrett face!!!
-
Oh, no problem crossy! Let me make you one!
-
'Ere you go!
-
Thank you Bluhman! Ok the latest demo is out. I'm expecting the next one to come out sometime next week. I have improved my mapping skills by a ton!!! It's not just updated from last time, it lets you go further into the game! Replies would be nice...
-
Well, there's notm uch to reply on. Maybe some screenshots of your improved maps? Or just screenshots of anything from your new demo would be nice.
-
What he said.
And.... quit deleted your last post then reposting the exact same thing just to kick or bump your game. If people don't post on it, that means they don't like it, and you kicking it isn't going to change that fact. Now, if you post new info or something, that's a different thing...... but not copying a post, deleting it, and then reposting the same crap.
-
Fine, some progress on the game can be found at http://valituruscross.theicy.net . Just follow the links near the top.
