This one is currently in a very early stage of production, but it's sounding like a good idea while I'm repeating it in my head. And no, I'm not drunk. Or at least less drunk than normal.
-The starting portion dealy of the story-
Riot wakes up in a coffin, and looks around. His coffin is in the centre of a very fancy area of an ancient graveyard, about 15 feet above the rest of it. He escapes the graveyard by finding a [Shining Key], and walks along a bridge to the top of a gigantic grassy hill. I guess the word for that is mountain. He steps onto a ledge and sees a desolate barren valley with no villages, town, cities... um, shacks.. no evidence of wildlife, either. All he can remember is his name. That's right. An amnesiac. After a few seconds, a bright blue light appears, and two metal head time banditos appear in front of him. "AHH! TIME BANDITOS!"
'Hey dude we're here to recruit you! For our totally kickass band!'
'YEAHHHGHHHHFHJCOUGHYEAHHHHH!'
Riot is confused.
'Oh, he doesn't understand English, Pertu.'
'SH****************************TT, dog!'
'Well grab him and we'll take him back to the year we came from. You know the one.... You know.'
'ROCK OOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!'
Time bandito Pavo grabs Riot and sticks his hand on the time machine, and they travel to the year 2005, in NYC.
-What it's all about-
Riot, Pertu, and Pavo have to become famous. Riot doesn't actually care, but now he is the lead guitarist/singer of the heavy metal band 'More Than Muffins'.
-Features-
-Unlockable Costumes for all 3 bandmates.
-Use 'Applause Points' to buy different pedals, which have all sorts of awesome effects(like a laser that shoots the audience in the eyes until they are blind)
-Choose many different guitars
-Upgradable guitar which can have different effects on the audience(x2 sound damage, headshot chance upgrade)
-Skills, such as Ambience(gradual damage on entire audience), and Shred(splash damage, entire front row is paralyzed)
-Stage Moves that add multipliers to Applause Points
-Groupies!
-Trash dressing rooms!
and more
Screenshots to come..

I like man......It reminds me Of "The queen of the Damned" Meets "Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure"
If you need myservices, Id be glad to lend a hand for animations and Cutscene art
-
The story will be kind of... reverse Lost.
The main characters past is much more mystical than his present.
I mean, his present is totally kickass while his past is moretypical RPG storyline stuff.
-
Well... it does sound different. However, the features make's it seem like he's trying to kill his customers >_<
-
I like this. It's strange, but it's usually the strange ones that ppl remember.
-
I just need a stage chipset/panorama.. :/
If I get the basic gig system going I might add stage props, like when you jump on the giant gargoyle, it breathes fire across the audience. Also relics, like in Castlevania, would be cool.
You aren't trying to 'kill' the audience.. you're trying to melt their faces.
-
different but that's good because similar games get boring too quickly
-

A practice session. The cursor is being a bitch to figure out, it's like, arrow keys to move the character, and - + keys to move the cursor.
-
Why can't you use the arrow keys, does it still move the hero? All you gotta do for that is put on a hero wait repeat or a halt all movement thingie.
-
No, I want you to be able to move the hero, so you can aim at different fans, and interact with the scenery, like high-fiving R Kelly. It's just lagging when I try to move the character and the cursor at the same time.
EDIT: Never mind, I'll just have the menu toggleyed, where the hero can't move.
-
Okay, I changed up the menu system.
I only have one minor glitch in the menu, when you toggle the menu, you can't select the first selection until you move the cursor and move it back.
This is the spitting blood stage move..
It starts a mosh in the centre of the audience, which deals random damage for 30 seconds.
-
It's unlike anything I would even think of. Looks really good! Good luck with this! :)
-
Here's a stage prop, giant gargoyle statues.
It makes the fans hit by it mosh, and does major damage to them, and you have to wait for it to fill back up with kerosene.
There's quite a few variables involved, but I can use them all more than once..
Well, I got a lot done today, I hope to get started on the soloing system tomorrow, I'm hoping I can get the solos to be like a fast paced DDR thing that lasts for 10 seconds.
-
ah, the consept is cool and all, but you should really invest in some better animations. Those don't suit the perpose very well in my opinion.

Yeah, the RTP is really just temporary, I just wanted to get some screenshots out as soon as it was operational.
-
Hey, this looks really good! I'll keep an eye on this one.
How about throwing the stage equipment at the audience? Or trashing it? Meh.
-
This is genious.

And the screens, bar the Animations, look awesome.

So good so far..

Oh yeah, you did some of the graphics.. thank you.
I fixed some of the animations..
I was rushing them before.
I got one club done, the one shown earlier.
If you successfully get all the fans in the audience to 'disappear', you can unlock this costume, which increases sexy level by 10.

The map, thus far:
-
I didn't notice this thread. Looking good. ;)
-
Featuring hot tracks from
-Converge
-GWAR
-Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz
-Opeth
-Alexisonfire
-The Beatles
-Dragonforce(Endurance Solo Level!!! :0!!!)
-Glass Casket
-Mastodon
-Kanye Westicles!
-And probably a few more
Now, I'm sure some of you have no clue who some of thems are, so find out the hard way. On Google.
Once I get everything workins properlys, I plan on making a time attack mode(must kill all fans in a 1:20 song-type thing),
and an endurance mode(DDR-type thing, must keep every fan appeased for as long as possible by not missing notes or else they riot and trash the stage)
Actual news: Got some mp3s working, hopefully can size them down with out compromizing quality too much. Cause right now those mp3s are some robust sh*t.
-
Sweet screens. This game will be sick. I like the concept, original, funny, and sounds fun.
-
GWAR... hell yes. It looks great. You can probably down the size of the MP3s by running them through Windows Movie Maker and lowering quality.. you can get it down quite a bit before you actually notice quality going down..
-
what alexisonfire (my fav. band) song will be on it?
-
That map looks awesome.
-
animations look better! I've got a question though, I don't know if you've already answered this, but what's the catch in the game? What makes it hard and etc. Like, Zelda has health, bomber-man has time, Resident evil has lack of ammo. I guess what I should say rather then what makes the game hard, is what makes you lose in the game?

If you don't kill the audience by the time the song is over, they riot and jump on stage, smashing all your equipment. A fate worse than death, I'm sure a few people will tell you.

Waterwings and Pulmonary Archery.
And for a bonus track, I'm going to put in 'Is it Love', by Mr Mister, the best 80s band to ever grace the earth.
-
You should use Pearl Jam, and use there songs Evenflow and Black.
-
OMG, you should like, totally make fun of songs in this. I have no clue how you'd do it, but you're a funny egg so I bet you can figure something out.
-
I'm working on a boss, a giant monster made of 'punk power'.
You have to destroy it with metal.
Once I get the health bar going I'll post a screen.
-
That looks really badass. Lets uh...lets say SOME OF US who have deleted RPG maker from there computer. Would those people be able to play the game, or would they have to download it again?
-
The health bar is for the boss, not the band :P
-
Your game is awesome. I definitely can't wait to play.
-
Those two metal masks are awesome.
-
Looks awesome! I can't wait to find out why the band puts on a show for that monster. ;)
-
This sounds like one of those games I would pay money to play. But it would seem that I won't. So... good! Keep up the ***-kickings!
-
HA! Ready to admit that my monster chara works?
Anyways, yeah, that stage looks really cool, and those masks look awsome. It's so basic a map yet so well constructed. Looks great.
-
A screen, I got the health bar going, which was easy, but I'm working on statistics influencing stage moves/stage move power.
This is a boss underwater near JFK airport. I'm going to make another boss on Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, possibly the last one. Like, themed where you have to escape a giant gorilla robot by powering a giant tank with the mystical power of the 'Pantego' scroll.
Oh, and the motivation behind performing for the monster...
I know, but you'll have to wait.
-
I don't get it, it flashes weird a lot, and only half the moves did any damage.
-

It just shows some crappy stage moves in action.

It doesn't work for me.

Buh, uhm, I haven't done all 1000 images for the bar yet.
So it's only counting by 10s at the end.
-
So you don't think this is dead, I'm working on the re-dubbed 'shredding' system still.
I'm doing Cthulhu Dawn by Cradle of Filth right now.
