Title: A Moment of Silence Please...
Post by: ZeroKirbyX on December 08, 2005, 11:21:34 PM
25 years ago, on this day in 1980, John Lennon was shot and killed in front of the Dakota building in New York City. I wil not mention the name of the man, for to do so is to give him fame as he wanted.

I'm just asking for a moment of silence to honor the man's life.

"Hey guys, forget about Ron Lennin or whatever, it's DIMEBAG'S DAY!"

Amusing observation.
But yeah, that crazy bastard ruined Pantera forever. Good thing he shot himself, or else everyone else would have. And now he burns in Hell.

Dimebag didn't break up Pantera... Rex and Phil quit to work on side projects. So Dime and Vinnie started up Damageplan...

They were playing a gig somewhere and someone shot Dime and Vinnie while playing on stage. He didn't shoot himself..

And Phil was ready to join back up with Dime too, in a later interview he said tearfully that he had planned to finish his solo project and go back and get back together with the guys from Pantera.

No, no, no. I mean the guy who shot everyone.

Well, I thought it was Pantera who was playing when Dimebag was shot. And the shooter shot him because he claimed Dimebag broke up that previous band Dimebag was in. So he shot him.

And then either he shot himself or he police shot him, I can't recall.

Ah, sorry thought you were referring to Dime there... well, in that case, that guy didn't shoot himself. The security guards shot him with a shot gun... his head exploded

Hmm.. I was gonna get into this thread and complain that it was Dimebag memorial day and not Stalin or whatever's day, but I see that it's already been tackled. Thank you.

RIP DIMEBAG!!!

Whew... never thought I'd see that...

You do realize that one of Dime's biggest influences was JOHN LENNON? I know who Dimebag is, I'm the one who brought up his death day as well. And even if you hate the beatles, they were one of the MOST IMPORTANT bands in music history!

Not quite, but yeah, I think he was cooler than John Lennon :/
Karma, though. Sell dope to blind toddlers, and you get shot.
Damageplan was no where near as good as Pantera.
My shoe is ripping. By the time you can get cons broken in they are actually broken.. sigh

I'm sorry. I could have swore somebody badmouthed the beatles... It's a good thing I didn't, or I'd have to bust out my Shotgun of Doom. And we ALL know that would be a bad thing.

I would have just run away with the eggman in my yellow submarine eating marshmallow pies trying to get back to the USSR.

John was an idealist and thats why I wished to honor him. But Yoko Ono...... Satan in asian form I tells ya.

lennon was a believer in marxist Ideals. being a student of them myself  I not only respect him as one of the most influencial musicians in american history, but as a political idealist, who strived for peace, in a not so peaceful time. Beatle, father, idealist,..however you see him, he was a great person. mer, thats all i have to say about that.
