Anyways, PYROMANIA!!! Rub rubbing alcohol on your hands (or hand sanitizer) then light... it's fun. Thats not how I burnt myself though.
I held a flame to the top of an empty bottle of alcohol, and the fumes lit and spewed out. It only burned for a few seconds, but damn did it hurt.
Please note, that I was drunk at this time.

Seriously though, I make huge bon fires in my back yard, play tag with bottle rockets, blow up my collection of extra school books that I stole, made napalm, and a few weeks ago I put my hands in a fire to turn then black because I needed to do some 'sneaking'. And the only time I've burned myself was when I made a pizza :(

Well i didn't have any gloves at the time, I was out in the middle of no where. I found a tiki tourch and held my hands in it for a bit. I kept moving my hands though so I didn't hold them in one spot. Before long, my hands had a layer of soot on them, and matched my black cloaths :)
Though I didn't burn my hand, I got my knee ran over by a tractor that night _sweat_

no matter what the context, when describing a large population, "all" is ALWAYS hyperbolic. There is always dissent in some area, you can't take the word "all" that literally.

I just found out something really cool with fire! I was on the phone for an hour and a half in my dads office, all I had was a ligher, some paper, and a can of air duster. Well if you hold the can of air duster right, you can make it freeze whatever you're spraying. Otherwise the air that comes out of it is flamible. So I got a flame with the lighter, sprayed tworeds the paper, and I had my own little flame thrower! Then I when the paper was starting everything else on fire, I turned the can to make it freeze everything, so I had frozen burnt paper, it was fun :)

Lighting yourself on fire is only fun if you don't get burnt in the end. I remember this kick *** science experiment when I was a freshmen where there was some kind of liqued in a bucket. Then gas was fed through the bottem.
When the liqued started to bubble, you had to get a bunch of the bubbles in your hands, then you lit them on fire :) So you're hands were burning, and you had to swirl them around and flames went everywhere, but no one actually got burnt :) Fun times.

What about sky diving, in my book jumping out of a plane is stupid. You can't say all sky divers are going through puberty. Just because you think something is stupid, doesn't mean it is. If no one ever played with fire, you'd be outside naked chasing a skunk with a rock trying to kill it for food. Then you couldn't cook it because there's no such thing as fire because everyone thought it was stupid to use it.
What kind of world would we live in if no one took any risks, it'd be WAY too boring. When a parent yells something like "What were you thinking", its just a useless expresion because they don't even care. If you would try to explain it to them, they would interupt you before you were done and try and tell you what you were thinking. You learn through experiance, if you do something thats stupid, you're not going to do it again. People at all ages do stupid stuff, its not just young teenagers that are going through "the change".
Fire, at least for me, isn't just like lighting a fire then going "hehe" only to do it over again for no reason. I use fire to destroy objects I hate. Sitting around a bon fire is more entertaining to me then sitting in front of the tv eating potatoe chips. I use fire works to celebrate special occasions. And sometimes It's just interesting to watch. Really, a TV is just a bunch of lights coming out of a box, well a fire is a spectrum of lights too brought on by chemical reactions. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point by now.
So in conclusion, don't assume just because someone likes fire and you don't, that they are going through puberty.

I was associating overall development with puberty. While chemical balance does play a role in bad decision making, along with peer pressure, trauma, overconfidence, etc, etc, it was this news broadcast I was thinking of when I made that post. I saw a report on this earlier in the year, or was it last year, but I guess they are just now rewriting an article on it.
But when I was referring to the stupid things teens do, I meant more along the lines of irresponsible or dangerous things:
- stealing your parents car, going for a joyride, and wrecking it,
- most of these X-TREME :rolleyes: stunts that end up with a hospital bill ,
- and, yes, lighting yourself on fire and going "Huh, huh... cooool. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow WHY DOES IT BURN!??"
It doesn't mean that you are predetermined to do said stupid stunt, but that you are prone to make the poor not-fully-thought-out decision to do said stunt.
edit: I might as well add to this list. There was a report more recently about some new trend/fad/whatever going around in schools: choking/hanging yourself till you pass-out. And who are the morons performing this stunt to get a little pleasure?

Who can blame them, school is worse then prison. You're locked up in a room all day, you're not allowed to go to the bathroom when you want, you're forced to work, you can't be 2 seconds late, and you're basically not even counted as a citizan when in school.

Then all the time out in the real world, people don't even treat younger people fairly simply because they haven't been around as long. Most of these times these incidents have no basis on the actual person.
In case you didn't figure this out already, teens aren't the only ones who play with fire, I know people well in their 40s that are worse then me. So don't try and say its because our brains are "under developed" or we're goign through puberty. That has little to nothing to do with it.

Thats just another form of prejuctice. I could say the same about an ethnic group or a gender. Here's a hard fact for you, people don't automatically get smarter when they reach 25, 20, 18, or whatever. There are stupid people at every age, I tend to find people around your age to be pretty stupid. Getting piss drunk, driving while intoxicated. Ok... well.... the feeling hasnt really came back.. some of the blisters are now pus-filled sores, I cut them open because they were annoying me. Anyways.

Now from my observations, yes, there are a lot of stupid teens, but most are responsible and inteligent enough to make good decisions. Maybe about 5-10% of the teens I know do stupid things like drugs and smoking, and maybe 20% drink. Of the 1000+ students in my school, I think about 5 get picked on, and thats because they've done stuff to deserve it. I don't think I've had one person in any of my classes skip or even been tardy.
So at least from my observations, just because you've been on the earth 13-19 times since its rotated around the sun doesn't mean you're any more irrational or stupid then any other age.

I can't figure out what your main problem is here: That I think teens are bound to do stupid things in life, or that that statement includes you (and, you feel, not me).
So, heres the deal. You give me a means to contact your parents. I will inform them of the list of things you bragged about earlier(whether or not that list of things is true, or simply you trying to be an internet badass) and your stance that such activity is not stupidity at its finest, and if they agree that you are indeed not stupid, then I will make an exception for you.
