Title: Final Fantasy: Birth of Chaos
Post by: RPG LORD on January 03, 2006, 04:13:50 PM: Title screen's already done, now to actually start the project. (lazy me..)
Basically this would be what I like to call the prologue to Final Fantasy, although I know nothing accurate about what went before it. (was never really explained...)
EDIT: If there really are people wanting updated graphics of FF1, then I seriously need help with some, as some are not in FF1 at all (Mountain battles and such..).
Also, trying to work on the FF1 font properly.

Post by: DragonBlaze on January 03, 2006, 10:34:40 PM: Well if you do use FF graphics, for the love of god please use the updated one in FF origins, there was a reason they were updated :p. Reason being is I played fan games of the first 5 final fantasys that used the original graphics, and since they weren't even used as good as the original game, it looked crappy.

Anyway, I'll be interested in how it turns out, hopefully its better then most of the other fan games out there.

I got Bahamut on the quiz :) Hehe, I'm the big scary dragon.

Is there anyone willing to help producing this project? (I won't make it too long, since it's only a short attempt to a FF1 fangame) If this works out, maybe I could reveal what the Eternal Struggle truly is.
Could somebody please try and assemble this to a tileset? It's something I majorly need in the project, although I'm not very well able to assemble ripped stuff, as in the contrary to assembling original stuff.
EDIT: I'll start on the font.

But that is another story.
Now I ask it again, is there anybody who would like to help by making some custom FF1 backgrounds? Those might be harshly needed, since I am planning to put some mountain battles into the short game.

Post by: RPG LORD on January 20, 2006, 03:53:08 PM: Probably the Origins graphics. If only I'd get hold of those disks for at least once, I could try copying them so that I can keep them safe and try ripping anything out of it. (Battle backgrounds and such are very hard to get in original size...)

Like it's coming out when it doesn't even have the minimum of needed resources. For the Origins graphics, I truly would need FF Origins anyway.

You will need billions of Origins chipsets I guess. I would concider editing FF4 advance graphics to the FF origins pallet and change some things, or add some origins thigs in there... Could look decent.

If I could find a file of FFO that ISN'T a torrent, I think it would work well. (Trust me, I hate torrents..)
And spriting? That would be appreciated, since I think I will be needing some new sprites for heroes that actually have a name and personality, but still I would need some of the old graphics, such as

SPOILER!!!!

Lukahn predicting Garland to choose the side of evil. (I can rip that myself, though..)

Just because you can't obtain it, it doesn't mean its legal to download. If I'm hungry and don't have any money, it doesn't mean its ok to steal a candy bar. And unlike going a day without a candy bar, having FFO isn't life threatening.

Well, I think this topic is getting pretty useless, as the topic technically doesn't seem to be there anymore.
As well, isn't a Final Fantasy fangame illegal?

Yeah, but just using rm2k/3 is too. Anyway, advertising downloading stuff illigally on a public forum and such isn't a good idea. It can get you and/or the forum in trouble. Thats why I suggested a legal alternitive.

Truth be told, there is hardly a moment when I'm on my computer that I'm not doing something that would be considered illigal in one way or another. Despite all that, I own a legal copy of FFO, bought it used at a video game renter place for $5.

Err anyway, I didn't make much of a point there did I? Well I attempted to at least :(

As for your game, if you really can't find any graphics for this, you could always use other rm2k3 graphics. Theres no law saying you have to use Final Fantasy gfx.

Mine are more centered around the life of Garland, and his betrayal of the Cornelian army. There are, of course, many time-related kinks that although ironed out, are not done so very elegantly. Perhaps we could help each other out?
