Title: Presentation
Post by: Drace on January 23, 2006, 07:53:41 PM
Yeah, I like, need to do a presentation for english about a band. Can't really decide here. I mean, I'm not going to do one of those dark bands nor one of those very loud bands. I've crossed a lot of a list and made a top 3. Also got to let them hear one of my favourite songs.

Please post here. I'm going to check in tomorrow morning to decide which I take for it. I've got to do it Friday so that means I'll have enough time memorying that stuff.

Either I'm going to do:

- System of a Down
   - Lost In Hollywood
   - Chop Suey!
- Story of the Year
   - Anthem of our Dying Day
   - And The Hero Will Drown
- Counting Crows
   - Round Here
   - Four White Stalions

You should change you nickname to "MEisNOTcool" or, "I suck...a lot!"

Anyway, I say Story of the Year. They rule. But take Sidewalks...itīs cooler imo.

SoaD's old songs were okay, some of them. I agree. Like Toxicity, Chop Suey, or even Aerial. But lately, there stuff is like, "what the ******************************* were you thinking?!"

My friend loves them, but he puts on some their new stuff and my ears start to bleed.

I'll agree mostly... all of them but Crow and System of a Down suck.

Asakura, did I bloody asked you what you think about them? No, for frag sake. I asked which to pick, not any commentary. Basicly because I think you suck big ones. Same goes for Seth, you suck too.
Well, the majority votes for System Of A Down, that'll probably be the one.

Fragging smegheads with bad taste.

*Nods.*

...how the **** is classic rock a revolution? Every middle schooler in the country is in love with it!

technically. the classic rock revolution happened. Point being the name  "classic rock"
It's never a good Idea to back track music. Stand on the shoulders of giants, don't try to go back in time. Utilize the technology and the knowledge we span. Music is about new things, that's what made Rock so hip....so....I dunno if I support retro-bands.

Summary:
Help me choose a band.
Those bands suck.
Agreed.
True.
I LIKE THOSE BANDS! YOU SUCK.
I agree with the previous statements.
I disagree with the previous statements.
You should do this instead.
These are much better.
Agreed.
True.
I DON'T LIKE YOUR OPINIONS. OR YOURS. I HATE YOU ALL, AND THOSE BANDS YOU LIKE.
I am the great Goddess of philosophy, watch as I take an ordinary thing like music AND BLOW YOUR MIND by adding philosophy!
I am going to make a summary.

Furthermore, I don't like those bands.

I agree with Carmen, unless I'm understanding it wrong.

And I don't like Classic Rock very much. I don't like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, AC/DC. Just not my style.

Try for a band that is little known.

Ra (www.raband.net) for instance. Very decent group, and the lead singer can *gasp* actually sing!

I understood Carmen, Razor's the one that confuzzed me. 0_o

But I think maybe Drighton's gotta point. Try for a band you never really heard of. Or maybe you don't even like. As in... Nickelback, Creed, Guns and Roses, Lostprophets, Offsprings, Big D and the Kid's Table... That last one was kinda random. But yeah, try a band you don't usualy think of much, it could be more interesting.

I listen to old and new school. I prefer old school though, new stuff just seems so...un original. (most of it)

....OMFG I DISAGREED WITH CARMEN! Thats right, whatcha gunna do about it.

Don't listen to moose! Be different! Pick a group that isn't getting enough exposure amongst your peers/social circle and bring them to light.

You know some other person in your class is going to do SoaD or all those other pop bands. I don't know if there are limits on the presentations, as far as everyone doing a different band; if there are none set, then expect at least 2 if not 3 presentations on the same band.

I swear to you that if you mention something no one has ever heard about you will get more attention that if you went up raving about Chester Bennington.

edit: ^^^^ Well, how interesting you make the presentation will play a role as well.

[whisper] Me too. [/whisper]

I'll either go for System or Story. Why Story so sudden? I listened to them some more. They're just fragging awesome.

Funny thing about Chester Bennington. He was on drugs. And then he  broke the habit. And then they wrote a song about it.

It was called "Somewhere I belong".
*ba da dish*

Nah but seriously, how often does it come along in the music world that  someone has an experience AND THEN they write a song about it! Rarest thing ever.

(thinks Revolution misunderstood "retrobands"..I love classic rock. I listen to older music then you do  =p 13th century baby)

anyway. Try for something instrumental maybe? I have some great pieces that would get people moving. Maybe some neoclassical dance?

...I'm alone aren't I?

Maybe in the neo classical stuff :P But instrumental pieces alot of the time convey more emotion than songs with lyrics. Even if the lyrics say "This is a sad song" XD
