Title: Tell me your Noob Hood story

Well I remember when I was a noob all I did was read topics, never posted.

The first topics I made was about FF7: Advent Children. I got flamed a bit for saying "The white hair guy isn't Sephiroth" After that I didn't post a bit.

Then I made a topic, in request asking someone to make me a sprite of Cloud with two swords.

Ooh man you should've seen the flames "Thats Dumb, why would Cloud hold Two swords??" and so on.

After that I made a topics about my first fan game, it didn't have a name.

The game was about Cloud, Sephiroth, Chorno, and Inuyasha. The game was about really to show how all four of them are alike but ended up being a game that had zero plot.

On came the flames, the topic got up to at least 40+ pages of flames and back then Mods didn't lock topics that much.

Then I ran into RRWP we fought for a good half a year, I started a team with Midnight.

We ran the forum request pretty much.
The team had a lot of request and anything I couldn't find. I made
(Yes I can make Chipsets, sprites and such but I'm a very very lazy busy man.)

I had over 5 gbs of chipsets, sprites, midi files, facesets, and much more. I downloaded every resource that Charas had and every resource that any RPG maker site had.

Then I became a mod, a huge fight broke out after I became a mod but, I became a mod to get push Saikar a mod position.

Many people left after I became a mod even though I didn't so much but flame those who attacked me and make a couple of suggestions to Alex like making the fourm to where you can see the fourm if you're not a registered member.

Also I suggested game hosting and Saikar for mod.
(Saikar was a very helpful person to me and others and remained neutral and was very opened minded)

I gave up moding and told everyone why. I told everyone.
"None of your Bizznazz"

After that. Uhh a few small things happened. Many Many new faces just started popping up. It was insane how fast Charas was growing.During this time Ghost Clown popped up.

Tons of fads started to start on Charas. Alex vanished a bit when we needed him on the most and he banned someone (which was a first)

I kept telling Alex that he should ban those who stand against him but he had some whole second chance thing going on. When he came back though. Bans were issued.  

I took a break from the Internet because I got a girlfriend that I actually liked. When I came back some new fella was around named "pop" yeah.. most of us know what happened there..

A few things happened between these events but that's the sum of my noob hood on Charas.

I was never a n00b on Charas. But before that... I was pretty bad. I would go into the MSN Chats and just randomly say "*thing* WILL DIE", or something along those lines. It used to annoy the hell out of people. :)

But yeah, once that phase was done, I went to some forums, and began to act in a civilized manner. Then I came here, and you know the rest.

Er.... my history is pretty bad:

-Made an *** out of my self by requestings tons of things
-Got in a argument with the mods and some other people
-Later, I acted like an *** to all the new people
-Acted lame until recently. In my opinion, I have gotten better.

I don't recall being a n00b on Charas. I don't think I never requested anything besides my signature either. RpgMaker is another story tho.

Uh, well I didn't post in the introductions for after I was here a while. I just kind of randomly appeared, but I learned the big charas no-nos before it occured to me to do any of them. After that I read the rules, which mostly stated the things I had already found out were bad. I made one single request on charas. I couldn't have been here more than a month. It was to get a chipset of clock tower, and no one responded. It didn't end up mattering anyway (like many cases), so I'm glad no one wasted their time. After some time, I decided to type normally instead of like I was on AIM.

To begin with just before my birthday my comp had a virus thingy and my 3 nearly done rpgs got deleted...After that I realised that there was sites with stuff just for the rpgm so I started my grand opening with the new broadband.

First of all I found this site while looking for a zelda chipset, after that I finally found the complete recourses and downloaded alot of stuff. When did I decided to join? Well I had moral problems comming to a site and steal stuff so I joined the forum.

The character "Purple Mage" came to life, my internet identity.

Well what we found out in one of my topics the first post was an introducion in someone elses topic and it was also a topic kick...Way to go! Well Charas was my first forum site that I´ve joined so it wasn´t that bad actually...Could have done something worse.

Well after that I found the "Weapon Request" topic held by Shadow Bahamuth and Warxe... Started to request stuff.
Then I asked the "Pops o´Riley"(can´t remember the name) for alot of sprites.

Followed Leon,Insane,Dragonium,Aces and some more peoples game that seemed really good.  Some of those game is still alive others are "sleeping".

Well a new world soon opened for me, CMS, CBS, CSS everything!
After alot of tries to get a tutorial on how to do them I gave up, well MariaMS helped me with a cartepillar system and the FaceMakerPL. My cousin was able to help me with a character change.

I soon realised that custom making stuff was really hard so after downloading some demos and copying stuff I was able to create a CMS, it sucked but it worked with save, party, quit, records and other stuff.

Ok well I teamed up with Ian and together we started on the game Rise of Rebellion, He had a much better CMS...
Well thanks to Insanes char-sized b-char template I was now able to throw away those awfull rtp battlechars and do something as close to custom I could.

Then I started to sprite, ripping and editing, how it all started but now alot better. After alot of failed projects I had alot of recourses and stuff, but could never find sound effects, but I got a friend of mine to do them for me. Helped alot of n00bs, they just took the stuff and never returned, like when I made a ff7 soilder with machine gun, walking, ready and shooting...

I guess that I was the kind of member that noone noticed, mainly because of the fact that I´m Swedish and in a different timezone but I acted like in real life, I only spoke when I felt like I had something important to say or just to cheer someone up.
When I reached 100 post I got stuck in the Rping, mainly on Xeterous and another world opened, my imagination could be used in better ways than writing in my notebook.

Well I bought alot of games then and played alot....Alot really.
So I wasn´t able to spare that much time here. Then I got dragged into World of Warcraft, it was very fun to begin with, I played with my friends and my brother, but my brother leveled ahead of me and my friend and  well he changed servers and everything...After leaving so many characters behind I decided to take a break from it, by then I had a 37 Night Elf Driúid as my highest, playing together with my brother, his friend and our cousin. We played, quested and ruled together, but when my gamecard went out the leveled alot.
After buying a new one I was alone while they where lvl 40-50 so I didn´t see a reason to play with my druid anymore...Well

Between my time away from WoW I decided to get back on rpg making and Rping, but the forum of charas got fugged up and alot of problems happened...Started on a new game, it was supposed to have a class changing system and character changing, equipment animations and a beastairy.
But when I tried to get some nice battle differances between a Warrior and Mage it all failed because noone helped me.
So well I have a Demo but it´s in swedish so...

Now im here again, got Firefox but I think it´s uncomfortable when downloading stuff... Oh yeah I´m also a very busy man... And all the stuff I´ve upploaded to the complete recourses never made it, noo of my stuff is there. Now I´m just a good for nothing guy who happen to be a member of charas.

We all at one point feel like ust another memeber. <.< There are those who make a fool of themselves and get what they want out of it, attention.

There are those who do great and help others and there are those who post, give a opinion, and make games. All these people are very important. Yes even those who make a fool of themselves. They test mods and so on... blah blah..

My first post was in the VG rippers, saying I could make sprites XP I wasn't even very good at them. I got told off alot, and double posted, and posted gun smileys, and then Robotam saved me. Cheers Robbie. :D

Sylvester has been my favorite Looney Tunes since I was a kid and I needed something to fill the gap. Besides, a n00b isn't a n00b because of an avatar but by the way he acts. Take Razor for example. He has a silly avatar but does that make him a n00b? Nope, that makes him Razor. Besides, we all change in time.

I wasn't a prick when I was a noob.

However, to counter the ava=n00b thing, I believe if your ava is genorated, you're a noob. charaman might be the only exception to this.

Well then....



I didnt post for two months, only read. After that I started posting and began going to AIM chats with charas members. I was there with RRWP's Mid hentai, and all that fun stuff.

I didn't really ( and still dont) post much.



YAY I'm an exception. That ava is almost as old as this account.

I was never a n00b, I was a newbie! n00b is used mostly in a setting of insult, while newbie is more along the lines of an affectionate beginner. I still feel that I am a newbie. I've only made one request that I can recall, but it was in an existing thread, one of those "filling such-and-such" request threads. Now that I think of it, I've never actually introduced myself. Mebe I will sometime, mebe not. And as often as I use it, the only inaccuracies I have in spelling or grammar I intentionally use ("mebe" instead of "maybe", and "prob'ly" instead of "probably") nobody has ever mentioned it or spoken bad of my use of it. I guess I should participate a bit more to be considered more than a newbie.

I don´t recall being a n00b either...In the beggining I didn´t do many requests, but I did post a lot in the Tutorials board...I don´t remember getting into fights (except once) or going all they way against the rules...I´m a pretty nice person.

It's all about the attitude. If someone is universally accepted as a n00b, there are great chances that he or she is. The people also play a part in the process of finding or 'creating' a n00b even if the biggest part of the job is done by the n00b himself.

I was a bit of a jerk when I first joined. I flamed a guy for making a Yu-Gi-Oh charset.
But after that, I helped a few people out with their RM2k problems and gave a few comments on people's stuff in Gallery.

I don't think I was a n00b... I first posted an introduction, didn't topic kick, never get in a flamme thread... The only thing I did that maybe was n00bish was posting a request in my second or third or maybe fourth post... But my first post was some time after I registered. One or two month, I don't remember. I first registered only to upload a monster I made... then, after reading some post, I foud it interesting, so I read the rules and made my introduction.

I started pretty bad, made alot of requests acted like a know it all, was a total jerk in my opinion (I still think I am a bit of one too...), then left for like a year (or it felt like it). And now I'm back grown up and posting what I think with out acting like I'm someone cool or something... most of the time  _sweat_

Hmmm.... In ways I still are newbie, because I enjoy debating over pointless topics, but I never really did anything noob related other then that. I didn't post any mind numbingly off topic posts, stayed outta the forum games untill I came a bit more well known, never kicked, and I didn't make a request before having 150 posts. I guess the only noob thing I did was make my 5 post my own game topic, when I didn't have much more then one screen and an intro plot to fall back on.

Oh, right. I forgot my quintuple post. I don't recall where, but I did. On a different note, I recently learned that some people have taken a dislike to my supposed overuse of commas. I personally haven't noticed it, particularly since I usually use them in proper context. If anythin, I would have expected a dislike for my blatent overuse of ()s. I guess I was wrong, huh? Just for my sake, could one of the "haters" tell me where such an offence exists? Mebe it'll help me improve my ways.

Edit: Archem, I noticed your post. You're pretty dim witted, I mean, what would we have against commas? My newbhood here was weird for all I could recall.. I wonder how I got here though? Is it through that topic by Grandragora that I registered here..? Oh well. One thing's certain. I registered quite a few times here because of forgetting my password.
I'm sure some people can say I'm quite obsessed with my own project.
