Title: Signature Trouble
Post by: Zerlina on March 15, 2006, 04:15:43 PM
(Yeah, I don't know if this is the wrong board, but frankly I'm using IE explorer and this forum's really really hard to navigate.)

This sounds like complete newbie question, but I can't make an image a link in my signature. Or even post any link in my signature. It always goes to a 404 error (in charas). Can anyone help me out? What's the code to make an image a link in your sig? (once I tried and it worked in a post, but when I moved it to my signature it stopped working).

Is the image and I want it to link to

http://www.freewebs.com/palisgame

Are you speaking of the sig you have now? Because I can see it..

I host my images at

www.photobucket.com and  I use the "tag" html..

tis where i come in =P

< a href="http://www.freewebs.com/palisgame" >< img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/greenabsinthe/palislogo.jpg"   > < /a >

copy and paste that to your signature and delete ANY spacing. it should work

Actually, it works better as:

[ URL=http://www.freewebs.com/palisgame]< img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v92/greenabsinthe/palislogo.jpg > [/ URL]

without the quotation marks. But just on Charas; if you're doing anything for a website, use KM's version.

Thanks so much! I didn't even think of using html.

Is there a reason why this works on charas, but anywhere else it's better to use the other one?

Well, since Charas is home-made, there's some flaws in the code. HTML doesn't work well if it has quotations, and the [ IMG] [/ IMG] tags often screw up the size of images.
