Title: New Mods, new philosophy, new Charas forums
Post by: Alex on March 23, 2006, 01:47:11 AM
Aye!!!

Yes, i'm still alive.
I know that probably many users do not even know who i am, considering how much i'm writing here in the last months.

I saw something is really moving, here: Saikar is doing his job very well, as well as all of the Admin/Mod team.

I don't really know why i'm posting this thread, maybe just to say "Hello world" again and to tell what i think of the new changes.

One thing i saw, is that Charas Forums is grown: and i do not only mean in "maturity" terms, i mean physically. It's some years we're here, and many of our kiddies are now young men and women.
I'm happy to see they're grown in every sense, making this forum grow as well.

Charas forums really seems a bit different from the times i was always here. It's a completely standalone thing, no more hardly connected with Charas itself (which is the generators). This is cool, this means a community is really living, round here.

I'd like to thank everyone, users, admins, mods, spriters, complete resources maintainers: everyone that everyday keep this alive.

I wish the best to all of you, expecially to Sai and whoever helped him in taking the not easy decisions he took in these last days.

I will be around: do not count me as an active users, but always feel my breath on your necks! :D

Cya soon, Charas world!

LOL!!

Alex! I laugh cause I felt a great sense of happiness and kinda like seeing a father for a while :P

XD

And t what you have said, I feel honored and happy that you see it that way, I trully do, cause for one, I am one of the people that loves charas :P it's actually in one of my references in my career planning resume. XP

Anyway, nice to hear from you Alex-sama, and happy to know, you see the community as you see it =D

lol excuse the typos, i was quite hyped xP

Well, at least you still have faith in us :)

I agree that Sai's been doing a great job. Hopefully, what he's done will make Charas a ton better.

Glad to see you still breath and rule above us all on your shiny throne :P

Charas is indeed getting bigger everyday but my account is barely 1 year old so I can't speak about old times. We are quite the unique community. In time of peace, we help each others assuming we aren't throwing rocks at each others. In time of war, we ally and throw rock at our common target. And yet here we are, still standing tall.

When ever Alex posts, it's the same satisfaction of when you witness Chuck Norris throw a burning bus of orphans off of a cliff.

To be honnest, I still see the forums as an extension of the generators, but meh. The forums would live up more if there were some sort of contest or something.

Should i? :D :D :D

About what i'm doing now (if you don't care, i don't care. I'm the boss so i write whatever i want!): nothing so different from the past.
I made my decisions for life, and i paid them. Probably i'm still too much a dreamer, but evenif no money i live better inside.

In the last month (and still now) i am involved in a project with an American Company. Guess what? For them i'm creating a GENERATOR OF GENERATORS, LOL!

This is what i love about the internet: i live in Italy, i will probably never meet them. But we can work together, we can build something. This is amazing. And, after all, it's the same reason that makes places like this cool.

I remember an old topic posted here, named "It's possible to consider net firends as real friends?" or something similar. Well, i absolutely think so. After all, i can't belive all Charas forums users are here just because they've nothing better to do, right?

IMHO the virtual life is not something that should replace the real life: it's simply another "form" of life, something that we should know and, if we want to, experience.
Real life cannot connect as many peoples as virtual life does, and virtual life cannot give the wormness of a good hand shaking. Diffrent, but both with their own dignity.

I will probably think on something new that may involve all of you, and probably not in the RPG world.

For example, what if i'll create a "charas world images" page?
Something where we all can post images of our countries to show how big the world is? We are many peoples, and we are from everywhere. I think a thing like this would also create a nice area that would be nice to browse for everyone, not only from ourselves.

Mah, will see. I just can't stop thinking i have to create everyday something new!

Well, that's it: hope this post did not bore you too much.

And tell me what do you think about the "charas world images" page ;)
Title:

To be honest, it sounds like it would be a good idea at first, but it just doesn't seem like something that a lot of people would like to view after a while.

Why not, FFL? It's a fun project, and it might not be updated occasionally, but it can give a vision of what our country or our place is like.

You can see it as a collage, or a community art project.

The photos thing sounds really great, but so that we donīt load the forum with heavy pics and stuff, mebbe itīd be better if we made an common acc in some picture hosting site...Still that doesnīt seems like a good idea, cause some noob may wreck it all...

Anyway, good to see your postings alex! Keep it up!

Yeah, it could make a pretty nice-looking collage. I'm not saying that we shouldn't do this; it will be fun, and if we do decide to do it, then I'm for it! But it just seems to me like something that would be mostly forgotten about not long after its completion.

I joined at 12:01 on January first 2004. And I still feel like one of the outcasts... or the unknowns around here. I suppose its due to my frequent times of absence. Anyways, It's good to see Alex still around, and I definately like the idea of the pictures of our world.

Well actually the foundation that they built it on had too much water underneath it; thusly it slowly sinks like an inch a year, or something.

Also, MrMr's farm scares me.
