If I played Street Fighter, I'd be awestruck. Otherwise, I'm mildly impressed with his ability to hold block. No, I generally don't like fighting games, but this is something to admire in its own right.

Yeah, cause youīre sooooo good....

Anyway, to defend Chun-Li's special Ken had to make a command to EACH KICK...so there you go...

I've played street fighter, holy muffinsonastick that guy's good. I'm surprised the game didn't explode from the awesomeness. It takes mucho skill to do that.

Edit: 400th post, sweeet.

I've done something like that before.

For the record, it was a complete accident.

Most impressive thing is that Ken had the nerve to block when he jumped AND chain the whole freaking combo! Dude, when I do something like that (obviously, by accident) my adrenalin goes so high that the next moves fail mostly...talk about cold blooD!

I've NEVER been able to pull off anything close to that, ever. Closest I got was blocking M.Bison for the entire final fight (Street fighter Alpha 3) that game sure crunched teh quarters.

Post by: Meiscool-2 on March 29, 2006, 02:29:09 AM
Meh, I've done the same thing in Soul Caliber, but because it doesn't have that "press for each block" effect, I guess it's not as extrodinary.

See, My friend and I do things like that often in SSBM. Yeah, we freakin' dodge around each other's fast-paced attacks for up to five minutes straight, then turn around and clank swords ten or so attacks in a row. One time, a friend of ours came over while we were in the middle of a battle, and he watched us play the last two lives we had. He was freaking out. It was funny to watch him. Yet, we watch him play DDR at the highest speed possible on the computer, and he gets a perfect score. Point is, my friend and I were crazy-awesome at SSBM. It's a shame we haven't played in a few months. We're only mildly challenging at this point. We once had a game of three lives each on .5 damage, and it lasted FOUR HOURS. Anyway, I can admire the guy's (mebe girl's) gameplaying skills, I just don't care that much about Street Fighter. Sorry for boring you with my story. _sweat_

All fighting game stories are appriciated. Four hours though? Never had a game last that long, except for that 99 lives stock fight......

Yeah, we played like crazy. And we'll never forget that battle because as soon as it ended, I got the chance to fight Mewtwo. I owned him so bad... Yet it seems that, every time, Dr. Mario and Mr. Game & Watch pwn me the first time I fight them. You know, for the opportunity to play as them. Never the second time, though. We still can't understand this mythical feat of bot-related ownage. We call it "The Monster" effect. And we've had witnesses of it, and it's freaking crazy how everyone thinks the same thing: HOLY SH*T!!! DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?!! HOLY F*CKING SH*T!!!

SSBM rocks. I've trained most of my friends with such skills as rolling, dodging, catching items and etc

for example, one of my disciplinary methods is to make them catch bobombs.
Good times.

Also, I've trained one of my friends to the point where he usually wins matches against me.

Yeah, when I first saw it I was like "HOLY SH!T!!!"...

Well, I play Naruto 2 (PS2) pretty well too...dodging and back appearing and stuff...Itīs one of the best fighting games ever...

SSMB stands for Smashing Brothers right? Iīve never seen it, but itīs so friggin famous!

The SSBM videos are insane too. I could imagine how the guy felt winning that one. It'd be like the feeling you get after defeating a boss you lost to 50 times and then BARLEY squeezed by. Huge relief and amazement. Multiplied by 100. I'd prolly faint. In the previusly described situations I usually turn white from amazement.

Cool. Im amazed since parrying takes LOTS and LOTS of practice and skill in Street Fighter 3rd Strike. FFR (FlashFlashRevolution) helps with practice and precision to help get parrying right in SF3rd Strike, which is unexpected but helpful.

Yeah, if you look at the bottom of the screen it shows the chubby guy that lost...he just looses the joystick (I hate this name...itīs no ambiguous) and lay down in the chair...so funny.

It looks like it would take a lot of skill to do that. But since I don't play SF a lot, it's not as impressive to me. But still cool.

And, for the record, SSBM = teh ownage

The thing isnīt all about the technique of the guy...itīs about the situation. Itīs the finals of a game contest, your health bar is at 0.000000000000000000000000000001 and the other player has got his special bar full...he makes the move and, with all the adrenalin and your nerves nearly dead you manage do defend all the kicks, jump and defend in the air and still think of a combo that permits no counter attack!!! How cool-headed is that guy? Heīs dead inside! Iīd have pissed myself...

Post by: Archem on March 30, 2006, 10:49:32 PM
Actually, he had quite a bit more than .00|--|01 (not much, still), and he got hit a few more times. It's still pretty cool, though. But yeah, his nerves must have been shot. Of course, he's prob'ly trained against all characters and learned to avoid their attacks. It's still cool, but feels a little bit hollow if you take all factors into account. But yeah, I see games like that almost everytime I'm in an arcade, so I wasn't completely stunned.

Oh, and for the record: Link pwnzorz all. Especially when I'm behind the wheel... er... controller.
